Chapter 4: Breakfast
Chu Yang didn’t really want to deal with him.
Ke Yuan stared at him for a few moments, his thoughts unreadable. The more he thought, the more his expression soured, his smile slowly fading.
The area around them had gone completely silent. Even Lin Zhiheng stopped what he was doing to look at Chu Yang, and then at Ke Yuan.
Chu Yang was baffled. Seeing Ke Yuan staring at him like that, one would think they were about to fight. He frowned and was about to speakā
Ke Yuan asked, “You don’t even remember my name, do you?”
“…” Chu Yang was almost amused by his irritation. “You have such a big mouth, who wouldn’t remember?”
Wasn’t Ke Yuan the guy from the building opposite? The one who flirtatiously called him “Baby” yesterday and got a face towel thrown at him.
Despite Chu Yangās insult, Ke Yuan wasn’t angry at all. Instead, he grinned, looking quite pleased. “What use is it if others remember?”
“I haven’t had breakfast either.” As he spoke, he reached for the food container Chu Yang had brought.
Lin Zhihengās movements stiffened, the veins on his arm bulging, but he didn’t stop him. Instead, he turned his head slightly to look at Chu Yang.
Chu Yang was looking down at his phone. In his view, since heād handed the container to Lin Zhiheng, it was Lin Zhihengās. As long as Lin Zhiheng didn’t object, he didn’t care.
Lin Zhiheng was waiting for Chu Yang to show some reaction, so Ke Yuan actually managed to take some food from the container.
Long after, Lin Zhiheng would think: if he hadn’t waited for Chu Yang to notice his unhappiness, if heād expressed himself directly to Chu Yang and took the initiative from the start, maybe everything that followed would have been different.
But then again, maybe not. After all, Chu Yang was truly… not interested in men at all. Yet he was surrounded by so many men, which was infuriating.
As if reacting slowly, Lin Zhiheng finally blocked Ke Yuanās hand on his second attempt. Ke Yuan knew when to stop.
Anyway, heād already eaten a shrimp roll. From the beginning, what he wanted to see was Chu Yangās attitude, to prove that Lin Zhiheng wasn’t special.
Chu Yang didn’t sense anything. Ke Yuan took the chance to chat more, mostly asking Chu Yang to play ball. That was their only shared activity, but the weather had been hot lately…
Sure enough, Chu Yang shook his head immediately. “Not going. Itās too hot.”
Besides, he had to go home to walk the dog.
Ke Yuan “tsked,” glancing at Chu Yangās fair, smooth arms.
He really didn’t know how this guy stayed so white despite playing ball with them all the time. The scary part was that the parts usually exposed to the sun didn’t even have a tan line. He couldn’t be secretly applying sunscreen in the dorm every time before a game, could he?
Ke Yuan didn’t ask directly. He leaned in and changed the subject. “What about gaming then? Will Yang-gege carry me?”
Chu Yang instantly leaned back, his brow furrowed. “What are you doing? Don’t gross me out.”
He wasn’t close to Ke Yuan to begin with; at most, theyād played ball and eaten together. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had to look twice to remember who he was. Truly annoying.
Ke Yuan wanted to say more, but the professor walked in. Chu Yang even gave him a push. “Turn around.”
Lin Zhiheng had also closed the food container.
However, not many people were focused on the interlude between Ke Yuan and Chu Yang. What they cared about wasāLin Zhiheng actually got Chu Yang to bring him breakfast. This made three groups of people anxious.
The first group was “fake-anxious”āfans who had shipped Chu Yang with others early on. They got excited whenever Chu Yang spoke to anyone.
In their eyes, Chu Yang was on a completely different level of beauty compared to everyone else.
Fair, tender, and athletic. In a crowd of tall, tanned men, he looked like a little kitten.
Dazzlingly white, with long limbs. When he jumped for a shot, a patch of smooth waist and abdomen would be exposed, causing the basketball gym to erupt in screams.
Those who liked this type loved it; those who didn’t couldn’t find any flaws either. Who wouldn’t love this? But some felt that having a boyfriend way prettier than themselves was a bit much to handle.
The second group was truly anxious. A while ago, they thought Chu Yang liked the “mature sister” type, so many older girls wanted to flirt with him.
After watching Chu Yangās stream recently, they discovered he might like the “younger sister” type because he loved being called Gege.
They all knew Chu Yang streamed. Many had gone to his stream to tease him, peeking at his shy expressions through the lens.
Who would have thought thereād be such a plot twist today? The “little straight man” brought breakfast for Lin Zhiheng. Was he being tricked by his roommate, or was there some actual spark?
It was always others sending Chu Yang breakfast and water; when had it ever been the other way around? And heād brought it from home. Anyone would be green with envy.
There was also a third group, waiting for their chance. Previously, theyād given up because Chu Yang was merciless in rejecting men. Now, everything was back on the table.
As soon as class ended, someone bumped Chu Yangās shoulder as he left, nearly knocking him into Lin Zhihengās arms. Lin Zhiheng quickly reached out to steady his shoulders.
Chu Yang shook him off, rubbed his shoulder, and frowned. “What was that for?”
The manās throat bobbed. He looked at the protruding knuckles of Chu Yangās hand on his shoulder, then at that vibrant, stunning face. “Wanna play ball?”
“No. Going back to the dorm for a nap.” Chu Yang wrinkled his nose and pulled away, walking off with large strides.
