Chapter 43: Kissing You Doesn’t Work at All!
When Lin Yuan woke up, the sun was already high in the sky.
He opened his eyes groggily.
He saw Shen Yanzhou sitting on the sofa across from the bed, handling business on his laptop.
One layer of the double curtains was drawn.
The bright sunlight outside was filtered into a hazy, pale, soft glow.
It cast a shadow on his profile, as if adding a soft filter to him.
He looked serious, his thin lips naturally pursed, his gaze focused on the screen.
A slightly curled lock of hair hung down over his forehead, adding a hint of bewitching charm to that exquisitely handsome face.
Lin Yuan discovered that when Shen Yanzhou focused on his work and didn’t lose his temper, he was truly mesmerizing.
But in front of him, he was always tyrannical, mad, and reckless.
Just like last night.
They had agreed to do it only once.
But he had used both coaxing and coercion to keep him trapped, doing it over and over again.
Lin Yuan really couldn’t hold on; he kept begging for mercy and kept kissing him, but it was all to no avail.
He remained in a state of loss of control.
Fortunately, he wasn’t too rough.
But he had still worked him to exhaustion.
Moreover, he had discovered a very shameful thing.
While Shen Yanzhou was tormenting him, there was a moment or two where he actually developed some strange feelings!
Lin Yuan’s eyelids drooped slightly.
The entanglement of body and soul had left him mentally and physically exhausted.
He couldn’t figure out whether this man hated him or, as he said, liked him.
He had searched the entire Imperial Capital and rescued him from that little demon Yu Yi’an, yet as soon as they met, he found ways to grind him down and ravage him, making him suffer.
Lin Yuan couldn’t understand it.
He could only let out a mournful sigh.
Sitting opposite him, Shen Yanzhou heard the change in the bed’s occupant’s breathing and immediately looked up.
“You’re awake.”
He put down his laptop, stood up, and walked over.
“The fever has broken. Do you feel any better?” He walked to the bedside and sat down next to him.
Lin Yuan nodded gently. “Mm, okay. Just very thirsty.”
Shen Yanzhou quickly stood up again, went to the outer room, poured a glass of warm water, and brought it in.
“Get up and drink some water.”
He held Lin Yuan’s shoulder and carefully propped him up.
He brought the water to his lips.
Lin Yuan was unwilling to let him feed him and wanted to reach out for the glass.
But he found that his arms and wrists were incredibly sore and painful.
He had no choice but to let him feed him, drinking half a glass of water.
“Why don’t you lie down for a bit longer?” Shen Yanzhou said.
Lin Yuan did want to lie down, but with Shen Yanzhou there, he was unwilling to face him in that position.
It wasn’t safe!
He shook his head. “I’ll sit for a while.”
“Alright.” Shen Yanzhou helped him lean against the headboard.
“Huaiyuan said you need to eat things that are easy to digest for the next couple of days.”
“I had Uncle Chen invite two chefs from a Michelin-starred restaurant to stew some peach gum and bird’s nest porridge for you, along with some other light dishes.”
Lin Yuan lowered his eyes and said a soft “Thank you, Ge.”
His voice was a bit perfunctory, with no rise or fall in emotion.
Looking at his crumpled little face, Shen Yanzhou knew he must still be angry about his broken promise last night.
“Uh, Xiao Yuan, Brother lost control again last night. It was my fault.”
“Don’t… don’t be angry, okay?” He lowered his posture significantly.
Staring into his eyes, he sincerely admitted his mistake.
Lin Yuan tilted his head slightly to look at him, feeling a bit strange in his heart.
He hadn’t expected the man to actually apologize to him.
Lin Yuan pouted his small mouth.
He muttered to himself in a low voice: “You said kissing you when you lose control would work, but it didn’t work at all!”
“Were you lying to me?”
He looked up at him, his dark phoenix eyes as pure and clear as a shallow spring, allowing one to see right to the bottom.
Shen Yanzhou naturally didn’t dare admit it and quickly shook his head. “No, how could Brother lie to you?”
“If you hadn’t kissed me like that then, I might have gone even crazier.”
Lin Yuan’s handsome brows furrowed slightly.
It sounded like there was some logic to it.
He puffed out his cheeks and went silent.
Shen Yanzhou’s eyes sparkled. “Baby, do you know how to fundamentally solve the problem of my losing control?”
Lin Yuan’s brow furrowed as he shook his head slightly.
“Do you want to hear it?” Seeing that his mood was okay now, he wanted to tease him.
Lin Yuan gave a little nod.
He really wanted to hear it!
Shen Yanzhou’s lips curled into a smile. “Didn’t I say my ‘loss of control’ cycle is twelve hours? If I make sure to touch you within that cycle, won’t everything be fine?”
