The Straight Man Is A Heartthrob Again Chapter 10

Chapter 10: School Infirmary

Fortunately, it wasn’t serious. Her ankle was just slightly sprained. After icing it for a while, the school doctor brought some spray-on medicine.

Worried she was enduring the pain, Chu Yang even asked the doctor to prescribe some painkillers just in case.

The girl had her shoe off and was pressing the ice against the injury. Chu Yang looked on… it wouldn’t be right for him to do it himself… He asked again, “Is your shoulder really okay?”

The girl shook her head. “It’s really fine. I just got startled and that’s why I twisted my foot.”

Chu Yang nodded. “Okay.”

“I still have to apologize to you. I’m sorry you got hit. Will it affect your classes tomorrow? I…”

The girl quickly shook her head. “It’s fine. I don’t have class tomorrow. I was planning to go home today anyway.”

She was terrified Chu Yang would offer to escort her to class. While… it was quite heart-stirring, it would also be too eye-catching.

She naturally knew who Chu Yang was and how famous he was at school.

Upon hearing her words, Chu Yang immediately said, “Then I’ll drive you back. I happened to drive to school today, so it’s convenient.”

“By the way, what’s your major and your name? Was there something urgent at the gym? Do you need me to help…”

“No, no. I was going to the gym to find someone. I’ll just send her a text later. It’s nothing.” The girl said quickly, then added softly, “My name is Ji Zhenyi.”

“Okay.” Chu Yang wanted to exchange contact info, but a pat of his pockets reminded him his things were still at the gym. “Do you have anything else to do later?”

Ji Zhenyi shook her head. “No.”

Chu Yang: “Then I’ll go to the dorm to get my keys and then drive you home. Wait for me.”

Ji Zhenyi: “Okay.”

Chu Yang walked out quickly but was blocked as soon as he stepped through the door.

“Where are you going in such a rush?”

It was Ke Yuan. He hadn’t been seen on the court earlier, yet here he was. With a glance to the side, Chu Yang saw—great, they were all here.

Are they standing guard at the infirmary?

Chu Yang reached out and took his phone. “Thanks. Why are you all here?”

Ke Yuan looked down at him. “We just got to the gym and saw you carrying someone away, so we came over.”

The game was only halfway through, but it wasn’t a formal match, and Chu Yang hadn’t planned on playing the second half anyway.

He took his phone and glanced at Lin Zhiheng. This guy was currently holding Chu Yang’s mini-fan and fanning himself.

Lin Zhiheng met Chu Yang’s gaze and naturally walked to his side, holding the fan and pointing it at Chu Yang.

Chu Yang: ‘…..’

That wasn’t what he meant, but whatever…

He looked at the group of people in front of him, his voice flat. “Who threw the ball? Go inside and apologize.”

The ball had been moving so fast. If she hadn’t been far away, the injury would likely have been much worse.

He lowered his brows, and in an instant, the sunshine disappeared, replaced by cold sharpness.

None of them had seen Chu Yang like this before. They were stunned for a moment, then realized he was truly angry.

Immediately, one guy stood up and apologized to Chu Yang first. “I’m sorry. It slipped out of my hand. I’ll go apologize to her now.”

The guy’s attitude was sincere enough. Chu Yang nodded and said to the others, “Go back and play. I’m not playing the second half.”

With that, he turned and walked toward a vending machine a few steps away. Before long, he had purchased five bottles of drinks.

He cradled them in his arms, making no move to share them with the guys following him. He walked back into the infirmary and gave them to Ji Zhenyi. “I don’t know what you like, but these are all pretty good. Try them.”

“I’m going back to the dorm for my keys now.” Chu Yang put the items down and left.

Water, milk, grape juice, coconut water, and a tea drink.

Ji Zhenyi stared at the items in a daze, eventually picking up the grape drink to have a sip.

A short while later, a girl came to the infirmary to find her, drenched in sweat. “Are you okay? You scared me to death! If I’d known, I wouldn’t have asked you to help me save a seat.”

Ji Zhenyi shook her head. “It’s fine.”

“What do you mean ‘fine’? It’s all red! Where’s the person who hit you? Didn’t you say someone brought you here? Did he just leave as soon as you got here?”

The girl was a bit angry. she had two extra classes this afternoon, and hearing Chu Yang was at the gym, she thought of asking Ji Zhenyi to save a seat. She was full of guilt that Ji Zhenyi had been hit because of it. “Weren’t you going home later? I’ll take you back. If you need anything from the dorm, I’ll go get it now. I’m so sorry; you wouldn’t have been injured if it wasn’t for me.”

“It’s really okay. The person who brought me here was Chu Yang.”

The girl was stunned, her eyes wide as she looked at Ji Zhenyi.

Seeing her expression, Ji Zhenyi couldn’t help but smile. “He went back for his keys and said he’d drive me home later. You just need to bring me my tablet.”

“….It was really Chu Yang…?”

Ji Zhenyi: “Yeah. He’s actually very nice. He even carried me here.”

“Holy crap! Then these drinks… he bought them too?”

Ji Zhenyi nodded. “Yes. You can have one, but only one.”

“I love you so much, ahhhh!” She quickly grabbed the coconut water. After confirming Ji Zhenyi was truly okay, she stood up quickly. “I’m going to the dorm to get your tablet now. I’ll be right back.”

