Chapter 37: Just a Substitute
The intense scent of absinthe swept through the entire flight vehicle. Liang Yuhang simply looked at him with that same cold expression.
Mu Feng’s lips parted. “Neither.”
The other man’s sense of pressure was too strong. Combined with the natural repulsion between two Alphas, even with his suppression bracelet on, he could only control himself from striking back.
But this kind of pain gave rise to a suffocating pleasure.
It’s over, I’m going to heaven.
“What do you mean by neither?” Liang Yuhang seemed to be doing a reading comprehension exercise. “Not playing with me, or not baiting me?”
Mu Feng reached out and grabbed his wrist, letting him feel his body temperature. “You suddenly releasing pheromones seems more like you’re playing with me… like you’re seducing me.”
He was quite the expert at turning the tables.
Liang Yuhang: “…”
Mu Feng decided to just twist the facts and talk nonsense. “You said before that there’s a difference between Alphas and Omegas, yet you’re doing this while I’m vulnerable. If that’s not seducing me, what is?”
For the first time, Liang Yuhang felt speechless and frustrated.
Mu Feng’s eyes sparkled as he looked at him. “Are you secretly in love with me?”
“Did you inject the reagent into your brain?”
Liang Yuhang with restraint pulled back all his pheromones, his expression appearing calm. “I have no interest in dating.”
No interest is fine, I can always try again.
Mu Feng didn’t feel hurt at all. He had seen the way Liang Yuhang rejected others; it was much fiercer.
This was already very gentle.
“But what should I do? My situation is even more serious now.” Mu Feng’s tone was a bit troubled. “I need an Alpha.”
Liang Yuhang: ?
He actually managed to say such a thing with such a “fresh and refined” air.
By now, the sun had almost completely set. They had agreed to watch the scenery, but they hadn’t; they had just spent the whole time staring at each other.
Liang Yuhang closed the hatch, acting as if he hadn’t heard, and restarted the vehicle.
Mu Feng repeated from the side, “The suppressants aren’t very useful. I need an Alpha. Didn’t you say I should just say what I want directly?”
Good. He’s using everything I taught him right back on me.
Liang Yuhang’s lips curled slightly. “Go find your secret crush.”
Mu Feng said, “He’s a secret crush. How could he possibly help me?”
“Then you expect me to help you?” Liang Yuhang’s voice grew colder. “I told you, don’t treat me as someone else.”
Mu Feng felt a surge of emotion from Liang Yuhang.
This man was truly cold. Most of the time, he was indifferent with a subtle hint of disdain toward others, but his emotions were exceptionally stable.
However, every time it was mentioned that he was being treated as someone else, he got angry.
Ah… was my approach wrong before?
Baiting him was useless, seducing him was useless. For someone who followed the “Path of No Emotion,” I should use “Demonic Cultivation” tactics.
What does a top-tier Alpha love most? A challenge, and possession.
Mu Feng had a sudden flash of inspiration and spoke slowly, “But you and him… are indeed a bit similar. So… I’m sorry, Teacher Liang. I shouldn’t have been like this.”
Liang Yuhang let out a soft scoff. “Similar how?”
“Similar age, both have cold personalities, both are good-looking… and even the pheromones are the same style.”
Mu Feng almost blurted out Liang Yuhang’s name.
No one likes to be exactly like someone else, Liang Yuhang included. “You’re making it up, aren’t you? It’s been so long, yet I’ve never seen this person.”
“Because he’s no longer in the Eighth Galaxy, and… he’s forgotten me.” Mu Feng turned his head, his tone incredibly sincere. “So, I often… use you as a substitute.”
Liang Yuhang: “…”
He recalled Mu Feng’s previous obedient behavior—wanting a hug, wanting candy, wanting a kiss in the middle of the night, needing to be coaxed when he cried.
It was all because he was treating him as someone else.
Mu Feng added, “Anyway, you have no intention of dating, and I don’t have to worry about hurting you. Isn’t it a win-win?”
Liang Yuhang was truly rendered silent again and again today.
He wanted to tell Mu Feng that this was wrong, but he couldn’t find a suitable reason. It was just a fantasy, and he hadn’t actually done anything. Not letting someone think something seemed petty.
But he really didn’t like it.
Liang Yuhang’s lips curled slightly. “I don’t get any benefit from this.”