Lin Yuan’s small face suddenly turned red.
“What… what are you going to do again?” He suddenly became nervous.
His small hand instinctively grabbed the quilt.
Shen Yanzhou quickly hugged his shoulder and coaxed him softly, “Don’t be afraid, Baby. Brother won’t do anything.”
He held his thin shoulder, lowered his head, and gently kissed the top of his head. “Don’t be afraid.”
Just then, his phone rang. It was Yue Ping calling.
“President Shen, Dr. He, the chief senior TCM doctor at Jishi Hall, is fully booked for today and tomorrow. The earliest appointment is the day after tomorrow in the afternoon.”
Shen Yanzhou’s brow tightened. “Have Cheng Feng take some men there immediately. Give him enough money and bring Dr. He to my villa right away.”
Yue Ping was slightly hesitant. “Uh, President Shen, what if Dr. He refuses…”
Shen Yanzhou raised an eyebrow. “You don’t understand what it means to have Cheng Feng go there?”
Yue Ping: “Understood, President Shen!”
He knew his master’s madness was acting up again—he was actually going to kidnap someone!
Ever since Lin Yuan appeared, the madness that hadn’t flared up in years had returned with a vengeance!
Hanging up the phone, Shen Yanzhou’s eyes regained their tenderness.
He said to Lin Yuan, “Huaiyuan said to find a TCM doctor to check on you and have you take a few doses of Chinese medicine to nourish your body.”
Lin Yuan pursed his lips and shook his head. “I don’t like taking Chinese medicine. It’s too bitter.”
Shen Yanzhou: “To regulate your body, you can’t be afraid of bitterness.”
Lin Yuan pouted, unhappy.
Shen Yanzhou remembered something and opened the bedside table.
He took out an exquisite small box.
He handed it over. “Eat these after taking your medicine, and it won’t be bitter.”
Lin Yuan opened it to see a box full of colorful, assorted chocolates and candies.
Unconsciously, a small smile bloomed on his face.
“Do you want to eat a piece now?” Shen Yanzhou asked, as if coaxing a child.
Lin Yuan nodded. “Mm!”
Shen Yanzhou took one out, unwrapped it, and fed it into his mouth.
Seeing the rare expression of pleasure on his small face, Shen Yanzhou’s gaze became somewhat obsessed.
After eating three pieces of chocolate, Lin Yuan was satisfied and his mood improved a little.
Shen Yanzhou wanted to have breakfast served in the bedroom, but Lin Yuan said he wanted to go downstairs for some activity.
So Shen Yanzhou helped him downstairs to the dining room for breakfast.
After the meal, Shen Yanzhou accompanied him for a walk in the yard.
“Don’t you have to go to work today?” Lin Yuan asked.
Shen Yanzhou smiled and shook his head. “I’m staying home to accompany you today.”
Lin Yuan’s face fell: I have to see him all day?
He felt a bit depressed!
Just then, a black car drove into the yard.
The car came to a stop, and a tall, burly bodyguard in black led a short, thin old man out of the car.
The bodyguard captain, Cheng Feng, led the man to Shen Yanzhou.
“President Shen, Dr. He has been brought here.”
The old man beside him had a very grim expression.
“This President Shen, what you’ve done is truly excessive! I had an important patient who traveled specifically from Haicheng to see me this morning!”
“A doctor cares most about their reputation and word of mouth. Aren’t you making me get scolded?”
The corners of Shen Yanzhou’s lips curled into a smile as he nodded politely to the old man.
“No, no one would dare scold you. Your only responsibility today is to examine my baby. You don’t need to worry about anything else.”
Right at that moment, a silver-white luxury sports car sped in from a distance.
It came to a halt right at the courtyard entrance.
A man jumped out of the car.
“Wait, is there no law in the Imperial Capital? Does this count as a kidnapping? Dr. He, do you want me to call the police for you?”
The speaker was a man in his twenties with a buzz cut and a floral shirt.
He had very handsome features, but he looked a bit like a rogue.
Dr. He shook his head helplessly. “Mr. Jian, there’s no need to call the police. But I am truly sorry! Look, how about letting Mr. Jiang wait for a while?”
“Let us wait? Is that appropriate? We made an appointment a week in advance!”
The man in the floral shirt said, looking at Shen Yanzhou, “Hey, you have to be reasonable, right?”
Shen Yanzhou was about to say something when the passenger door of the sports car opened and another man stepped out.
“Zechuan, don’t argue.” The man wore loose white casual clothes and spoke with a gentle voice.
As he spoke, he covered his mouth with a handkerchief and coughed twice.
“Perhaps the person’s illness is more urgent. It doesn’t matter if we wait a bit.”
When Lin Yuan saw the person who stepped out, his phoenix eyes instantly widened.
