Chapter 87: I Will Definitely Break It
“Diameter—”
“Click!”
Chi Wan urgently pressed the robot’s power-off button.
Quiet finally returned to the room.
As if to ease the awkwardness, she scratched her head:
“I will find a way to break this!”
Hearing her refer to the Sea God Blood Fusion, Yun Qi silently took several steps back to create distance.
His fair skin was flushed anew because of the robot’s broadcast. Under his long eyelashes, his clear blue eyes were as transparent as ice-sea glass. He feigned composure as he looked away:
“This thing… cannot be broken.”
Chi Wan, however, was quite stubborn.
With a serious face, she said, “Everything in this world can be accomplished through effort. There must be a way.”
Hearing this, Yun Qi looked at her, her determined expression reflected in his eyes.
Suddenly, he felt a bit uneasy.
The blood fusion contract was a significant agreement between the Sea God and the Sea God Bride, equivalent to completely handing oneself over to the other. It was incredibly precious and rare.
This Sea God Bride was now so determined to break it with him. No matter how much he believed he had no feelings for her, he couldn’t help but feel a bit displeased at this moment.
Feeling somewhat piqued, Yun Qi’s voice turned several shades colder:
“That makes sense. I will also go and research if there are any other ways to break it.”
Chi Wan nodded. She felt that even with the distance between them, the scent on him still drifted over faintly—it was so pleasant she couldn’t help but want to get closer to him.
She secretly wondered if this thing had other bad side effects.
In the next second, the screen of the motionless robot suddenly lit up.
When Dudu opened his eyes and saw Yun Qi, his world collapsed.
Uh-oh… it’s been so long, why hasn’t this Commander left yet?
His little brain spun rapidly, and he finally came up with what he felt was a brilliant way to escape the current situation.
Meeting the two pairs of gazes, Dudu smiled:
“^_^ I’ve lost my memory! May I ask where this is?”
“…”
The two people, both preoccupied with their own thoughts, had no time to deal with Dudu’s clumsy little trick.
Especially Chi Wan, whose mind was filled with the necessity of breaking this thing before leaving. For someone who once had a grudge to be bound by such a strange thing, he must be very troubled too.
At this thought, her little face became even more serious. As if wanting to reassure him, she promised earnestly:
“Don’t worry, I will definitely find a way to break it.”
Yun Qi’s hand gripping the bathrobe tightened. When the words reached his lips, they were even colder:
“It should be broken as soon as possible.”
…
After another hour or so of fussing, Chi Wan was finally free. Coincidentally, people from the Alliance came to deliver the Space Energy Stone. Although it was already dark, she finished washing up, changed into a combat suit, and rushed to the Alliance Headquarters.
In the polluted world, even late at night, Sentinels could always be seen hurrying about everywhere in the Alliance.
After receiving the Space Energy Stone, Chi Wan found a temporary rest room in the headquarters building to rapidly absorb it.
A fresh surge of power poured in. The sensation was unfamiliar and strange. She tried to control the energy, only to find that the newly added Space ability was somewhat difficult to balance with her previous ones.
Moreover, because of the dual abilities, her own energy field threshold seemed to have become more substantial, but the downside was that the overall energy felt more diluted.
Chi Wan was a bit anxious, so she could only go to the professional training building next to the headquarters to consult professional Sentinels.
One must know that in the galaxy, Sentinels have to undergo professional multi-layered training from the moment their Sentinel constitution is activated. Guides, on the other hand, only have some basic training in weapon usage, and their professional training in energy is zero.
This deficiency was something Chi Wan had always wanted to make up for.
“It’s pretty much as you see, Guide Chi Wan.”
The Sentinel in charge of receiving Chi Wan was overly enthusiastic. He took her on a tour of the training building. The fourth floor was the weapons area.
“As you know, a qualified Sentinel must master various firearms and at least one type of cold weapon before they can officially graduate and receive their Sentinel certificate.”
“Firearms are used for quickly dealing with pollutants, but cold weapons are also very important in many situations where firearms cannot be used.”
“Not only that, mastering a cold weapon can greatly improve a Sentinel’s ability to control energy. Especially with weapons like blades and swords, their core has a lot to do with the energy of one’s abilities. Controlling energy with breath, the rotation of strength and energy…”
The receiving Sentinel spoke more and more excitedly, his words non-stop, and some spittle even splashed onto Chi Wan’s hand, which she wiped off discreetly.
“I have a general idea. I came here today mainly wanting to pick a type of cold weapon for training.”
Chi Wan interrupted the man’s words and smiled gratefully:
“Thank you for your hard work. I want to look around by myself first. If there’s anything I don’t understand, I’ll come find you.”
“Ah, okay! Then Guide Chi Wan, please take a look yourself. If you’ve made a choice, I’ll help you register with the training department and match you with a teaching Sentinel~”
The man accompanied her with a smile, thinking that Guide Chi Wan was really beautiful—her skin seemed to be translucent like water.
Chi Wan walked alone toward the cold weapon introduction area. Inside each glass display stand, various cold weapons were detailed. There were dozens of types of blades alone, as well as many weapons she had never seen before.
For example, a weapon composed of a chain and a blade, labeled below: Chain Blade.
Then, Chi Wan’s gaze was drawn to the huge transparent glass wall behind the weapons area.
She took a few steps closer. Looking down from the glass wall on the fourth floor, she could see the Alliance’s large indoor training ground.
Various cold weapon training areas were strictly partitioned. Even at this late hour, a large number of Sentinels were training.
She had some understanding of the Alliance’s Sentinel training. Whether it was firearms or cold weapons, the Sentinels’ abilities would be rated from level one to ten.
Only those who reached level nine were qualified to receive guidance from a Sentinel Commander. Sentinels below level nine either practiced with the base instructors or learned from Sentinels with a higher rank than themselves.
She wasn’t clear on the more detailed rules.
