Chapter 90 part 1
Sobering up from the alcohol was something that didn’t happen until the next day. Chi Aibei was lying horizontally across the bed, domineeringly occupying the entire space.
He stared at the ceiling in a daze for a while, feeling like he’d forgotten something. He rolled over in the quilt and suddenly saw a bouquet of roses on the floor. He froze for two seconds before springing up from the bed…
He remembered! Lin Xiu gave him a gift yesterday!
On the coffee table sat a small, homemade gashapon machine. Next to it were two opened capsules. Chi Aibei remembered that he was the one who opened them; there seemed to be a slip of paper inside, but he couldn’t quite remember what was written on them.
Chi Aibei kicked off the quilt and scrambled off the bed. He grabbed a shirt to throw on, not even bothering to button it, as he sat on the floor to pick through the slips.
— [Satisfy one of Chi Aibei’s wishes (stackable).]
— [Unconditionally coax Chi Aibei once (regardless of the reason).]
— [On-call once.]
— [Accompany Chi Aibei on a trip once.]
…
Just as Chi Aibei was about to continue twisting the capsules, the door opened.
Lin Xiu looked at Chi Aibei, who was sitting on the floor with bare legs playing with the gashapon machine. “Why are you sitting on the floor?”
Chi Aibei turned back, holding an unopened capsule. As Lin Xiu walked over and squatted behind him, Chi Aibei suddenly turned and lunged forward…
“Brother, what is this?” Chi Aibei grinned happily, one arm around Lin Xiu’s neck while the other held the capsule.
Caught by Chi Aibei’s lunge, Lin Xiu hugged the person who had tumbled onto him and laughed. “A birthday gift for you.”
Chi Aibei’s smile vanished. “No, that’s not what you said yesterday.”
Lin Xiu: “Don’t you always forget things after drinking? Do you still remember what I said last night?”
Chi Aibei truly didn’t remember. He’d even thought Lin Xiu confessing to him was a dream, but seeing the roses and the gashapon machine made it come back to him.
Lin Xiu sat up while holding him and took the capsule from Aibei’s hand. “This is a birthday gift for you—exclusive to my boyfriend.”
That “boyfriend” made the corners of Chi Aibei’s mouth curl up uncontrollably. There wasn’t a hint of the shyness usually found in a new couple; instead, he was so excited he wanted to rush out and shout it to the world.
He sat on Lin Xiu’s lap with his bare legs. “Brother, did you agree because I pursued you and moved you?”
Lin Xiu had been prepared for him to remember nothing upon waking, but he hadn’t expected the kid to adapt so quickly, immediately arranging the intimacy a boyfriend should have. “You pursued me?”
Chi Aibei said, “Yeah. Why else would I give you flowers every day?”
Lin Xiu pretended to only just realize. “Oh. So giving me flowers was pursuing me. I thought you were performing some kind of secret ritual.”
Chi Aibei: “…”
Chi Aibei felt completely out of sorts. Although this was his first time pursuing someone, was it really that subtle?
Lin Xiu wrapped an arm around Chi Aibei’s waist and pulled him closer. “You’ve got one thing wrong. I didn’t ‘agree’ to be with you; I was the one who confessed to you.”
Chi Aibei wouldn’t accept that his hard work over the past several days had yielded no results. “But I gave you flowers.”
Lin Xiu pointed to the bouquet of red roses in the corner. “I gave them back. Forty-nine roses. You gave a total of forty-eight; the extra one is for my confession.”
Chi Aibei was stunned. This time, he wasn’t led astray by Lin Xiu. He looked at him. “Brother, you actually knew I was pursuing you, didn’t you?”
Lin Xiu gave a small laugh but didn’t speak.
Chi Aibei was unhappy about the failure of his mission. “Why couldn’t you wait for me to confess to you?”
Lin Xiu picked up Chi Aibei and placed him on the bed. “You were giving one flower a day. I didn’t know how long you planned to keep it up. I was afraid that by the time you gave enough, I’d have gone mad waiting.”
Chi Aibei’s hands around his neck didn’t loosen. When Lin Xiu put him down, the feeling of weightlessness made Chi Aibei’s hands instinctively tighten, pulling Lin Xiu down with him.
