Chapter 43: Isn’t It Enough for You to Toss Around?
Ye Ran’s voice wasn’t small, allowing the two who were still in the voice chat with him to hear clearly.
Xu Huiyang asked curiously: “If it’s not the delivery, who is it? Did a wolf find your room, bro?”
Chi Youchu: “My brother and your brother are both outside and haven’t returned yet. It’s definitely not them. Let me take a blind guess—Ye the Third was probably scared by a passing janitor.”
Xu Huiyang followed up, “He was just scared, why hasn’t he come back? We’re still waiting for him to start the next round.”
At this moment, Ye Ran’s little heart was pounding wildly. After a while, he glared at Chi Yuheng outside the door and spoke again, “Didn’t you go to inspect the island? Why are you standing guard outside my door like a door god? Who are you trying to scare to death?!”
Chi Yuheng stood outside the door. There were no bodyguards, no assistants, and certainly no business partners by his side. There was only his suitcase.
“The hotel has no more suites, so I want to move in and stay with you…”
The familiar voice sounded, startling the two people on the voice chat.
Chi Youchu: “Holy shit! I took a blind guess and I was actually wrong. It really is my brother!”
The “curiosity baby” Xu Huiyang asked: “Why did your brother go to Ye Ran’s room?”
Chi Youchu was used to such scenes and spoke in a very casual tone, “That guy has been afraid of wind, rain, and thunder since he was little. Occasionally, he even has to be afraid of the dark. My brother can’t just ignore him, so he goes to sleep with him. Later, I forgot when they stopped sleeping together.”
“Coming to find him today—I guess my brother is afraid he’ll be scared in a new environment.”
“Oh.” Having received the answer to his question, Xu Huiyang had another one. “Then why doesn’t your brother come and sleep with you?”
Chi Youchu: “…”
After only a second of silence, the person on the other side resumed their “used-to-it” voice. “I’m not like that guy. I’m not that cowardly; I don’t need anyone to accompany me…”
Xu Huiyang reached a conclusion in his heart and happened to voice it with his “one-track” mind. “So your brother has never accompanied you. Could it be like the rumors say—President Chi infinitely pampers the little young master of the Ye family, but his own brother is just like someone given for free when paying a phone bill…”
Before he could finish, he heard the sound of something seemingly breaking slightly.
Chi Youchu’s defense broke. His brother seemed to be a fake brother.
While those two were chatting happily, the two standing at the door were still “standing at attention.”
Ye Ran squinted at the man outside the door, the expression on his face clearly saying five words: “I believe you my foot.”
He crossed his arms over his chest, his upper body lazily leaning against the door frame. His tone was full of disbelief: “The hotel is so big, and there are plenty of empty rooms. You’re telling me now that there are no rooms left? You think I’ll believe you?”
He wasn’t a three-year-old child; how could he be so easily fooled?
Chi Yuheng let out a low laugh and repeated slowly, “There are no more suites.”
Ye Ran’s eyes widened. He seriously suspected Chi Yuheng was doing this on purpose.
“If there are no suites, aren’t there still standard rooms?” He raised his voice. “How big are you? Is a normal room not enough for you to toss around in?”
Chi Yuheng’s tone was excessively frank. “It really isn’t enough.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he stepped forward—one step, then another—until he stood firmly in front of Ye Ran.
The “boneless” person leaning against the door was stunned. He went from being arrogant to having his pause button pressed, then his crossed hands slowly dropped down to grasp the door frame behind him, his head even leaning back against it.
Ye Ran could clearly smell the faint scent of cedar on Chi Yuheng, mixed with a hint of the warmth from the hotel’s fragrance.
His gaze drifted downward, seeing the firm waistline of Chi Yuheng highlighted by his shirt. Looking up, he crashed into the man’s unfathomable eyes, which were filled with a smile.
“What… what are you doing?” Ye Ran cleared his throat, trying to maintain his earlier toughness.
Chi Yuheng didn’t speak. He simply leaned down slightly, raising an arm to rest lightly on the door frame beside Ye Ran’s ear.
This movement was like creating a small barrier, completely isolating the two of them from the outside world.
Chi Yuheng glanced at the clothes on Ye Ran, the corners of his mouth curling up. His tone was as light as a feather, making one’s heart itch.
“Can Young Master Ye take me in, seeing as you’re wearing my clothes as pajamas?”
The “melon-eating” duo heard this and were shocked. “Ye Ran is actually wearing your brother’s clothes?!”
Chi Youchu’s tone flattened as he said unhurriedly, “Normal. When two men live together, it’s normal to occasionally take or wear the wrong item.”
Ye Ran’s expression stiffened. Only then did he remember he was wearing Chi Yuheng’s clothes. Not only that, he wasn’t wearing pants right now—only a pair of small boxers—and was currently waving a pair of long legs in front of a certain someone.
He felt a bit embarrassed. What was the difference between this and running naked in the hotel corridor?
It was also because the East Wing of the second floor only had this one suite, and as long as no one was called, generally no one would pass by.
If it were a normal room, and Chi Yuheng saw Ye Ran dressed like this when the door opened, he would have long since picked the person up over his shoulder and entered the room, not staying outside for even a second.
The shirt on Ye Ran had two buttons open at the top, revealing a large area of cold white collarbone. The hem just happened to cover his butt, but his “underlying colors” would still be revealed when he raised his legs to walk.
He instinctively became busy so Chi Yuheng wouldn’t see. His two hands worked for a long time, sometimes fastening buttons, sometimes pulling the hem down.
While Ye Ran was busy, Chi Yuheng naturally pulled his suitcase and walked into the room.
If he hadn’t misunderstood, the little leaf-let was wearing his clothes and standing so straight at the door while pulling at them—he should be very welcoming of him moving in.
By the time a certain someone finished his busyness, the person who had been at the door was long gone. He slammed the door and turned back into the room to find the man.
“Chi Yuheng, did I let you in? You’re trespassing on a private residence. I’ll call the police to arrest you!”
Chi Yuheng was pushing his suitcase toward the closet. Hearing this, his movements paused, and when he turned his head, there was still a lingering smile in his eyes.
He didn’t rush to speak, his gaze slowly sweeping over Ye Ran.
The buttons were fastened crookedly, and the hem was wrinkled from being pulled. He was clearly flustered like an “exploded” cat, yet he stubbornly put on a fierce act.
Chi Yuheng raised an eyebrow with a smile. “I’ll first tell the police that I caught a little thief who stole my clothes.”
The hotel belonged to Chi Yuheng; him entering was no different from entering his own home. But him entering his room was just not right.
Ye Ran had been in the right, but at Chi Yuheng’s mention of stealing clothes, his sharp momentum immediately weakened by half.
Chi Yuheng opened his suitcase, preparing to hang his clothes in the closet. Ye Ran defended himself from the side, “What stealing clothes? Do you have evidence? Besides, I just ‘accidentally’ wore one back from your room that day…”
Before he could finish, Chi Yuheng pulled open the closet door, and the clothes inside were instantly presented neatly before their eyes.
Ye Ran: “…”
Chi Yuheng looked at him with profound meaning. “You just ‘accidentally’ wore one back?”
Translator’s Note:
” Melon-eating” duo (吃瓜群衆 – chīguā qúnzhòng) is common slang for people who are just watching the drama unfold.
“Given for free when paying a phone bill” (充話費送的) is a very popular joke in China, used by children to say their parents don’t love them or that they weren’t planned. Poor Chi Youchu!
