Chapter 40: Making Do with Chi Yuheng’s Clothes
Thinking that with Ye Ran’s personality, one post a day to his Moments was already “high productivity” and there wouldn’t be a second one, Chi Yuheng was surprised.
The moment he entered the app, the photos Ye Ran had posted popped up.
Chi Yuheng looked through them one by one. It seemed Ye Ran was indeed very happy.
The photos quickly reached the last one, and suddenly, those slender fingertips paused.
As if tripped up by something, his finger abruptly stopped on the screen. His gaze was locked firmly on the final photo.
There was a stranger in the photo; the smiling faces of three people appeared together in a single frame.
Who was this person?
His fingertips unconsciously rubbed against the screen as his gaze fell back onto the unfamiliar boy in the photo.

Chi Yuheng’s expression gradually darkened.
Was he happy because of this person?

After lunch, Shen Xie went to capture some inspiration, while Ye Ran and Xu Huiyang headed straight for the beach.
They had agreed to go surfing together, but it turned out Xu Huiyang had been boasting; he didn’t even know how to swim.
After being teased by Ye Ran for a while, he eventually headed to the shallow area with a little yellow duck lifebuoy around his waist.
There were quite a few people on the beach that afternoon. Ye Ran’s surfing maneuvers were skillful, and with such a handsome face, he drew a chorus of screams from the girls on the shore.
Ye Ran felt incredibly cool. His enthusiasm for surfing grew even stronger, giving off the vibe that this entire sea was under his dominion.
Xu Huiyang couldn’t use the lifebuoy forever, so he found an instructor to teach him how to swim. Hearing the screams from the beach, he turned his head to look, only to choke on a mouthful of water before he could even learn the doggy paddle.
Once Ye Ran had finished showing off, he carried his surfboard back to shore. Xu Huiyang immediately came over to brag that his learning progress was already showing initial success.
“Learning quite fast, aren’t you?”
Xu Huiyang tilted his head arrogantly. “It’s talent.”
Ye Ran’s eyes lit up. “Then do you have a talent for ‘shoveling sand’?”
“Huh?” Xu Huiyang froze for a moment, not catching on. “Shoveling sand? Shoveling what sand?”
Ye Ran didn’t explain. He reached out, grabbed a handful of fine, soft sand, and sprinkled it onto Xu Huiyang’s arm.
Once Xu Huiyang realized what was happening, he got fired up too.
The two had a match on the beach and ended up covered in sand. They returned to their rooms looking like a pair of “sand sculptures.”
Ye Ran took two showers before finally rinsing all the sand off his body. His bathrobe was draped loosely over him, and he held a towel to dry his damp short hair.
His gaze inadvertently swept across the suitcase by the bed, and he remembered he hadn’t unpacked yet.
Perfect—he needed to change into pajamas.
When the suitcase was opened, Ye Ran was dumbfounded.
Did someone swap his suitcase?!
The clothes inside weren’t his.
Ye Ran’s eyebrows knitted together, but the combination to the lock was correct. The suitcase was his, and so were the boxer briefs inside.
In other words, except for the underwear which was his, none of the other clothes belonged to him.
Wait, did the person who swapped the items just straight-up despise his underwear?
Damn it!
Ye Ran lifted the clothes out, prepared to toss them all into the trash can.
His hand stopped mid-air as he suddenly realized something was wrong. These clothes looked familiar.
The sizes were larger than his. There were mostly shirts and a few casual outfits.
Why did these clothes look so much like Chi Yuheng’s?
He had been in a rush to leave this morning. He had opened the closet and grabbed several items of clothing at random without looking at what they were.
That being said, why were Chi Yuheng’s clothes in his closet?!
Ye Ran tried to recall again and again. This shirt was the one he wore back after sleeping in Chi Yuheng’s room that one morning.
That outfit was from when they went out to eat and it was a bit cold; Chi Yuheng had only taken it halfway off to give to him, but he had impatiently stripped it off the man.
And another one…
Ye Ran hadn’t realized that he had unknowingly “borrowed” so many clothes from Chi Yuheng.
And at home, after the maid finished the laundry, she would return the clothes to whichever room she had taken them from.
Therefore, it wasn’t strange for Chi Yuheng’s clothes to appear in Ye Ran’s closet.
Ye Ran couldn’t just wear a pair of small boxers in the room. He picked a larger shirt from those clothes and put it on. The white shirt just happened to cover his butt, revealing two long, slender legs.
Looking at himself in the mirror and the shirt on his body, Ye Ran turned around and closed the suitcase.
He’d just make do.