With that, she bolted out.

Ji Zhenyi actually let out a laugh this time.

When Chu Yang left the infirmary again, his three guardian deities followed him back to the dorm. At the moment, he wasn’t in the mood to ask why they were following him. He walked fast, clutching his phone with a serious expression.

The jersey looked loose on him. In the stifling heat, having run around so much, the tips of his hair were damp. He brushed his hair back, looking somewhat unhappy.

He encountered many people on the way. Those who saw him were struck by his beauty, but because his expression was so sour, no one dared to greet him. Most had already seen the discussions on the forum, and more than a few were heartbroken.

Chu Yang took his clothes into the bathroom, washed his face, and changed. When he came out, the three of them were staring at him. He put on his shoes and said, “I’m leaving.”

He didn’t even take his mini-fan back from Lin Zhiheng. Normally, he would use the fan all the way to the parking lot. Everyone knew this guy was afraid of the heat.

The dorm was oppressive. All three were in a bad mood. Outside the court, they had been staring fixedly at that figure inside. They had noticed far more than the other spectators.

When the jersey lifted, it wasn’t just his abs that were visible; when the wind caught the fabric, one could see the rise and fall of his chest and a flash of red…

How did he dare to come to the court dressed like that? And yet, he was oblivious, even fanning himself with the hem of his shirt.

At that moment, the same thought crossed all three minds—I really want to fck him!*

When the ball flew toward Chu Yang, their hearts tightened, but they hadn’t expected that after dodging it, he would take a girl to the infirmary—and carry her there.

In that moment, the heart of every man who liked Chu Yang probably trembled. How was this encounter any different from the start of a romance?

The three of them stood frozen for a second, their minds in a whirl. By the time they reacted and tried to follow, Chu Yang had already run off with the girl on his back.

The group followed to the infirmary door, listening to the questioning and apologies inside… then Chu Yang buying drinks and offering to drive her home—what a perfect development…

And since the other party was a girl, they were all worried Chu Yang would feel a spark…

The forum was also practically smoking from the discussion.

When Chu Yang returned to the infirmary, Ji Zhenyi’s roommate was already there. Ji Zhenyi didn’t want Chu Yang to carry her to the parking lot. After hesitating, she said, “Yu-yuan can just help me over. it’s not that serious.”

Chu Yang understood she didn’t want to be carried, but hopping that distance might worsen the injury. After thinking for a bit, he said, “Wait for me a moment.”

As soon as he left, Yu-yuan let out a huge sigh and said to Ji Zhenyi: ” I’ve never been that close to him before. When you said ‘help me,’ I already imagined us each supporting you on one side, boohoo—”

Ji Zhenyi: “….Am I an elder to you two? Both of you supporting me…”

Yu-yuan immediately gave her a nudge. “If you say that, I’ll really think the two of us are walking you down the aisle to get married, and you’re the witness.”

Ji Zhenyi: “…..”

Yu-yuan: “By the way, where did he go? He couldn’t be using ‘money power’ to drive the car right to the infirmary door, could he?”

Ji Zhenyi was also a bit curious, but she didn’t think Chu Yang would do that. She shook her head. “I don’t think so. He’s not that high-profile.”

“Eh—you actually know that? I thought you didn’t pay much attention to him.”

Ji Zhenyi: “…..”

She just wasn’t as overtly enthusiastic as the others…

Ten minutes later, Chu Yang returned. He came back with a bicycle. Yu-yuan looked at Ji Zhenyi and then at Chu Yang—this time, she was truly envious!!

Chu Yang tilted his head and looked at the hesitating Ji Zhenyi. “I’m very steady on a bike too.”

“Mm, okay…” Ji Zhenyi’s face was a bit red.

A crowd had gathered outside the infirmary at some point. Yu-yuan quickly helped Ji Zhenyi onto the back seat of Chu Yang’s bike.

Chu Yang confirmed she was seated steadily and added, “You can hold onto me. I’m not ticklish.”

Ji Zhenyi: “Okay.”

The car door opened, and Ji Zhenyi discovered the AC was already on, making it very cool inside.

Chu Yang helped her into the passenger seat, then turned to return the bicycle to someone before taking the driver’s seat. He was still carrying the medicine.

Ji Zhenyi’s heart still hadn’t settled. Her hand gripped the seatbelt tightly as she quietly observed Chu Yang through the rearview mirror.

No wonder so many people liked him…

The ride was silent. Perhaps fearing awkwardness, Chu Yang turned on some music.

After dropping Ji Zhenyi home, Chu Yang was impatient to get home and shower. Normally, he would have showered and changed right after playing ball; he had been holding it in until now.

No one was home except the dog. He stripped off his clothes as he headed upstairs and went straight into the bathroom.

The sound of splashing water began. His lean waist was hidden by the door…

Meanwhile, at the hospital, someone was tracing the page where Chu Yang had signed his name. His number was also on it. He looked at it several times, memorizing it, and resisted the urge to look it up immediately.

Pei Xilin was not completely safe yet. He didn’t dare risk saving Chu Yang’s number in his phone, nor did he dare stay here too long.

After clearing any traces of his presence, he left. He reappeared in a rental room so sparse it had nothing but a bed and a desk, though it was very clean.

He contacted his subordinates, then opened his laptop to start looking up information on Chu Yang.
