Chapter 51: His Temperament Needs Someone to Slowly Heal It
“Yes, President Shen,” Yue Ping answered. Just as he was about to leave, Shen Yanzhou called him back.
“Didn’t the Imperial Capital University send someone recently to talk about a donation?”
Yue Ping nodded. “Yes, they want to build a holographic smart library. They are talking to several groups about investment and donation matters.”
“Last time you said you weren’t interested, so I sent them away.”
Shen Yanzhou: “Mm, go find their project manager. Say that Longsheng Group is willing to provide a full, unconditional donation. Have them send someone to talk about the details of the cooperation.”
Yue Ping blinked his eyes. Didn’t he say he wasn’t interested? Why was he now? He didn’t quite understand why his master, who never made a losing deal, would suddenly engage in such a massive charity project. For the reputation? No, an enterprise like Longsheng Group had long passed the stage where they needed to rely on charity to win a name.
“Very well, President Shen. However, I remember them saying the investment for this project is estimated to exceed five hundred million. If our group takes it all on…”
Shen Yanzhou looked up at him. “Can we not afford five hundred million?”
Yue Ping: “Uh, of course not. What I mean is…”
Shen Yanzhou understood the doubt in Yue Ping’s heart. He waved his hand. “Tell them that regarding the investment, Longsheng has no other conditions, only one undergraduate admission spot for the fall semester this year. Finance or Economics and Trade major.”
Yue Ping understood now. But he was even more confused. “President Shen, you want to go for further studies? Then just getting an MBA would…”
Shen Yanzhou: “It’s Lin Yuan who wants to study.”
Yue Ping: “…”
Oh, so it’s the young madam! Then everything made sense! His boss was throwing down five hundred million just to make the young madam happy; this deal was definitely not a loss. If the young madam was happy, the boss would be “sexually happy”!
“Understood! I’ll get right on it!” After saying that, Yue Ping left with the enigmatic smile of a gossip-monger.
Lin Yuan slept until he woke up naturally. A message from Shen Yanzhou came through.
[Shen Yanzhou: Xiao Yuan, your body isn’t fully recovered yet. If you go out to play, don’t go too far!]
Looking at the words “don’t go too far,” Lin Yuan understood he meant something else. He replied with two words: “Okay.”
Currently, he wouldn’t run away. Running away recklessly would have terrible consequences. Once he found his family, Shen Yanzhou naturally wouldn’t be able to lock him up.
Lin Yuan hurriedly ate breakfast downstairs, planning to change his clothes and go out immediately. He hadn’t been out for many days, and his heart had long since flown outside.
Uncle Chen knocked and entered the room. “Mr. Lin, Master had these sent over.” He placed a set of clothes on the sofa, a smile on his face. “The weather is good today; it’s perfect for Mr. Lin to go out for a walk!”
Lin Yuan nodded with a smile. “Mm!”
Seeing the happy smile on Lin Yuan’s small face, Uncle Chen was also very happy. After so many days, this was the first time he had seen him smile! He really was a beautiful and bright youth! Who wouldn’t like him?
Uncle Chen said, “Our master, he’s almost a ‘six-sided warrior.’ He can shake the clouds and decide life and death, but he just doesn’t know how to get along with those close to him.”
Lin Yuan listened, pursing his lips slightly.
“It’s not his fault; the environment he grew up in was too terrible. Isn’t there a saying? A terrible childhood takes a lifetime to heal!”
“That temperament of his also needs someone to slowly help him heal!”
As he spoke, Uncle Chen looked at Lin Yuan. He discovered that the boy didn’t look like he did before—angry and full of loathing whenever Shen Yanzhou was mentioned. At this moment, there was no anger on his handsome small face. He lowered his eyes slightly, seemingly pondering those words, and even gave an imperceptible nod.
Uncle Chen breathed a small sigh of relief in his heart. “Alright then, change your clothes!” After saying that, he turned and left the room.
Lin Yuan picked up the clothes and found that the top was a light gray stand-collar casual shirt. After changing, he saw that the stand collar just happened to cover ninety percent of the choker on his neck. Although a bit of the edge was still showing, it didn’t look nearly as exaggerated.
Lin Yuan’s heart stirred slightly. Shen Yanzhou had such a meticulous side; knowing he would be embarrassed wearing that thing out, he had specifically prepared this style of shirt for him.
