Chapter 18: Three Consecutive Victories part 1
Yun Yingzhi’s cheeks burned with a wave of heat; he felt quite ashamed.
It was one thing to be called “Battle Rabbit,” but adding the word “Little Cute” before it completely failed to showcase his aura of total badassery.
Yun Yingzhi was a bit unhappy, but he figured it would have to do.
His gaze shifted, landing on the referee who was already waiting on the combat platform.
What a coincidence—it was the same referee from the last match.
Yun Yingzhi also knew that this was the very referee who had come up with that nickname, causing everyone else to start calling him the “Little Battle Bunny” as well.
He was a bit angry, but there was nothing he could do about it except seethe with impotent fury in his heart.
In the second 3V3 match for Yun Yingzhi’s team, the opposing warriors were three males.
Yun Yingzhi was Level 5 while his two teammates were Level 3; the opposing trio had the exact same composition.
In the past, Yun Yingzhi’s first thought at the start of a battle might have been to use his Source Weapon. However, after the last match, he found the method of fighting with pure physical strength quite interesting. Thus, almost at the instant the battle began, he transformed into the thirty-centimeter-tall little white rabbit. The tiny white puffball shot out like an arrow from a bow, charging toward the opposing trio.
In this battle, the crowd once again realized just how powerful the little white rabbit’s physical strength truly was.
In this second match, the enemy team had a Limited Water-type Defensive Specialist who was the same level as Yun Yingzhi—Level 5.
As the little rabbit charged, a water curtain defense layer was established.
The little bunny swung his rabbit fist. Under that immense strength, the air itself seemed to distort before the defensive water curtain shattered instantly!
The little rabbit’s tiny, soft body “nuzzled” against the three men. His four tiny paws grabbed them, he leaped into the air, and then—slam!—he threw them down hard!
The little rabbit’s movements were incredibly fast. Ordinary people with poor dynamic vision could only see a blur.
But it didn’t matter; the tracking equipment captured every scene and played it back in slow motion on the projection screens surrounding the arena.
From the slow-motion scenes, the crowd could see the tiny white puffball. The sight of him clinging to the enemy warriors was simply too adorable; people wanted to scream and shout just looking at it!
They wanted to nuzzle him!
They wanted to nuzzle him so badly!!
They really, really wanted to nuzzle him!!!
Immediately after, the little rabbit used his strength to prove a saying:
The more beautiful something is, the more dangerous it is.
With the little rabbit’s heavy slam, the opposing warrior fell directly to the ground, unable to even stand back up.
The little rabbit tilted his tiny chin slightly and landed on the ground with pride.
The camera captured such a scene:
The little rabbit seemed very happy. He stood on a single tiny jiojio and performed a little spin.
Everything in the battle happened so fast that only a small portion of people caught this moment. However, the tracking equipment perfectly captured and displayed it.
Yun Yingzhi, still in the middle of the fight, was completely unaware of his “single-foot-standing spin.” His tiny body charged toward the second Ability Warrior at high speed.
His long ears twitched as he heard someone in the stands shouting loudly.
“My macho heart! This is exactly the kind of battle we macho men should be watching!”
Hearing this, Yun Yingzhi felt extremely proud. Although his strength was among the weakest in Fense Academy—and his combat classes only went well because his classmates went easy on him—at the Yaoming Battle Arena, he was actually very impressive! Hee hee hee!
With a surging heart, Yun Yingzhi’s tiny paws looked ferocious as he watched an opposing warrior leap into the air. He was just waiting to give him a heavy slam.
Then, Yun Yingzhi heard someone in the crowd shout at the top of their lungs: “Quick! Let the Little Battle Bunny win!”
“Once the Little Cute Bunny slams him down, he’ll do that single-foot spin again! Quick, let him win!”
Yun Yingzhi’s ears flickered. The entire rabbit was stunned. His four tiny paws let go, and both the rabbit and the man he had just hoisted up “crash-landed” simultaneously.
The little white rabbit was dazed and bewildered. His brain was in a state of utter trance. When did he ever stand on one foot and spin?
Him?
