Chapter 20: Silence During Meals and Rest part 1
Yun Yingzhi paused for a moment and changed the subject.
Sensing Yun Yingzhiās mood, Yu Feiwen and the other two didn’t mention Huai Boshe again.
The group entered the training hall.
After arriving at the site, they discovered that Wei Yuanqing had arranged for three fourth-year students to provide one-on-one guidance to Yu Feiwen and his roommates, while he personally took charge of training Yun Yingzhi alone.
The awkward part was that before the training could even begin, Wei Yuanqing received a private message: His Highness Elvis was looking for him.
Wei Yuanqing frowned slightly. He told Yun Yingzhi to wait for him a moment and then left.
Yun Yingzhi thought back to his three-match winning streak from yesterday. Although it was embarrassing, fighting was actually quite fun, and the feeling of victory was especially sweet. To keep that streak going, he was suddenly filled with motivation to train.
After about an hour of continuous training, Yun Yingzhi sat on the ground to rest.
Wei Yuanqing sent him a private message: he was quite busy and wouldn’t be able to make it back. He told Yun Yingzhi not to train for too long and to remember to rest.
Yun Yingzhi, who was more than happy to rest without needing an invitation, replied to the message and then looked at his three roommates, who were still working hard in their special training.
Yun Yingzhi opened his lips, wanting to tell them that Senior Wei said to rest for a bit before continuing. But before he could get the words out, he heard one of the fourth-year seniors bark: “Rest? What rest? Can you three even be compared to Yingzhi? Youāve got another hour of training before you can think about resting!”
Yu Feiwen and the others pulled long, miserable faces and continued their training.
Yun Yingzhi thought about it and remembered his own fragile Second Form.
What else could be done? Compared to the fierce Second Forms of the other military students, he was just a soft little white rabbit. Others might not be allowed to rest, but he certainly needed it.
Yun Yingzhi sat comfortably on the ground, opened his personal terminal, and began designing Source Weapons.
Among the four Source Weapons he had accepted orders for, Wei Yuanqingās was undoubtedly the most difficult to manufacture.
If Yun Yingzhi could manufacture the weapons for his three roommates in a single day, then creating one for Wei Yuanqing would require at least a week of high-intensity workāand that was only if he was very lucky.
After some thought, Yun Yingzhi decided to start with the simplest ones.
He would design for his three roommates first, and finally research the Level 8 Wood-type weapon suitable for Wei Yuanqing.
First, he set the external appearance. This was very simple; he could just use the standard templates most commonly sold by the Source Weapon Association.
For any Source Weapon, as long as its appearance was similar to the popular models released by the Association, the general public would trust it more based on aesthetics alone.
This was the most popular style on the market, and it didn’t require much brainpower to design. However, generally, most high-level manufacturers would spend extra effort on the appearance to flaunt their prestige.
As some in the manufacturing world put it: the weapon itself might be average, but the appearance must be striking to highlight its value.
With the three weapon designs finalized, he began establishing the internal engravings.
Since Yu Feiwenās abilities were Wind and Lightning, he needed source materials leaning toward those attributes. This would ensure high synchronization and boost the attack power to its maximum potential.
Considering this weapon would be used in 5V5 group battles, Yun Yingzhi planned to build in some isolation engravings to prevent friendly fire.
Suddenly, a miserable howl echoed from not far away.
Yun Yingzhi looked over and saw Yu Feiwen being beaten into the dirt.
Yun Yingzhi shivered, feeling a phantom pain.
Thinking about it, his three roommates were training while he was sitting and resting.
As if sensing Yun Yingzhiās gaze, the fourth-year student giving one-on-one instruction to Yu Feiwen looked over. The ferocious expression on his face instantly turned gentle as he asked, “Yingzhi, whatās wrong?”
Yun Yingzhiās eyelids twitched. After a moment, he asked cautiously, “Should I… train together with them?”
The senior paused and said, “Youāve already trained for a long time just now. Rest a bit longer.”
Upon hearing this, Yu Feiwen and the others looked at Yun Yingzhi with extremely complex expressions.
After a moment, they immediately “got it.”
Oh, that made sense. Yun Yingzhi was a fragile little white rabbit; of course he needed special treatment.
