Streaming Earth Cuisine In The Interstellar to Raise Star Cubs chapter 61.4

Part 4

Over the next few days, Ning Yunyi continued to treat the big cat and livestream with him as usual. As the cat’s sea of consciousness recovered more and more, Ning Yunyi discovered that his fur color had begun to change.

Holding the brush, he felt it was inconceivable and looked at him against the light. “I’m afraid you can’t join the livestream today.”

The kitten came over and poked around, finally curling up to the side and staring at the big cat with his round eyes. “Meow?” Father, why can’t Big Cat livestream?

Ning Yunyi pointed to the big cat’s originally grey-white fur, which was now mixed with a lot of black.

The kitten was a cartoon kitten, but the big cat revealed his own form to the world. If people saw this, it would surely be inappropriate. Perhaps those in the room wouldn’t think much of it, but too many people could see it; Ning Yunyi didn’t dare bet.

Not only that…

“One more treatment tomorrow should be enough.” Ning Yunyi thought about it and spoke bluntly. He didn’t mention the part about leaving, but the big cat clearly understood. He looked up, obviously not having expected it to be so fast.

Once healed, it would be almost time for Zong Hao to leave the Ning residence. After all, he had many things to personally arrange with Ichi; that was his mission and responsibility.

He hadn’t felt it before, but now that it was truly time to leave, Zong Hao felt a bit reluctant.

Ning Yunyi was more open-minded. Once the Crown Prince and the others were dealt with, the big cat would be on Capital Planet, and it wasn’t as if they would never see each other again.

However, glancing at the still-clueless kitten, Ning Yunyi picked him up and placed him on the big cat’s head. “Here, you spend the next couple of days with the little guy.” They should spend their final time together. After tomorrow, he would likely be leaving soon.

The little fellow gripped the big cat’s neck fur with his paws in a good mood. He nuzzled his small head and soon messed up the cat’s fur.

Since the big cat wasn’t livestreaming, it didn’t matter if his fur was messy.

The big cat let the little guy do as he pleased, even carrying him around for a bit. He also felt reluctant to leave the cub. After spending all this time together, he had already come to consider himself part of the Ning family.

Ning Yunyi went to the big cat’s room that evening. He knocked and went in.

The big cat lay there looking at him, clearly having guessed his purpose.

Ning Yunyi got straight to the point. “One more treatment tomorrow morning and your mental disorder should be mostly cured. Then you can leave whenever you want. But Cub doesn’t know the situation yet. You see when to say goodbye to him.”

He couldn’t bear to watch the little guy cry, so since the big cat was the one who would make him cry, he’d have to coax him himself.

The big cat lay there without speaking for a moment. Thinking of that scene, his heart also felt a bit stinging; he was reluctant.

Ning Yunyi said, “It’s not like you won’t see him again. You’re not leaving tomorrow anyway; there are still a few days for a buffer. Spend… spend more time with him.”

After saying that, Ning Yunyi felt something was strange. Why did it feel like a divorce scene where he had the cub while the other was being kicked out?

He quickly shook the bizarre thought away.

When he woke up the next morning, Ning Yunyi prepared several of the kitten’s favorite dishes early, for fear that the little guy would cry after Zong Hao’s confession later.

The little fellow’s eyes lit up seeing so much delicious food. He looked at his father obediently and inexplicably thought of the scene where his cousin had turned into a rabbit and been fed. He pressed his small hands together, and when Ning Yunyi looked over in confusion, he poof-ed back into a little black kitten, his emerald eyes peering at Ning Yunyi.

He actively jumped onto his lap and even thoughtfully put on a bib himself with his paws. He leaned back and lay obediently in Ning Yunyi’s arms.

Ning Yunyi looked at him as he stared piteously, as if complaining that his father hadn’t kissed, hugged, or fed the cub in a long time.

Ning Yunyi pinched his ears, thinking that just once wouldn’t hurt. He moved the little guy’s plate over.

The kitten pulled his father’s plate over too, clearly planning for them to take turns feeding each other.

Looking at the big cat across from them, who was using his paws to hold a spoon, the little fellow was unusually embarrassed. But thinking that he could be fed by his father, he decided to ignore cat-comradeship. If the big cat wanted his father to feed him, he wouldn’t allow it.

His father could only personally feed one kitty-cat, so Big Cat, don’t even think about it. Father won’t feed you.

