Chapter 17: Transformation! Part 1
The two minors accompanied Yun Yingzhi as he registered his membership information for the Yaoming Battle Arena.
There was a specific option on the form: any talented Ability Warrior had the potential to skyrocket in fame at the Yaoming Battle Arena and accumulate a massive following.
[Do you wish to disclose your true identity to the public?]
The first people Yun Yingzhi thought of were Madame Yun and General Yun.
If he didn’t achieve good results, he felt his parents would think he was intentionally embarrassing them—just like how they ignored him yet explicitly forbade him from pursuing the path of a Source Weapon Manufacturer.
Pursing his lips, Yun Yingzhi hesitated for a moment before selecting “Private.”
Since he chose to keep his identity secret, he had to create a new nickname.
Yun Yingzhi tried several aliases, but he was repeatedly prompted that the names were already taken. Getting a bit frustrated, he finally registered a name at random: “One Mighty Little White Rabbit.”
He was successfully registered instantly.
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
By the time he reacted, the staff member had already begun explaining the rules of the Yaoming Battle Arena.
In the arena, blades have no eyes. Therefore, before every match starts, the warriors in the queue receive an email notification and must sign a liability waiver to proceed with the battle.
Once everything was set up, Yun Yingzhi and the two minors formed a team together.
Team Name: Dominate Yaoming.
Yun Yingzhi found the name quite embarrassing, but after considering the ages of the two minors, he understood. Who didn’t have a chuunibyou phase when they were young?
The three of them entered the 3V3 matchmaking queue.
While waiting, they introduced themselves.
A-Hao said, “My Second Form is a Bear. My specific ability allows for area-of-effect ground control; I can create earthen spikes and walls, integrating both defense and offense.”
A-Qing said, “My Second Form is a Snow Fox, also with a specific ability. I’ve currently awakened four types of abilities—single-target and group attacks. I haven’t awakened any defensive or support abilities yet.”
Yun Yingzhi asked curiously, “What about your Source Weapons?”
“I’m already very powerful; why would I need a Source Weapon?” A-Qing said proudly.
“My Source Weapon mainly controls energy to establish a small-scale gravity field, but it only delays the opponent for less than 0.1 seconds. I feel it’s a waste of Source Energy,” A-Hao added.
This was the current reality for the vast majority of Source Weapons. If one didn’t purchase a perfectly “aligned” weapon, the Source Energy consumed was less efficient than simply using one’s own abilities.
Both minors were Level 3 Ability Warriors, nearing Level 4.
Yun Yingzhi thought: As expected of minors, their levels are a bit low. It looks like they’ll have to cling to the thick thighs of this Level 5 Big Boss.
Behind his mask, Yun Yingzhi’s face filled with pride. Happy little flowers bloomed around him, and his entire being radiated a joyful aura.
Seeing Yun Yingzhi’s obviously happy appearance, A-Hao and A-Qing assumed he was excited because he realized he was “clinging to their thick thighs” after hearing their strength.
A-Qing tilted his chin up behind his mask and said, “We’ve shared our situation; now you should tell us yours.”
Yun Yingzhi mimicked A-Qing, lifting his chin slightly. “I am a Level 5 Ability Warrior.”
A nineteen-year-old Level 5 was as common as cabbage in the Top Ten Military Academies, but when that scope was expanded to the entire Los Empire, it was considered quite impressive.
The two minors looked at Yun Yingzhi with shock. They never expected him to be a Level 5 warrior.
Was this a case of “don’t judge a book by its cover”?
Yun Yingzhi felt exceptionally proud as he continued, “My Source Weapon is a fire-attribute weapon. It’s equipped with group attacks, single-target strikes, and…” He began babbling about the various combat skills integrated into his Source Weapon.
Although it was only a Level 5 Source Weapon, Yun Yingzhi had specifically manufactured it for his own “weak” self. It had both area and close-range attacks but lacked defensive or support skills.
Throughout his school life, almost no classmate had the heart to hurt a fragile little rabbit. Thus, when manufacturing a weapon for himself, he never considered defensive or utility types.
The two minors listened intently, waiting for him to get to the main point… but they kept waiting.
They realized something was off.
Seeing Yun Yingzhi still talking about his weapon’s skills, A-Qing interrupted, “Wait, Big Brother, what about your actual ability?”
