Sentinel & Guide: From Pariah to Heartthrob Chapter 84

Chapter 84: The Secrets of the Sea God’s Blood Fusion

Above the rocks.

“We can’t wait any longer. Let’s go!”

Several Sentinel commanders were preparing to set out when they turned toward the sea surface amidst the gasps of the Sentinels.

The black sea surface was split open just as it had been at the start. Out of the darkness, Yun Qi, dressed in a deep blue combat suit, walked out slowly. In his arms, he held a weak young girl. The girl was covered in wounds, her face pale and nearly transparent—it was Chi Wan.

Miraculously, a faint blue light flickered on both of their bodies.

Especially on Chi Wan; the Sea God mark on her forehead flashed slightly, making her look dreamily beautiful.

This scene was too shocking and was etched into everyone’s hearts.

The seawater receded, being rapidly drained away. The entire black sea seemed like a giant vortex, gradually vanishing.

The ground of the Lost Sea space also vibrated violently.

Then, the space shattered.

All the scenes before them began to fade.

The group appeared within the polluted jungle.

“Commanders, you successfully made it out!”

The Sentinels waiting outside rushed over.

One of them pulled up a holographic star-screen on his light-computer:

“A massive number of high-level zombies and previously hidden spaces have appeared in this area of Planet A-73. It should be the secret zones revealed after the Lost Sea shattered!”

“Send the bombing squad for large-scale bombardment. I will lead the team to explore. Everyone else, take a day of rest.”

“Yes, Commander Li!”

Qi Ye immediately walked toward Chi Wan. She had just been set down by Yun Qi and was clearly still quite weak.

The Silver Python’s body pressed against her to provide support. Qi Ye looked at the blue whale mark that appeared and then vanished on her forehead, then looked back at the identical mark on Yun Qi’s forehead, confused: “What is this?”

“The Sea God mark.”

Yun Qi lowered his eyes, his clear, cold face devoid of any extra expression:

“Her life was hanging by a thread, and we were being squeezed at the bottom of the sea. Sea God Blood Fusion was the only way to break the deadlock at the time.”

If they hadn’t fused blood then, she would have died, and he might not have made it out safely either.

Chi Wan naturally knew what she had gained.

The moment the blood merged, a powerful, mysterious force from the ancient deep sea surged into her body, allowing her depleted energy and body to regain strength. The Sea God’s power was mesmerizing—such clear and agile energy, carrying an intense divinity, made her feel as if she had caught a glimpse of Planet Poseidon’s former glory.

Moreover, she felt strongly that her energy value had broken through at that moment.

She might have reached SS-rank now.

Qi Ye understood. His gaze swept over the two of them, whose arms were pressed tightly together:

“That may be so, but isn’t Commander Yun standing a bit too close?”

Yun Qi’s brow furrowed slightly as he pulled some distance away from Chi Wan.

But only a little.

He didn’t say that after this Sea God Blood Fusion, the two of them would have connected hearts. Not only could they sense each other’s emotions, but once they appeared in each other’s field of vision, they would be drawn together by the Sea God Power.

Silently and unconsciously, they would want to be very close to each other.

The Sea God Blood Fusion was originally an important ritual for the contract binding between the Sea God and the Sea God Bride.

After the fusion, besides the aforementioned changes, there were many others…

So many that even he couldn’t quite remember them all. He only vaguely recalled that one of them was:

After the fusion, the mutual attraction between the two would be greatly enhanced, let alone the desires in that area…

Such a shameful thing was something Yun Qi could not bring himself to say.

Chi Wan looked at Yun Qi:

“Can this be disconnected now?”

She could tell, of course, that he had only fused blood with her out of necessity.

“It cannot.”

Yun Qi shook his head. “The method to disconnect the Sea God Blood Fusion requires fusing blood with another descendant of the Sea God.”

He was the only one left alive of the entire Sea Race.

Let alone a descendant of the Sea God.

The Sea God King only had one descendant: Yun Qi.

Chi Wan lowered her eyes, looking at the wounds on her arm that had mostly healed due to the fusion:

“Then what should we do…”

He sensed her genuine worry. His clear eyes looked at her:

“It’s fine. This Sea God Blood Fusion is just the most common ritual of the Sea Race. Don’t take it too much to heart.”

Hearing this, Chi Wan felt much more at ease:

“That’s good. I thought the Sea God—”

The moment the two words “Sea God” left her mouth, Yun Qi seemed to be pulled by a surge of blue energy, moving straight toward her!

Shen Yu, who was walking over, was quick to react. He reached out and pushed away Yun Qi, who had almost pasted himself onto Chi Wan!

Qi Ye’s Silver Python also used its tail to block Yun Qi’s approach. He looked at him with cold eyes:

“Commander Yun, this is…?”

Yun Qi brushed off Shen Yu’s hand. The clear, cold “high-mountain flower” aura was gone from his face. His breathing was slightly rushed as he frowned and looked at Chi Wan:

“After the fusion, you must not say the words ‘Sea God.’ Otherwise, I will be forcibly pulled to your side.”

Chi Wan was stunned.

What kind of strange setting was this?

The “most common ritual” of the Sea Race sure was unique…

She nodded quickly. “I’ll remember.”

“What?”

Shen Yu leaned down to look at the mark on Chi Wan’s forehead, his bright voice domineering:

“I don’t think this is a proper contract. Yun Qi, break it!”

Yun Qi said nothing, his eyes returning to a calm state as he coldly looked away.

Chi Wan explained for him: “…This blood fusion can’t be broken.”

Unexpectedly, the moment the words “blood fusion” were spoken, Yun Qi was pulled again.

Shi Ye, walking over from behind the crowd, saw this scene immediately.

Yun Qi, in his deep blue combat suit, was being controlled by an attractive force toward Chi Wan. Beside her, a tiger and a snake were guarding her closely.

“What are you all doing?”

His beautiful voice grew a few shades huskier.

Yun Qi didn’t look at the approaching Shi Ye. He only frowned tighter and tighter:

“You can’t say ‘blood fusion’ either.”

After speaking, for fear that Chi Wan would say something else to make him lose control, he added:

“Don’t mention anything related to the Sea Race anymore.”

Chi Wan scratched her head. “Okay.”

She couldn’t help but marvel again in her heart: This “most common ritual” of the Sea Race sure is unique…

Shen Yu, however, didn’t understand:

“Are you for real or are you acting? Why is it fine when you say it, but she can’t?”

Yun Qi looked at Shen Yu and didn’t say a word. His forcedly calm face merely turned away.

This was the Sea God’s special protection for his beloved. Once the Sea God had someone he was moved by, he could never escape their control for his entire life.

Something like this was, of course, not something he would let them know.
