Chapter 67: Believe It or Not, Iāll Jump
Wen Yuhuai stood there with a pale face. He gave the man a steady look, but instead of going over, he turned and ran toward the interior of the house.
Fu Xingjian stood at the entryway and watched quietly. After a moment, he smiled again, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. It looked even scarier than not smiling.
“A-Yu, I gave you a chance. You were the one who didn’t take it.”
So, whatever excessive treatment you receive next, don’t beg for mercy. Choosing wrongly means you must receive the deserved punishment.
Gu Yanxiu was dragged and pulled out the door. The main door was closed in an instant. Only the two of them remained in the massive apartment.
One was fleeing in panic at the front, and the other was chasing at an unhurried pace behind, like a cat playing with a mouse.
Wen Yuhuai was finally forced into a dead end. He could only grit his teeth and enter a random room, immediately double-locking the door. Then, with great effort, he dragged nearby furniture to block the entrance. Only then could he catch his breath in the room.
But it was only temporary. He couldn’t stay inside forever. As long as Fu Xingjian waited outside like a “stump waiting for a rabbit,” he could catch him without any effort.
Despair seemed to drown him. Wen Yuhuaiās legs weakened uncontrollably, as if his bones had been removed. He slowly slumped to the floor.
He was just one step away. He was so close to leaving this place. Why was Fu Xingjian always haunting him?
Suddenly, a knocking sound came from the door. One hit at a time, very rhythmic.
“Baby, do you want to keep hiding? Itās already reached this point. Do you think you can still hide? Come back with me obediently, and maybe I can deal with you leniently.”
Wen Yuhuai finally had a reaction. One leg slowly curled up. He buried his face in his knee, his shoulder blades trembling uncontrollably.
After a moment, the sound of a key opening the lock came from outside. Wen Yuhuaiās body stiffened for an instant. It took several seconds for him to react. He looked toward the door a beat late, just in time to see the handle being turned twice.
However, with things blocking the way behind the door, the man still couldn’t push it open.
He actually found the key!
Wen Yuhuai felt a chill run down his spine. As if he had suddenly found some strength, he stumbled to his feet, picked up the desk lamp from the nightstand, and stood by the side of the door. He prepared to “crack the skull” of the person outside the moment they entered.
But then, the noise outside stopped.
It was as if the person had left.
Wen Yuhuai didn’t let down his guard. He remained standing there, holding the lamp. His eyes were wide with terror. The veins on the back of his hand bulged, his knuckles white from the force.
“Baby, this is no fun. Are you forcing me to use violence on you?”
The voice, gentle to the point of being eerie, drifted in through the thick wooden door once again. Wen Yuhuaiās nerves, which had just been about to relax, tightened once more. He raised the lamp above his head and stared at the door without blinking.
The outside was silent again. It was as if he were being intentionally kept on edge. It was silent, without a hint of human presence.
Wen Yuhuai was afraid that furniture would hit him when the person kicked the door, so he instinctively took two steps back to the side. Just as he had steadied himself, he heard a thunderous bang.
The chairs stacked on the table were hit by the force of the impact and slid down, making an ear-piercing, screeching sound.
Two more thunderous bangs followed. The items behind the door finally gave way under the burden and all slid to the floor. The door was kicked open a crack.
Wen Yuhuaiās body stiffened instantly. He even forgot to breathe. He just stood there blankly, holding the lamp, staring at the crack in the door where light was filtering through.
Bangā
With another loud noise, the door was finally kicked completely open.
It wasn’t just one person outside; there were four. The two bodyguards from before were there, along with Gu Yanxiu. Gu Yanxiu was still in a wretched state, both arms twisted behind his back. What Fu Xingjian held in his hand was clearly Gu Yanxiuās phone.
The image on the screen seemed to be the surveillance feed from the room.
“Tsk.” Fu Xingjian stepped inside at a steady pace. He casually tossed the phone behind him and walked unhurriedly to Wen Yuhuai.
“What does Baby want to do with that lamp? Do you want to smash it on my head?”
Wen Yuhuaiās breathing quickened. His two bloodshot eyes stared at the man with intensity. He threw the lamp at him with all his might.
However, because of the drug injection that afternoon, he didn’t have much strength. He also hadn’t eaten dinner. That bit of force was easily blocked by the man raising a hand.
“Baby really does care for me. You’re not even willing to hit me hard.”
Wen Yuhuai closed his eyes and reflexively took two steps back.
He soon couldn’t retreat anymore. A hand forcefully circled his waist, and with a gentle pull, he was brought into an embrace.
“Why are your eyes so red? Were you scared?”
The man spoke into his ear with a malicious yet gentle tone. His slightly rough fingertips rubbed the boy’s reddened eye corners bit by bit. The movement was incredibly intimate.
The tip of his tongue licked the bright red earlobe. “How could I be willing to let you get hurt? I only dared to kick the door after making sure it wouldn’t hit you. Baby, don’t be afraid.”
Wen Yuhuai finally opened his eyes again. His eyes were filled with dense, bloodshot veins. The panic on his face from the beginning had disappeared, replaced by an unnatural calmness.
He spoke word by word: “I don’t like men.”
Fu Xingjianās movement of kissing him paused. After a moment, he spoke in a warm tone: “Itās enough that I like you. You don’t need to do anything. Just accept my love quietly.”
Wen Yuhuai looked at him without blinking. “I said I don’t like men. I only like women. Can’t you understand human speech?”
The arm Fu Xingjian had around his waist tightened uncontrollably until the boy was locked tightly in his embrace.
“Iāve endured for a long time, A-Yu. Don’t try to provoke me further.”
But Wen Yuhuai somehow found the strength to shove him away forcefully and continued toward the interior of the room.
Fu Xingjian stared at him with a sinister expression and stepped forward to follow.
Wen Yuhuai didn’t go anywhere else. He climbed onto the bay window seat and opened the closed window without any hesitation. The piercing cold wind immediately messed up his hair.
As if thinking of a certain possibility, Fu Xingjianās face changed dramatically. He reflexively spoke in a sharp voice: “A-Yu, get down!”
Wen Yuhuai didn’t get down. His upper body actually leaned precariously out of the window. He even turned back to smile at the man, though the smile was full of resolution and indifference.
He even tilted his head slightly, as if curious:
“Fu Xingjian, if you dare take another step, do you believe Iāll jump from here?”