Yun Yingzhi, who hadn’t awakened an ability: “…”
A-Hao followed up, “Right, you keep talking about the skills in your Source Weapon, but what is your innate ability?”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Could he really admit to these two kids that he hadn’t awakened an ability yet? How embarrassing!
Yun Yingzhi tried to save face. After thinking for a moment, he remembered the strange attribute attached to his Second Form.
Compared to his human shape, his Second Form possessed immense strength.
After a moment of silence, Yun Yingzhi said guiltily, “…Strength.”
A-Qing and A-Hao froze, looking at Yun Yingzhi with bewildered gazes.
Yun Yingzhi explained, “Well, my ability is Strength. I’m just… very strong.”
The atmosphere turned a bit cold.
A-Hao paused and asked, “…Is it just strength?”
Behind his mask, Yun Yingzhi’s face slumped. He thought seriously: besides the great strength of his Second Form, did he have anything else special?
Did being a “big eater” count?
According to others, being “illegally cute” to the point where “fluff-cons” lost their will to fight and only wanted to nuzzle him—did that count?
Seeing Yun Yingzhi’s silence, the two understood immediately.
A-Qing said, “No wonder you need to rely on Source Weapons to fight.”
Yun Yingzhi argued, “I am a Level 5 warrior!” He emphasized his words.
While they talked, a notification arrived on their personal terminals. The 3V3 matchmaking results were out. They needed to sign the liability waiver to begin the battle.
After each signed their names, they followed the match number provided by the system and headed toward the waiting room.
On the way, as if remembering something, A-Qing looked at Yun Yingzhi and asked, “By the way, should I call you A-Qiang or A-Tu?”
For a split second, Yun Yingzhi deeply regretted setting his alias to “One Mighty Little White Rabbit.”
The first match was about to start, and there was no way to change it now. He said, “…Call me Brother Qiang?”
A-Qing replied, “Oh, A-Qiang.”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Before Yun Yingzhi could correct the name, A-Qing asked again, “You only mentioned your ability and your weapon’s energy type. What is your Second Form?”
“Right, what is your Second Form?” A-Hao echoed.
“…” Behind his white rabbit mask, Yun Yingzhi’s lips thinned into a line. He couldn’t bring himself to say the word “Rabbit” for a long time.
Seeing his reaction, A-Qing looked at him in disbelief. “Wait, A-Qiang, your Second Form wouldn’t happen to be a rabbit, would it?”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Yun Yingzhi quickened his pace toward the waiting room, talking about other things to avoid answering directly.
The two teammates followed, continuing to press him about his form.
A-Hao said, “A-Qiang, why won’t you tell us what your Second Form is?”
A-Qing: “Is it really a rabbit?”
“It shouldn’t be, right? I’ve never heard of an Ability Warrior with a Second Form like a rabbit or a hamster coming to the Yaoming Battle Arena.”
Yun Yingzhi felt a lump in his chest. He desperately wanted to refute them.
But thinking about it, there was no way to refute it.
The world is vast and full of wonders. There were indeed some very weak Second Forms that awakened powerful abilities, but those people had one thing in common.
Because their forms were weak, they almost never transformed into their Second Forms during public battles.
In most cases, the Second Form restricted their performance.
Because of this, it was extremely difficult to see a cute, soft, and weak Second Form at the Yaoming Battle Arena.
By comparison, Yun Yingzhi’s Second Form was a rare outlier. Although he looked like a soft, fluffy little white rabbit, his physical data in terms of stamina, strength, and agility were all superior to his human form.
Yun Yingzhi had planned from the start to primarily use Source Weapons to fight. Like those who hid their weak forms, he also intended to keep his concealed.
He thought there shouldn’t be any accidents.
The so-called “accident” would only occur if he needed to use immense strength in battle; only then would it be necessary to transform. If there was no such need, he naturally wouldn’t.
With this thought, Yun Yingzhi resolutely refused to tell the two minors what his Second Form was.
He also deeply regretted that his randomly registered nickname couldn’t be changed for a year. He was in a pathetic state now.
With about ten minutes left until the match, the passage from the waiting room to the arena opened.
Yun Yingzhi entered the passage with the two minors and stepped onto the battle platform.
He looked around.