Yun Yingzhiās train of thought synchronized perfectly with his roommates, so he began to rest and design Source Weapons with a clear conscience.
From time to time, the painful groans of his three roommates reached his ears.
Yun Yingzhi shivered, finding it a bit scary. After hearing it a few more times…
He stopped shivering. He had gotten used to it.
By the time Yun Yingzhi realized it, the afternoon had passed, and break time had finally arrived.
The four of them hadn’t slept well yesterday and were both exhausted and sleepy. They bid farewell to the three seniors and went to eat together.
Yun Yingzhi looked at his three roommates with pity, feeling they had truly worked hard.
Jing Haomiao sighed and said, “Luckily, they went easy on you, Yingzhi.”
Yun Yingzhi sighed softly, feeling the same way. He looked at them with heartache and said, “Youāve worked hard.”
The three roommates sighed in unison.
After dinner, they received a communication from the “Demon Seniors”: there would be extra training tonight.
As for Yun Yingzhi, the original words of the three seniors were: considering the high difficulty of his afternoon training, they were worried his fragile body couldn’t handle it, so it was better for him to rest at night.
Yu Feiwen and the others looked at Yun Yingzhi with complex expressions. At this moment, they were extremely envious of his “fragility.”
Yun Yingzhi felt a bit guilty under their gaze.
From yesterday until today, they had barely rested. They felt they could fall asleep the second they lay down. Ji Xiaobo said, “Iāll ask the senior if tonightās training can be canceled.”
Yu Feiwen and Jing Haomiaoās eyes lit up, looking at Ji Xiaobo with expectation.
Ji Xiaobo immediately opened his terminal and tentatively sent a private message.
Soon, he received a reply.
The other two looked at him nervously. One asked, “What did the senior say?”
Ji Xiaoboās mouth twitched. “…The senior asked me: ‘Are you worthy?'”
Ji Xiaoboās tall, sturdy body suddenly looked pitiful. He said dejectedly, “Are we even worthy of rest?”
Yu Feiwen hesitated and said, “Five consecutive losses… I guess we aren’t worthy…”
Jing Haomiao: “…I also feel we aren’t quite worthy.”
With their heads hanging low and miserable faces, they looked at Yun Yingzhi. Ji Xiaobo said, “Yingzhi, weāre leaving then.” He let out a heavy sigh.
Yun Yingzhi thought for a moment and said, “I donāt think Iām worthy of rest either. Iāll go with you.”
The three of them rejected Yun Yingzhi, insisting he should rest.
Yun Yingzhi didn’t catch their meaning at first and seriously wanted to follow them for high-intensity training until Jing Haomiao lost his patience. He used a somewhat euphemistic yet heart-stabbing way to state the core idea: “Even if a little white rabbit levels up, itās still just a cute little white rabbit.” Yun Yingzhi was left dazed and bewildered, his face filled with sorrow.
“…That makes sense.” Yun Yingzhi felt a pang of grief. Why was he just a little rabbit? And such a tiny one at that?
This time, it was the roommates’ turn to look at Yun Yingzhi with heartache.
The three of them sincerely comforted him. For some reason, the image of the “Little Battle Bunny” from the Yaoming Battle Arena suddenly flashed in their minds.
They looked at Yun Yingzhi with suspicious eyes.
Yun Yingzhi felt their gazes were strange but didn’t think much of it. He said, “Go on then, don’t keep the seniors waiting.”
The three left.
Looking at their retreating backs, Yun Yingzhi thought to himself that while their words were heart-stabbing, they were also the truth.
As a little white rabbit with almost zero combat power, rather than spending time on physical training, it was much more practical to find ways to manufacture more powerful Source Weapons.
It was just like his battle against that Level 8 Ability Warrior.
With his Second Form as a rabbit, it was impossible to defeat a Level 8 warrior. However, with a more powerful Source Weapon, things might be different.
Yun Yingzhi had a clear self-awareness: “If your strength is lacking, make it up with equipment”āthat was the path most suited for him.
Originally, Yun Yingzhi wanted to go back to the dorm and sleep, but now he didn’t want to sleep at all. He felt that since his roommates were working so hard, he really didn’t deserve to sleep.
He went to the Source Weapon Manufacturing Department.