How could he possibly perform such an embarrassing act? Did they think he was a child?
In Yun Yingzhi’s daze, he heard the gasps of some people. “The Little Cute Bunny crash-landed!”
Yun Yingzhi indeed had a crash landing. His tiny body lay on the ground, his gaze blankly looking at the opponent who had fallen beside him.
The opposing warrior realized the power of this tiny white rabbit—especially its formidable close-combat ability. His first reaction was to retreat, put some distance between them, and launch a long-range attack.
The little rabbit still hadn’t snapped out of his trance.
Someone in the crowd began shouting accusations again: “Despicable!”
“Shameless!”
“How bold!”
“How can you attack the Little Cute Bunny while he’s in a crash-landed state?”
The little rabbit was still completely baffled.
Fortunately, A-Hao established an earthen wall to provide the first wave of defense.
Yun Yingzhi sniffled and finally snapped out of his state of shame. He looked around…
And as luck would have it…
The video projections in all directions were currently playing a replay.
The replayed footage showed the ferocious little rabbit grabbing an opponent, slamming them down hard, landing nimbly, and then spinning on a single tiny jiojio.
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Yun Yingzhi felt his cheeks go scorching hot. He felt as though he had lost all the face he would ever have in his entire life during this period.
How could he have done something so humiliating?
Huh?
Wha—?
Whaaaaat?!
Suffering a massive blow, Yun Yingzhi the rabbit pulled a “grumpy rabbit face.” His body wobbled, and he collapsed tragically onto the ground.
It must be said that one person’s tragedy is often another’s source of joy.
Following the rabbit’s collapse, a burst of thunderous laughter erupted from the stands.
There was no “most heartbreaking,” only “more heartbreaking.”
The referee said, “Everyone, look! Our Little Battle Bunny probably saw the classic replay and has now collapsed directly!” He added loudly, “And he even wobbled before going down!”
Yun Yingzhi: “…” Life is so freaking screwed up.
Just let it all end!
The stars, the sea… let it all be destroyed!
Then, Yun Yingzhi saw the scene of the rabbit wobbling and falling appearing on the projections in all directions.
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
So angry! How could they bully a little rabbit like this? He was just a soft, weak little rabbit!
Yun Yingzhi sniffled and stood his tiny body up. He decided to end this battle quickly and find a place to hide and lick his wounds.
His emotional wounds.
With this thought, his tiny body launched a fierce attack toward the enemy warriors.
Slam, slam, slam went the Little Battle Bunny!
About three minutes later, the battle finally ended.
The referee shouted loudly, “Congratulations to the Little Battle Bunny team for securing their second 3V3 victory of the day!”
To avoid anyone potentially recognizing his true self, he accurately leaped onto A-Qing’s head and urged in a low voice, “Let’s go, quick.”
The two humans and one rabbit who had secured the victory headed out through the special passage.
However, their departure could not stop the referee’s enthusiasm.
The referee proclaimed loudly, “This is the Little Battle Bunny’s first time at our Yaoming Battle Arena! Generally, those who come here have fierce beast or bird-of-prey Second Forms. Ability Warriors like the Little Battle Bunny usually fight in their human forms. Typically, a weak Second Form is inferior to the human form, but our Little Battle Bunny’s Second Form strength is truly immense! He truly lives up to his ID: One Mighty Little White Rabbit!”
As the referee finished, the arena filled with the crowd’s sky-shattering shouts.
“Little Battle Bunny!”
“Little Battle Bunny!”
Yun Yingzhi felt like his face was fully cooked by now. He pushed A-Qing with his tiny paws, signaling him to hurry up.
Finally, the two humans and one rabbit could no longer hear that impassioned referee’s voice.
This time, Yun Yingzhi didn’t go to the restroom. He directly found a secluded corner and transformed from his Second Form back into his human shape.
Yun Yingzhi tugged down the brim of his hat.
Previously, he didn’t want others to know he had come to the Yaoming Battle Arena because he was worried his battle record would dissatisfy General Yun and Madame Yun. Now, he didn’t want anyone to know his true identity—not because of his record, but because his behavior was too embarrassing.