Lin Xiu supported himself on the bed with one hand and looked at Chi Aibei. With the way he was constantly flirting with him, who could endure it?
Chi Aibei didn’t feel anything was wrong with the position. He propped himself up with one hand on the bed, trying to sit up so he could meet Lin Xiu’s gaze at eye level. “I wanted to confess after giving ninety-nine flowers. We were already at forty-nine; you only had to wait another month…”
Lin Xiu lowered his head and kissed the mouth that wouldn’t stop chattering. “Can’t wait.”
Chi Aibei stared at Lin Xiu in a daze. Lin Xiu thought he’d startled him and was about to sit up when Chi Aibei suddenly grabbed the collar of his shirt. “K-kiss again.”
Looking at the person wearing his shirt with only two buttons done and bare legs, grabbing his collar and asking for another kiss—this time, Lin Xiu didn’t just give a light touch as before. He reached out to cup the back of Chi Aibei’s neck and kissed him deeply…
Chi Aibei’s brain was starved of oxygen from the kiss, and his mind felt numb, yet the hand gripping Lin Xiu’s collar never let go.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. At first, it was just two “thump-thumps,” and Chi Aibei thought he was hallucinating, until he heard He Chenjiang knocking and calling his name. Only then did Chi Aibei glance toward the door.
“Xiao Bei, are you awake? I have something I want to say to you.”
Receiving no response, He Chenjiang knocked a few more times. “Xiao Bei, are you still sleeping?”
“Xiao Bei, can you open the door?”
Chi Aibei was distracted by those calls of “Xiao Bei” that sounded like a soul-calling ritual. He pushed lightly against Lin Xiu’s chest. Lin Xiu turned his head and shouted toward the door, “Get lost!”
It was the first time Chi Aibei had heard Lin Xiu say the word “get lost,” and with such ferocity. It gave him a start.
He Chenjiang, having been roared at, went silent outside. Chi Aibei looked curiously toward the door, but his ankle was suddenly tugged by Lin Xiu. The hand he had propped on the bed slipped, and he fell directly back onto the mattress.
Lin Xiu took the opportunity to press down, the desire in his eyes replaced by dissatisfaction. He looked at Chi Aibei. “You want to go to him?”
Chi Aibei certainly didn’t. He shook his head, his body squirming uncomfortably. “Um, Brother… you’re poking me.”
Lin Xiu lowered his head, his forehead resting against the boy’s shoulder. “I’m holding back.”
These words immediately touched Chi Aibei’s heart, which was determined to be a “1.” As a considerate Top, how could he let his boyfriend hold back on his own?
Chi Aibei patted Lin Xiu’s back. “Brother, do you want to? I can do it!”
Lin Xiu: “…” You can do what?
Lin Xiu lifted his head and glanced at him. Seeing that heroic expression on his face, Lin Xiu almost burst out laughing. “Is that so? Then I’ll test the goods first.”
Chi Aibei was stunned. “Huh? Ah? Don’t—”
Chi Aibei’s bare lower body was easy to ambush. Lin Xiu kissed his neck, making him shudder. Immediately following that, the dignity of his determination to be a “mighty Top” shattered into pieces…
Lin Xiu: “…”
Chi Aibei: “…”
For a moment, Lin Xiu didn’t know what to say that wouldn’t sound like gloating. Chi Aibei braced himself to find an excuse. “I-it’s the first time. I-it’s a normal phenomenon.”
If he hadn’t spoken, Lin Xiu might have been able to hold it in. But the moment he opened his mouth, Lin Xiu burst out laughing.
Now Chi Aibei had lost both face and dignity. He pushed Lin Xiu away in anger, flipped over to sit on him, and began pawing at his collar and gnawing on him at random. He covered Lin Xiu’s neck in saliva. To prove he had no issues, he fumbled around to use Lin Xiu for practice.
Lin Xiu looked at the defiant Chi Aibei and gladly accepted his help. However, the kid’s patience wasn’t very good; after only ten minutes, he wanted to quit because his hand was numb.
Lin Xiu’s collar was soaked from his gnawing. Seeing it still wasn’t over, Chi Aibei moved back, closed his eyes, and opened his mouth wide—
Lin Xiu was quick and grabbed his head to stop him. “What are you doing?”