“Don’t be like that! Not at the court, letās play in the gym. Itās not hot!” The man chased after him for a couple of steps but was blocked by Lin Zhiheng, who gave him a fierce glare.
The man wasn’t to be outdone, glaring back and then casting a look at the food container in Lin Zhihengās hand.
“…”
By now, almost everyone following Chu Yang knew about the morningās events, including Si Yao and Xie An back at the dorm. So, the moment Chu Yang entered the door, he was met with… accusing glares?
They looked like two pets that had fought to a stalemate and were waiting for their owner to come and judge. But there was no hostility between them; their unfriendly gazes were directed at Lin Zhiheng behind Chu Yang.
But that wasn’t the point right now.
Accusing eyes turned to Chu Yang. Si Yao spoke first. “Why did you bring him breakfast?”
Si Yao looked explosive, and his temper truly wasn’t great. When he lowered his brows, he looked very fierce.
Xie An was the one who often did Chu Yangās homework. He had a very gentle personality. Seeing Chu Yang frown, he paused. No matter how unhappy he was, he suppressed it and said, “Itās normal to bring breakfast. Lin Zhiheng often brings it for Xiao Yang; itās no big deal if Xiao Yang returns the favor once.”
The fire in Si Yaoās heart almost sputtered out. He felt Xie An was even more hypocritical. Earlier, when Chu Yang hadn’t returned and they were scrolling through the forum posts, Xie An didn’t have this face at all.
Now that heād questioned Chu Yang first, Xie An came out to play the “good guy” and build a better image in front of Chu Yang!
This scheming green tea man!
Chu Yangās expression indeed softened after Xie An spoke. He explained, “I had an early class with him, so I just brought some. Iām going home again tonight. If you guys want some… I don’t have an early class tomorrow, but if you don’t mind it being cold, Iāll bring some.”
After all, these three took turns bringing him breakfast. Sometimes they even overlapped, leaving him staring blankly at three breakfasts on his desk.
These three went for morning runs every day. After running, theyād stop by the cafeteria, so they rarely needed anyone to bring them food.
At first, Chu Yang thought they went together, but it turned out they each worked out separately.
As if theyād ever mind. Xie An immediately said, “Itāll get warm after chewing it for a while. People say it looks very exquisite; I really want to try it.”
His gaze lingered on the food container for a second, his lips curving up.
Si Yao: “I want some too!”
Chu Yang nodded. “Fine. Iāll bring some for you tomorrow.”
Those two were all smiles now, while Lin Zhihengās face was dark. To say he had no ulterior motives would be a lie.
Breakfast, brought to the classroom, in front of so many peopleāwasn’t it just to make people misunderstand his relationship with Chu Yang? Chu Yang might not see it, but how could Xie An not?
The dorm AC was on at just the right temperature. Chu Yang took his pajamas to the bathroom to change, washed his face, and couldn’t wait to get into bed.
His shorts were very short, his legs being long and thin. With a reach and a couple of steps, he nimbly scrambled up. He was extremely agile, but he must have pressed against something because he hissed. He knelt there feeling around, his arches tensed, and further up was… very full…
Not only that, the trouser legs were loose. Looking up… everything was visible…
Delicate skin was dotted with a few faint blue veins, looking incredibly erotic.
Si Yao stood up abruptly. Clang! He hit his head hard against the bed frame. He hissed and sat back down, for a moment not knowing whether to cover his nose or his head.
Chu Yang was startled by the noise and instinctively turned around. With the turn, he nearly fell off. He quickly grabbed the railing, butāa pair of hands was faster, gripping his waist and lifting him back into the bed.
This time, Chu Yang was truly frightened. He reflexively kicked backward. The sole of his foot pressed directly against someoneās nose. The dorm went dead silent.
Chu Yang scrambled forward a couple of steps. Looking back, he realized the one whose face heād stepped on was… Lin Zhiheng…?
Just now, Lin Zhihengās face must have been right against there. At that thought, his face turned from red to white. “What are you doing?!”
Lin Zhiheng was like a statue. After several seconds, he touched his nose and said, “Feared youād fall.”
His voice was as quiet as a mosquitoās. Having said that, he immediately put down the food container and headed for the balcony. Chu Yang figured he was impatient to wash his face. That kick hadn’t been light; the arch of his foot still felt a bit swollen from where it hit Lin Zhihengās nose.
Chu Yangās eyes searched his desk for wet wipes.
The next second, Xie An held out two wet wipes in front of him. Just as his hand reached up, Chu Yang, like a startled cat, snatched them away impatiently. “Thanks.”
Xie An: “…”
As soon as Lin Zhiheng reached the balcony, he gasped for air. He wasn’t actually in a rush to wash his face. Just now, fearing Chu Yang would fall, heād grabbed his waist without thinking. His nose… seemed to have brushed against that place…
He wasn’t sure; it was too surreal. Just now, his nose was filled with the scent of Chu Yangās body, so much so that he couldn’t judge if heād actually touched him or if it was a fantasy.
Maybe it was just because it was too close… and Chu Yangās waist was so thin…
The more Lin Zhiheng thought, the heavier his breathing became. His nose felt sharp and itchy. He pressed it, and then warm liquid dripped onto the back of his hand.
“…”
He cursed under his breath and quickly turned on the tap to wash it off. His body temperature wouldn’t go down no matter what. Heaven knows what he was thinkingāmaybe it was Chu Yangās legs, or maybe it was that kick.