Inexplicably understanding the little fellow’s inner thoughts, Zong Hao’s heart was in knots. No, I won’t. I can’t afford that embarrassment.

If Ning Yunyi hadn’t known his true identity, it would be one thing. But since he knew, this… was already his final bottom line.

Zong Hao watched as the father and son shared their meal, taking turns feeding each other. For some reason, he felt that he, sitting alone on the other side, was isolated, and even the food didn’t taste as good.

Of course, that was just a fleeting thought; the food was still delicious.

After the meal, Ning Yunyi looked at the kitten, who was contentedly rubbing his belly, and glanced at the big cat. “Cub, go to the study later. Big Cat has something to tell you.”

The little fellow gave a soft response, clearly thinking it wasn’t anything important, otherwise his father would have let the cat say it right then.

Ning Yunyi had the big cat follow him to the study. This was the final treatment, and afterward, the big cat should be fully recovered. He was just curious if the big cat would end up being a calico cat of grey, white, and black.

Zong Hao went to the study carrying his suit. When he changed later, he’d tell the little fellow about his departure. He’d even thoughtfully prepared a handkerchief, fearing the little guy would sob in reluctance. He’d even prepared the movements for coaxing him.

Ning Yunyi found it amusing to see the big cat looking so grave. “What if the cub doesn’t care about your departure at all?” Then wouldn’t you be the one who’s sad?

The big cat jumped from the floor to the table and obediently shrank down, lying there and extending his paw. “Meow.” (I think my relationship with Cub is very deep. He surely won’t be able to bear it.)

Ning Yunyi’s smile deepened as he placed his hand on the paw. “Is that so?”

While he claimed not to believe it, his heart was actually a bit worried, otherwise he wouldn’t have let the big cat tell him himself.

Ning Yunyi took out a box of jade and began the final treatment. It took longer than before because he wanted to thoroughly repair the other’s sea of consciousness.

Zong Hao lay there without moving, afraid of disturbing Ning Yunyi. But thinking of the impending separation, he couldn’t help but look up. He saw Ning Yunyi with his eyes closed, fully focused, with one hand holding the jade and the other converting the spiritual energy into healing power to treat him.

Looking at Ning Yunyi, an unusually unfamiliar emotion surged into Zong Hao’s heart. He thought there was likely no one else in the world who was as good to him as the person before him. If they were to be friends, he only wanted to choose Ning Yunyi.

Once the final piece of jade was consumed, Ning Yunyi opened his eyes and looked at the big cat, who had fallen into self-healing.

He withdrew his hand and watched the cat, who was enveloped in a layer of mental power. He didn’t disturb him and stood there quietly. Thinking there was still some time, he headed downstairs to call the kitten up.

Once the big cat returned to human form, he could properly teach the little guy how to cultivate mental power. He knew nothing about it, and since the cat was leaving, he could pass on some experience so Ning Yunyi wouldn’t have labored for nothing.

Ning Yunyi found the little fellow scuttling around on his cat tree. After taking him to his room to change, he held his small hand and headed toward the study upstairs.

Ning Xiaomiao swung his father’s hand. “Father, what does Big Cat want to say to me? Does he also want Father to feed him? That’s not allowed. He’s a big cat now; how can he let someone feed him?”

Ning Yunyi let out a chuckle. “Don’t worry, he won’t.”

The little guy was finally at ease and burst into a smile, revealing two dimples as he pattered upstairs after his father.

Reaching the study door, Ning Yunyi knocked to remind the big cat. After a faint sound from within, he waited a moment. He had the kitten wait outside as he opened the door to take a look first, to see if the big cat had changed back.

As he poked his head in, he saw the big cat still lying there in a small ball. However, he was still enveloped in a layer of mental power. In the sunlight, his fur seemed to be glowing.

Ning Yunyi hadn’t expected the self-repair to take this long. He wasn’t in a hurry and watched curiously.

But in the next moment, he watched as the mental power around the big cat grew stronger and stronger. He could clearly feel that power, leaping from a low level and passing 3S-rank until Ning Yunyi could no longer tell what rank it was. He only knew it was continuing to rise.

Soon, as the mental power reached its peak, Ning Yunyi frowned in the next instant.

He watched in bewilderment as the originally grey-white fur of the peak-state big cat turned pitch black bit by bit.

At the same time, as if sensing something, the cat slowly opened its beast eyes, and a pair of emerald pupils met his own.