Fine, he would accept this favor!
Lin Yuan finished changing and ran downstairs happily. Uncle Chen called out from behind, “Mr. Lin, are you coming back for lunch?”
Lin Yuan said while running toward the hall entrance, “No, Uncle Chen, I’ll eat out!” Before the words could land, his figure had already disappeared.
Uncle Chen laughed and shook his head. “Look how happy he is! Ah, this is so much better!”
Lin Yuan ran out of the villa and skipped along the path. There were few taxis coming in and out of the villa area, but he didn’t care; he could just run.
After running out of the villa area, Lin Yuan was a bit tired. After all, his body wasn’t fully recovered yet. He hailed a taxi and had the driver take him to the most prosperous commercial district in the city center.
Lin Yuan walked along the bustling commercial street. Looking at the heavy traffic and the crowds on the streets, he was like a bird flying out of a cage, incredibly happy.
Just then, his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was an unknown number. He answered the call.
A pleasant middle-aged man’s voice came from the other end: “Hello, is this Mr. Lin Yuan?”
Lin Yuan was a bit puzzled. “It’s me. Who are you?”
“I am a volunteer for the Imperial Capital branch of the ‘Waiting for You to Come Home’ website. My surname is Qian.”
Hearing this, Lin Yuan’s heart instantly became excited. “Oh! Hello, hello! Do you have some news for me?”
“Mr. Lin, you submitted an application to our website a few days ago, and we conducted an investigation based on the situation you provided. Currently, we have some leads.”
“We need to meet with you to discuss the follow-up matters.”
Lin Yuan’s exquisite phoenix eyes instantly widened. “Really? Oh, that’s great!” A look of extreme joy rippled across his small face. “When can we meet?” he asked impatiently.
“The sooner the better, of course,” the man replied.
Lin Yuan: “I’m currently at the Trade Street area. Do you have time? If it’s convenient, we can meet in a bit!”
“That works.”
The man set a meeting place at a cafe not far from Lin Yuan, and they agreed to meet in half an hour.
Lin Yuan’s excitement was uncontrollable. He looked up at the blue sky and white clouds, and then down at the green trees and red flowers, feeling that everything was so beautiful. He asked around and found the cafe. By this time, there were still twenty minutes until the appointed time.
Lin Yuan found a seat and sat down. He looked at his watch; only one minute had passed. He looked again; another minute. He felt that time was passing very slowly today!
Lin Yuan couldn’t sit still and ordered a cup of coffee, drinking most of it in one go. He wasn’t used to it; it was so bitter he kept sticking out his tongue. However, his heart was incredibly sweet.
When the appointed time arrived, a man walked over from not far away. He was in his thirties, of medium build, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, with a gentle expression. He smiled and waved to Lin Yuan.
He walked over quickly. “Hello, Mr. Lin!” He proactively reached out his hand. “I contacted you just now; my surname is Qian.”
Lin Yuan quickly shook his hand. “Brother Qian, hello!”
The man sat opposite him and stared at his face for a while. “The real person is even more beautiful than the photo.”
Lin Yuan gave a smile. “Brother Qian, thank you for helping me! What else do you need to know? Or, what do I need to do?”
The man nodded. “Yes, there are some things I need you to cooperate with. I’ll order a cup of coffee first; I walked quickly and am a bit thirsty.”
Only then did Lin Yuan realize he was so focused on asking questions that he had forgotten basic etiquette. He quickly called the waiter and ordered a cup of coffee for the man.
The man took a few slow sips. He didn’t get to the point. Lin Yuan couldn’t wait any longer and prompted him again, “Brother Qian, is there anything else I need to do? Do you need my hair for a DNA test?”
The man put down the coffee cup, stared at his face, and nodded. His voice was slow. “Actually, it’s very simple. You just need to be well-behaved and listen…”
Lin Yuan’s brow furrowed. He tried to sit up straighter from the back of the chair, but at that moment, he felt the strength drain from his body, and his hands and feet wouldn’t listen to him. A wave of pain came from his head, and immediately after, the man’s face became blurry.
Lin Yuan shook his head forcefully, but it was of no use at all. His head grew heavier and heavier, and he felt his consciousness dissipating bit by bit. A moment later, he lost control of his body…
