Chapter 83: Blood Fusion
Above the rocks.
Everyone watched with their own eyes as the boundless seawater gradually turned from grey to dark grey, and finally to pitch-black.
The infinite black sea was oppressive and hopeless, accompanied by occasional terrifying waves.
“If they haven’t come out by the time the daylight fades, we will go down to provide support.”
But the black waves suddenly rose high, like a landslide or an avalanche, as if stirred by a giant hand.
The Sentinels on the rocks were extremely nervous.
Just by looking at these waves, one could imagine how fierce the battle on the seabed was.
…
This was the umpteenth time Chi Wan had been knocked back.
Crashing heavily against the coral rocks, her blurred vision saw the blue light becoming increasingly piercing and brilliant.
Yun Qi’s energy was nearly double what it was before. Chi Wan felt that he had likely broken through his energy threshold due to the return of the Sea God’s Heart, reaching Super SSS-rank.
Combat under the sea was still extremely restricted for her, a non-member of the Sea Race.
As an S-rank energy user, her energy was nearly depleted after fighting all the way here.
The pollutant that had been targeting Chi Wan the entire time was the first to notice her weakness. It took the opportunity to strike, ruthlessly dragging her into a vortex!
Sensing this, Yun Qi looked back.
In the black vortex, that speck of silver was being sucked in, her figure gradually becoming indistinguishable as the vortex spun.
The Sea God energy around him surged violently.
His blue eyes were cold and emotionless.
That day on the hospital bed, having survived on the brink of death, his body had been shattered. Even after being injected with painkillers, the pain was unbearable, and he couldn’t move an inch.
She had torn his clothes open like that. Her filthy hands had traveled from his blood-soaked chest all the way down, flirtatiously brushing against his sensitive areas, causing him to feel immense humiliation.
He would never forget that feeling of wanting to kill someone out of sheer humiliation.
Later, once he could move a little, he had washed his body over and over again until his skin bled, yet he still felt absolutely filthy.
Yun Qi was very clear: at this moment, he didn’t have much desire to save her.
But he was equally clear that she had been “normal” to an extreme throughout this journey.
Even during the hour-long battle with several Rank Ten pollutants, he hadn’t protected her at all, focusing solely on the fight. Yet he had seen her being knocked away several times out of the corner of his eye.
Every time he saw her get hit, he felt no sympathy whatsoever.
But if he didn’t save her now, she would likely truly lose her life here.
Without thinking for long, Yun Qi swung his blade and finally swam toward her.
In the seawater, he followed the current. His blue Sea God energy was like light struggling through the darkness as he suddenly grabbed Chi Wan’s body just as she was about to be swallowed.
The young girl seemingly hadn’t expected to be rescued. On her pale face, her originally despairing blue-purple eyes were filled with bewildered shock as she looked at him through the currents.
She looked as clean and holy as a sacred Maiden of the Sea God.
Yun Qi’s gaze flickered.
The pollutants grew enraged and began to attack frantically. He quickly turned to meet them.
The battle between high-level pollutants and Sentinels was always earth-shaking, let alone against several Rank Ten entities.
In the chaos, Chi Wan seized the opportunity to desperately devour the essence of the pollutant that had taken the most damage.
The brush with death caused her adrenaline to spike, and even her depleted energy seemed to surge back quite a bit.
This full-force strike actually succeeded!
But before she could digest and absorb it, she was knocked away again!
This time, the attack hit her abdomen. Such an impact on an extremely fragile area sent her plummeting toward the deep seabed.
At the same time, the wounds all over her body increased as she scraped and collided with her surroundings. Blood instantly began to spread!
Yun Qi finished off the last two pollutants and looked toward Chi Wan, who was flying toward the end of the Lost Sea, and quickly gave chase.
With all the pollutants dead, the Lost Sea began to tremble violently, facing collapse.
At the end of the Lost Sea, the black energy vortex belonging to the pollutants had also completely vanished.
In this world on the verge of collapse, the seawater was being sucked away by some mysterious force from the seabed, madly squeezing human bodies.
Chi Wan felt like she was really going to die here this time.
She had no strength left now.
Red blood filled her world. The piercing red mingled with the polluted black, and just like every point of pain in her body, it smelled of death.
However, amidst the despair, that blue light appeared once again.
Then, a powerful arm reached out from the blood-tinged water and gripped her tightly!
Though Yun Qi’s hand was extremely beautiful, he was pulling her so hard it hurt, dragging her upward through the frenzied current!
“My energy is also running low. I can’t summon my spirit body. We have to swim up.”
He swam upward at high speed. They were currently at least several thousand meters underground. The gravity of the seabed caused the water of the entire region to flow downward madly; swimming against the current was incredibly difficult.
He said they would swim up together, but he was essentially pulling her along.
The entire space of the Lost Sea was almost shattering and collapsing.
If they didn’t get out fast, they would both die here!
In that moment, Chi Wan felt a surge of sadness. She felt like she was truly dragging him down.
He hadn’t lied to her.
Here, he said he wouldn’t settle scores with her, and he truly didn’t. Even after what the original soul had done to him, he was willing to pull her along to escape at such a critical moment.
The seabed began to cave in. A massive surge of seawater squeezed toward them again, pushing the two of them downward.
As if making a decision, Chi Wan forcefully pulled her arm away. As Yun Qi looked back in confusion, the silver kitten leaped out and used every ounce of its strength to give Yun Qi’s body a push!
Yun Qi was pushed outward by this force. The seawater surged, and with the help of the current, it sent him straight up!
His eyes shook with disbelief as he looked back at the silver figure being swallowed by the black sea.
The hearts of both people seemed to stop beating at this moment.
Why…
How could she possibly do such a thing?
The seawater surged again. Yun Qi did not swim upward.
He stared at the black sea.
He stared fixedly.
His brow was tightly furrowed.
The next second, his gaze turned determined, and he swam downward!
The briefly recovered Kun-Whale leaped out, carrying him as it sped toward the depths!
He swam for over a thousand meters before he finally saw that speck of silver.
At this moment, the silver figure was slowly sinking, devoid of any signs of life.
After a moment of hesitation, Yun Qi finally pulled out his fish-bone blade and slashed his wrist. Sea God’s Blood, red with a hint of blue, poured out!
The blood flowed frantically toward Chi Wan, merging into her body through her various large and small wounds!