“You do. I can transfer the kindness I have for him to you.” Mu Feng carefully hid his own little scheme. “For example, I’m very good at cooking. I can make special meals for you.”
Who wants your food?
Liang Yuhang’s lips tightened into a thin line, and he remained silent for nearly five minutes. “No need. Get those strange thoughts out of your head.”
Mu Feng sighed. “That’s going to be hard. The thought is already implanted, deeply rooted.”
“If you keep this up, I’ll transfer you to someone else,” Liang Yuhang threatened.
“No, don’t send me away! I admire you the most!” These words indeed hit Mu Feng’s weak spot. He didn’t want to overplay his hand. He said aggrievedly, “I’ll try my best not to think about it.”
“Try your best.” Liang Yuhang clicked his tongue.
He had really ended up with a troublesome student—one who admired him but at the same time treated him as someone else.
Forget it. I doubt he’d dare to actually do anything.
He was still annoyed though.
Liang Yuhang pushed the speed to the limit. The journey that was supposed to take an hour and a half took only forty-five minutes.
He parked the flight vehicle. Seeing that the other person wasn’t moving, he turned his head. “Let’s go.”
“My legs are still a bit weak… because your pheromones earlier were too intense.” Mu Feng’s words were half-true. When he looked up at him, he looked like a small kitten.
Liang Yuhang stared into his eyes.
Those light green pupils… who were they looking through him to see?
It was one thing for Mu Feng to fantasize by himself, but why did he have to say it out loud?
Liang Yuhang felt irritated and lowered his gaze. “There’s no point in me sitting here with you. Go back and use a suppressant.”
“But I have to get out first.” Mu Feng emphasized again, “My legs are weak. It’s okay, you don’t have to worry about me anymore.”
Liang Yuhang nodded. “Fine. I’ll have Little Jiang come over.”
“No!” Mu Feng reached out and grabbed his sleeve. “If Little Jiang finds out we went to watch the sunset together, he’ll kill me and curse you.”
Liang Yuhang saw through his thoughts. “Do you want me to carry you in?”
“Can you? Would it be too much trouble?” Mu Feng suddenly became very polite.
“Isn’t that what you were thinking?” Liang Yuhang reached out and patted his face. “And then you’ll swap my face with someone else’s.”
Mu Feng thought to himself that he really seemed to care about this matter.
I’ve caught you, Teacher Liang.
He blinked slowly. “No, I wouldn’t dare. My legs are really just weak.”
The sky had darkened. Liang Yuhang stood in a stalemate with him for nearly ten minutes before going around to the other side to open the hatch. He bent down and carried the person out.
Since they were at the base, he still couldn’t be too conspicuous. He took the back door and swiped his restricted-access card.
Mu Feng hooked his arms around his neck, feeling so happy he was about to faint. 0717? 0717, are you there?
A princess carry! Quick, take a picture for me!
“No wild thoughts allowed,” Liang Yuhang warned.
“No, really, none.” Mu Feng leaned against his shoulder, the scent of absinthe still lingering on his nose. “You smell so good.”
Liang Yuhang’s brow twitched.
The pheromones… they’re exactly like that other person’s too.
This situation was a dead end. An unsolvable dead end.
He closed his eyes and threatened him, “Say that again and I’ll drop you.”
Mu Feng knew exactly how to read the situation. He had reached the limit. If he provoked him any further, Liang Yuhang would truly ignore him.
Liang Yuhang dropped him off at the corner near the dorm entrance. “This is close enough. It’s just a few steps.”
Mu Feng nodded. Just as he was about to step back, he looked up again. “Wait… do I have your pheromones on me?”
He did. He had been quite aggressive earlier; the entire flight vehicle had been filled with the scent of absinthe.
Mu Feng added, “If I go back like this, within three seconds, the entire base will know we’ve been fooling around.”
Liang Yuhang: “…Watch your choice of words.”
“What should we do?” Mu Feng looked at him. “How do we handle this?”
These words really made it sound like they had an affair and he was asking his lover to handle the aftermath.
Liang Yuhang didn’t take the bait, simply asking him back, “What do you want to do? I know—use this opportunity to come back with me and move in, and then at night, you’ll treat me as someone else and give me a kiss, right?”
Mu Feng had never heard him speak with such resentment before and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
He obediently held his hands together; they still had the red marks from earlier, which were enough to make anyone’s imagination run wild.
“Let me stay for one night. If you’re not comfortable, you can tie me up.”
