Streaming Earth Cuisine In The Interstellar to Raise Star Cubs chapter 64.4

Part 4

Ning Yunyi looked down at him coldly. “A life for a life, a debt for a debt. You harmed Ning Yunyi, so you shall lie here for the rest of your life. Without consciousness, it’s a fate worse than death, yet you cannot die. A total living dead.”

Ning Yunyi then pulled out Mu Jiayi’s bracelet and began to manipulate it. He extracted his chat records with Ji Hao, as well as the commands issued by the Crown Prince’s adjutant. Once that was done, he used his own bracelet to edit the files. Soon, a video containing audio and various supporting records was stored on Mu Jiayi’s bracelet, set on a timer.

After arranging everything, Ning Yunyi applied a fresh Invisibility Talisman and waited quietly in the corner.

Before long, footsteps were heard. Zong Ling, having bathed and changed, appeared in a well-fitting suit that highlighted his cold features. He pushed the door open and looked at the sleeping Mu Jiayi with disgust. “Go. Carry him to the living room and put him in his usual spot.”

Since he was playing the “devoted lover,” he usually brought Mu Jiayi and little Lyman along for his livestreams.

The servants were used to this. Two of them stepped forward with their heads bowed, lifted Mu Jiayi, and headed for the living room. They were only surprised that Mu Jiayi was sleeping more deeply than usual; normally, he would wake up at the slightest touch and start cursing, only stopping once the livestream began.

The servants had been prepared to be yelled at. Who knew… he would be so quiet today?

But his face looked peaceful, with nothing out of the ordinary.

Zong Ling was actually in a good mood because of Mu Jiayi’s silence and cooperation. However, thinking about how he had to ride “Sect’s First Blade’s” hype made his feelings complex. Every time he thought of “Sect’s First Blade,” he thought of that Mr. Bai, especially the news that Ning Yunyi was dead.

Why did that man tell him? If he hadn’t, he could still pretend he knew nothing.

Ning Yunyi followed the group out of the room and quickly moved to a corner, waiting to enjoy the upcoming show.

A livestream meant it was more interesting to see it live.

Zong Hao was unaware of any of this. Once little Lyman arrived, Zong Ling had the boy cover Mu Jiayi with a blanket. After preparing everything, he opened the Star Stream account [Mu Sues Zong’s Heart] and began the broadcast.

Ichi received the news as soon as Zong Ling started streaming. Although Mr. Bai said the other was just riding hype, he was still worried and logged in to monitor the situation.

Seeing the number of people online, he curled his lip. Even though this guy had been kicked out of the Zong family, he still had so many fans because of his “devoted lover” persona.

Rather than fanboying over such a sanctimonious guy, they should follow him instead. He was a proper commander and a decent person, at least.

Facing the camera, Zong Ling showed a melancholy look. He first introduced little Lyman and talked about Mu Jiayi’s condition over the last few days. Although his legs were still useless, he took him out for sun every day and his spirits were good—he was sleeping very soundly today, especially.

[Wu-wu, Mu Jiayi might not be a good person, but he’s lucky to have a fiancé who never gives up on him. It’s worth it.]

[To take care of him like this even though he’s crippled… that’s really something.]

[Wait, that food box looks familiar. I just came from a livestream of a lucky fan opening ‘Sect’s First Blade’s’ food. The box ‘Sect’s First Blade’ sent him was exactly like that. It’s expensive but supposedly keeps food perfect for three days.]

[Really? Could the host be one of the ten lucky fans?]

[That’s not right. Wasn’t he just in a live battle with ‘Sect’s First Blade’ alongside Mu Jiayi? Could he have used an alt account to like his rival’s stream?]

Zong Ling had clearly prepared for this question. He smiled and said, “I’m actually not one of them, but that fan happens to be a friend of mine. He knew I’ve been very sad lately because of certain events, so since he was lucky enough to receive it, he gave it to me, hoping it would make me feel better. After all, this is a rare delicacy made by ‘Sect’s First Blade.’ To taste even a bite is a life well-lived.”

[Wow, that friend is so sweet.]

[I’m jealous. I wish I had a friend like that. I wouldn’t be able to part with it, wu-wu.]

[Why does it sound like the host really admires ‘Sect’s First Blade’?]

Zong Ling: “I do admire him greatly. I couldn’t stop things before, but now… this is another way to express my liking for ‘Sect’s First Blade’.” He showed a timely look of melancholy, then smiled at the camera. “Let’s not talk about that. Next, let’s taste this Potato and Beef Brisket. I can’t wait.”

Zong Ling had long been instructed by the Crown Prince. He felt that since “Sect’s First Blade” dared to send it, the first possibility was unlikely. He was prepared.

Even so, when he used the code to open the food box, an overwhelming aroma flooded out. Little Lyman, who had been sitting there with his head down, immediately looked up and couldn’t help but murmur, “It smells so good.”

Zong Ling’s persona included being a “loving father” as well as a “devoted lover.” Hearing this, he forced his gaze away from the Potato and Beef Brisket, which was a masterpiece of color, aroma, and taste. He took out a small bowl and said tenderly, “Lyman, want some too?”

