Chapter 90: Entering the Secret Realm
The blizzard dissipated within seven days.
On the seventh day, the weather was clear and bright. The cultivators in Hanzhong City began to leave one after another, heading toward the place where the secret realm was about to open.
By the time they reached the snowy plains, the area was already crowded with people.
In the void directly above everyone, several patches of space were visibly distorted, forming transparent whirlpools that looked like heatwaves.
Something was gathering strength, trying to tear a gap through them.
“The secret realm is about to open. Everyone, once you’re inside, you must look out for one another. Keep your lives first! Only then can we talk about opportunities!”
In front of the Chongshan Sect group, Qiu Changzhou walked back and forth with his hands behind his back, looking very much like a principal giving a speech.
The Wenxin Secret Realm restricted cultivation levels; only those below the Yuanying stage could enter. If anyone else wanted to go in, they had to find ways to suppress their cultivation so the rules within the secret realm wouldn’t detect them.
This time, more than ten elders and immortals from the Chongshan Sect were accompanying them. A small portion would go in, while the rest would remain outside with Qiu Changzhou to stand guard.
Feng Shi sat on the levitating Wucheng. On one hand, he tuned one ear to listen to Qiu Changzhou’s “chicken soup” platitudes, while on the other, he swung his legs and sized up the various cultivators around him.
Beside him, Shen Songhe sat suspended in the air, his form hidden as usual.
After a while, Qiu Changzhou finished his speech. The crowd stood scattered, waiting for the entrance to the secret realm above their heads to open.
Feng Shi watched for a bit and found it dull. Bored, he began to play small games on the system panel.
Suddenly, a hand patted his shoulder.
“What are you dazing out for?”
Feng Shi exited the panel and saw that it was Xie Anhui. He smiled back and said, “Nothing. It’s just my first time entering a secret realm like this, so I’m a bit nervous.”
Since being beaten into a “chrysalis” by Yan Ze last time and witnessing Feng Shi’s genius-like progress, Xie Anhui’s resentment and jealousy had all turned into admiration. His favorability toward Feng Shi had skyrocketed, and he now almost regarded him as the goal to pursue.
“Don’t be afraid. We’ll all go in together when the time comes; nothing will happen.”
Xie Anhui offered words of comfort and instinctively moved to sit down next to Feng Shi.
Before Feng Shi could stop him, his bottom had already landed. Immediately following was a scream of agony.
How could Wucheng possibly allow anyone other than its master to sit on it? The sword body transformed, sprouting two sharp spikes. One on each side, they stabbed right into Xie Anhui’s buttocks.
Hearing the scream, everyone turned to look. Once they understood the situation, they were all caught between laughter and tears.
Feng Shi couldn’t hold it in either. He patted Wucheng’s blade, internally labeling Xie Anhui: Look at the cool and steady Eldest Shixiong of the Chongshan Sect, and how he somehow turned into the strongest ‘unlucky bystander’ in a single day.

The entrance to the secret realm opened that afternoon.
The inch-deep snow on the plains was swept away by the residual spiritual energy of the opening entrance, revealing the thick layer of ice beneath.
Everyone covered their faces with their hands and mobilized their spiritual energy to avoid the powerful impact head-on.
As the fluctuations gradually ceased, hundreds of large and small, bottomless circular holes appeared in the places where the sky had originally been distorted.
Seeing the entrances stabilize, the several rogue cultivators standing at the very front could no longer hold back. They flew up, picked the nearest entrance, and charged in with their swords.
After those few went in, the entrance contracted a few times. It looked as if it were about to close.
“Quick! Snatch the entrances!” someone suddenly shouted.
Only then did the surrounding people snap out of their daze. They took to their swords one after another, flying rapidly toward different entrances.
For a moment, sword light flickered above the snowy plains. Some cultivators were kicked down and overturned onto the ground as others fought for entrances, and curses filled the air.
Feng Shi also steered his sword toward an entrance.
