Chapter 65: Go Die
When Wen Yuhuai woke up again, he was back in the familiar bedroom.
The curtains were drawn tight, allowing not a single ray of light to penetrate. Daytime felt like night, with only a small nightlight left on by the bedside.
The clothes on his body had been changed into comfortable pajamas. A glass of water was placed by the bedside. He reached out to touch it; it was warm.
The light was too dim. Wen Yuhuaiās hand fumbled around for a while before finding the light switch. He pressed it, and his pupils suddenly constricted.
Gu Yanxiu was actually sitting on the sofa not far away!
Wen Yuhuai didn’t care about his still-dizzy head. He scrambled off the other side of the bed in a flurry. Without even putting on shoes, he stumbled toward the door. But how could he possibly outrun Gu Yanxiu?
He was easily picked up by the waist from behind and tossed back onto the large bed, his entire body bouncing a few times on the mattress.
“Running as soon as you see me… Baby, you really make me sad.”
Wen Yuhuaiās head was already dizzy; being thrown onto the bed like that made him feel as if his brains had been scrambled. He lay on the covers, gasping for breath, unable to recover for a long time.
No one spoke in the room. The atmosphere was dead silent.
After an unknown amount of time, Wen Yuhuai finally managed to prop up his upper body and sit up. However, he didn’t even look at the person standing by the bed. With a pale face, he got off the bed and once again staggered toward the door.
But the door wouldn’t turn.
The door that normally opened with a gentle twist of the handle was now dead-locked. No matter how he operated it, it remained motionless.
The sound of footsteps rang out, approaching him unhurriedly, carrying the leisure of a cat playing with a mouse.
“Angry? You won’t even talk to me?”
Wen Yuhuai only bit his lower lip hard, still fruitlessly trying to pry the door handle.
He pried and pried until, finally losing his patience, he slammed his fist into it.
The door handle was made of alloy. With just one hit, the skin over the knuckles of Wen Yuhuaiās hand broke. Piercing blood seeped steadily from the wound.
Gu Yanxiuās expression changed instantly. He pulled the person into his arms with one hand, ignoring his struggle to forcibly restrain that bleeding hand. Without a word, he pulled out a key to open the door and dragged him directly out of the room.
Wen Yuhuai was pressed onto the sofa. He watched with a wooden expression as Gu Yanxiu fumbled through a cabinet for a medical kit and strode toward him.
Perhaps out of rebellion, Wen Yuhuai put his hand behind his back when he saw him approaching. The wound brushed against the back of the sofa, leaving a striking mark on it.
Gu Yanxiu knelt on one knee in front of him and finally spoke. “Put your hand out. Iāll bandage it for you.”
Wen Yuhuai just looked at him quietly, his eyes filled with cold disgust. “No need for you to be so hypocritical here.”
Gu Yanxiu opened the medical kit and took out the necessary items. Without hesitation, he grabbed the boy’s wrist. “Treat the wound first. You can vent your anger on me however you like.”
Wen Yuhuai only sneered. “If I told you to go die, would you?”
Deception, imprisonment, kidnapping, playing him for a fool like a dogājust thinking about what this man had done to him made Wen Yuhuai want to strangle him with his own hands.
Gu Yanxiuās dark, thick eyelashes trembled almost imperceptibly. The hand holding the medical cotton swab also froze awkwardly in mid-air.
After a long while, he slowly lowered his hand and raised his eyelashes, revealing most of his dark pupils. He actually began to laugh.
While laughing, he leaned in. Like a cold, venomous snake, he spoke softly into Wen Yuhuaiās ear:
“Of course. As long as A-Yu stays with me, Iām willing to do anything.”
Wen Yuhuaiās chest heaved violently. He gritted his teeth and kicked the man in the chest. “Psycho.”
“Baby is right. I am indeed a psycho.”
Gu Yanxiu responded nonchalantly. Then, he seized the opportunity to grab the boy’s ankle and rested it in the crook of his arm. In this position, he drew closer bit by bit until his chest was pressed against Wen Yuhuaiās inner thigh.
Wen Yuhuai was forced into this wide-open posture. His eyes widened uncontrollably, and he reflexively kicked his leg, wanting to pull it back. Gu Yanxiu, however, pushed forward further.
He didn’t ask for permission again. Instead, taking advantage of the moment the boy was dazed, he directly grabbed his forearm and pulled that hand from behind his back.
Then, with gentle movements, he disinfected it with medical cotton swabs, applied medicine, and wrapped the entire hand in a layer of bandage.
“That’s more like it. No matter what, don’t use your own body as a bargaining chip. If you’re angry, vent it on me. Doesn’t it hurt when you’re injured?”
Wen Yuhuaiās other, uninjured hand clenched into a fist and swung out without warning. Gu Yanxiu reflexively dodged to the side but still couldn’t avoid it. The fist brushed past the corner of his lip, leaving a clear mark.
Gu Yanxiu didn’t care about the wound at the corner of his mouth. He only reached out to touch it, then unhurriedly lowered his head to pack the medical kit.
After this commotion, Wen Yuhuai finally quieted down. The double exhaustion of spirit and body meant he could no longer make any more extreme reactions. He simply closed his eyes to rest, leaving Gu Yanxiu ignored.
Gu Yanxiu was sensible enough not to stay and continue disturbing him. He picked up the medical kit and left.
Perhaps the side effects of the injected drug were still there. Leaning on the sofa, Wen Yuhuai actually fell asleep without realizing it. When he woke up again, he had been carried back to the bed.
Gu Yanxiu lay quietly beside him, one arm draped over his waist, embracing him in a highly possessive posture.
The moment Wen Yuhuai moved, Gu Yanxiu noticed. The arm around his waist reflexively tightened a bit. His voice carried the laziness and slight raspiness of someone who had just woken up. “Awake?”
“Are you hungry?”
Wen Yuhuai ignored him, forcefully broke free from his embrace, and sat up. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom on his own.
By the time he came back out, Gu Yanxiu had already sat up. He looked as though he were about to get out of bed and leave.
“What do you want to eat tonight? Iāll make it.”
He didn’t expect an answer when he asked this question. He only checked the time and walked out, planning to make a few nourishing dishes to build up Wen Yuhuaiās health. He never expected that Wen Yuhuai would actually call out to him from behind.
“Gu Yanxiu.”
Gu Yanxiu turned back in surprise and joy. “A-Yu.”
There was no more anger or despair on Wen Yuhuaiās face. He only tilted his head slightly, appearing purely curious. “Are you planning to keep me locked up like this forever?”
Gu Yanxiu opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but before he could make a sound, Wen Yuhuai continued on his own:
“Do you know why I went to the basement? Fu Xingjian told me. He already knows you have me locked up here. How long do you think it will take for him to find his way here?”