Not far away, Qiu Changzhou and several elders had already taken control of a few entrances for the disciples to enter.
Feng Shi followed Xie Anhui and the others toward an entrance. Along the way, several bold rogue cultivators attacked, trying to push them down.
Feng Shi leaped up from his sword. Below him, Wucheng performed a rapid mid-air rotation, slicing horizontally and repelling a whole circle of attackers.
Those rogue cultivators were people who lived on the edge. For the sake of opportunities, they weren’t afraid of death and came forward again and again.
Feng Shi grew annoyed and didn’t linger. After a burst of spiritual power to suppress them, he accelerated to the entrance and leaped in.
Entering with him were nearly ten other disciples and several rogue cultivators.
After entering, Feng Shi looked back. He could see that not far away, dozens of entrances had been seized by suddenly appearing demon and monster cultivators. Many rogue cultivators instantly lost their chance to enter.
He didn’t look any longer before the entrance behind him closed into a single line, finally turning into a speck of light and vanishing.
Different entrances naturally meant different drop points.
Feng Shi and the others landed in front of a waterfall. They were surrounded by mountains on four sides, and directly ahead was a pool of deep, dark green water.
A wave of moist water vapor hit them, and the sound of the current covered all other noises.
The crowd landed one after another, looking around in various poses.
“Shidie.” Xiao Yuhui’s voice came from behind.
Feng Shi turned around, only to realize that through a stroke of luck, the two of them had actually entered the same entrance.
Looking again, nearly all of those ten-odd disciples were familiar faces.
Xie Anhui and Zhou Rurong were both there, but Xue Mei was missing. There were also three disciples from Sanyang Peak, three from Duanqi Peak, one from the Hehuan Sect, and five unnamed rogue cultivators.
He had met the Sanyang Peak disciples a couple of times because of Zhou Ying. The three from Duanqi Peak were Feng Shi’s old rivals. The Hehuan Sect disciple was naturally friendly with him, while the several rogue cultivators maintained a distant and cautious attitude, though they clearly recognized Feng Shi… or rather, the sword on his back.
Add to that the hidden Shen Songhe.
At this moment, fourteen people were staring at him in unison.
Feng Shi: “…”
But it was only for a moment. Soon, an older-looking rogue cultivator stepped forward and suggested, “Everyone, it seems we are fated. This secret realm is full of dangers. Why don’t we travel together? If we find any treasures or artifacts, we can split them equally.”
He looked to be about forty years old, with a small mustache and a simple, kind face. At least on the surface, he didn’t look like he had any ill intentions.
Seeing that no one present objected, the rogue cultivator continued, “If no one has any objections, this old man will volunteer to lead the way.”
Feng Shi had no objections.
His goal for this trip wasn’t necessarily any “opportunity”; he just wanted to quickly get the Huaihuan Grass. As for the location of the Huaihuan Grass, he would just follow the system’s guidance later.
The spiritual energy in this secret realm was incredibly abundant. The vegetation was lush, and there was no shortage of spiritual herbs growing.
The people around him were all “herb-illiterate,” and no one went out of their way to pick them.
Feng Shi harvested them secretly as they walked. For those that were inconvenient to get, he spent 10 points to have Qingqing help pick them. It could be considered a hidden harvest.
However, the strange thing was that during their entire journey, they hadn’t seen a single spiritual beast or monster. It was almost too peaceful.
When the sound of the waterfall behind them could no longer be heard, a lush green valley appeared before everyone.
And upon seeing the scene within that valley, everyone became even more uncertain, looking at one another in surprise. “This…”
Translator’s Note:
The Wenxin Secret Realm—”Wenxin” literally means “Questioning the Heart.” In these types of realms in cultivation novels, things are rarely what they seem! Also, “chicken soup” (雞湯) is a slang term for inspiring but often empty platitudes or motivational speeches. Xie Anhui being stabbed by the sword is honestly becoming a recurring theme at this point. Poor guy! See you in the next chapter!