Little Lyman glanced at him. Normally, he wouldn’t want to act, but the child couldn’t resist the delicious smell. He stepped forward obediently.

Zong Ling gave him a small portion and served a bowl for himself. Facing the camera, he smiled gently. “Now, let us, father and son, taste this delicious Ancient Blue Star delicacy for everyone… just smelling it makes my mouth water.”

The viewers in the livestream room were drooling, watching with wide eyes. For a moment, they didn’t even care about Zong Ling’s expression or words; they just wanted to know if the Potato and Beef Brisket was as delicious as it smelled.

Zong Ling had intended to act a bit, but once he took a bite, he forgot everything else. He started shoveling the food into his mouth in huge gulps. Beside him, little Lyman also buried his head in his bowl and started eating frantically.

He felt that with Zong Ling’s character, the man wouldn’t share any of the leftovers if he didn’t eat quickly. He had to eat more. Something this delicious—every bite was a gain.

Just as Zong Ling quickly finished the bowl, he remembered he was still live. He looked up and continued his performance. “Look at me, I forgot to say what it tastes like! It’s too delicious. I’ve never tasted anything so unique in my life. It’s nothing like the exotic beast meat I’ve had before. It’s exceptionally tender and flavorful, with that rich, complex aroma…”

Zong Ling used every descriptive word he knew. While he was talking, little Lyman was frantically grabbing more Potato and Beef Brisket beside him.

Just as Zong Ling finished speaking and was about to serve himself another large bowl, a very sudden click sounded.

The viewers in the livestream room were staring intently at the Potato and Beef Brisket on the screen. Although it was only one dish, the portion was generous. They were swallowing their saliva in envy. When the sound rang out, they didn’t notice at first—until the voice of Mu Jiayi, who had been lying in the background as a prop, rang out. “I am guilty…”

This time, not only the viewers but Zong Ling also frowned and subconsciously turned his head. But what he saw was Mu Jiayi still lying there silently, as if asleep.

However, that voice had definitely belonged to Mu Jiayi.

[Wait, did I just hear Mu Jiayi’s voice? But he’s clearly asleep.]

[Yeah, I thought it was a hallucination. It sounded like… guilty…]

Zong Ling stopped, stood up, and walked toward Mu Jiayi.

Little Lyman continued to eat frantically.

Zong Ling stood before Mu Jiayi and was about to lean over to check when suddenly, a display screen popped up from Mu Jiayi’s bracelet. It was a large screen, facing the livestream camera perfectly and clearly.

At the same time, an audio track appeared on the dark screen and began to play.

“I am guilty. I killed a person… I deserve ten thousand deaths…”

Hearing this clear sentence, the entire livestream room was stunned. The comments stopped completely.

With his back to the livestream, Zong Ling’s face changed even more sharply. He frowned and reached out to turn off the bracelet, but he couldn’t turn it off at all. Simultaneously, he touched Mu Jiayi and finally realized something was wrong. The man was breathing and his body was warm, but he hadn’t woken up despite all this time. He had a foreboding feeling.

“I am guilty. I wronged a person. I was jealous of him and worked with Ji Hao to trick him to the trash planet. Not only did I cheat him out of all his star coins, but I also killed him… I deserve to die. To atone for my sins, I have destroyed my own mental power, hoping to receive his forgiveness.”

Zong Ling was completely panicked, but the bracelet simply wouldn’t shut off.

Following Mu Jiayi’s explosive confession, chat records between Mu Jiayi and Ji Hao began to appear on the display screen. They clearly recorded how he had Ji Hao trick Ning Yunyi and how he had him killed on the trash planet.

The number of viewers in the livestream room skyrocketed at a rate visible to the naked eye, but there wasn’t a single comment. It was like a silent play.

Finally, after all the records were displayed, Mu Jiayi’s bracelet exploded with a bang and finally vanished. But it couldn’t stop the flood of comments that immediately followed.

[Holy crap! Weren’t there rumors before that Mu Jiayi killed the Second Young Master of the Ning family? There was just never any evidence. Good heavens, Mu Jiayi is hammering himself?]

[That’s insane! How could he possibly have a change of heart and destroy his own mental power? What’s going on with him?]

[Could it be that he felt he was being punished after his legs were crippled, so he just ended his life like this?]

[What happened to him? Is he dead or what?]

[I know this! I heard that self-destructing mental power destroys the mental sea. It’s different from self-detonating. It puts a person in a permanent vegetative state. They won’t die, but they’ll never wake up.]

[???]

[Wait, I think this family of three is so strange. Little Lyman is just eating, as if he’s afraid he won’t be able to eat later.]

[Yeah, Mu Jiayi self-destructs and there’s no reaction?]

[God, this family is too weird. The more I think about it, the scarier it gets.]

Ning Yunyi watched the show and then left Zong Ling’s home before the Crown Prince’s men could arrive. He returned to the Ning house in a good mood.

Mu Jiayi was resolved. Now… it was the Crown Prince’s turn.

But before that, he needed to recover the part of his memory that Mu Jiayi had intentionally destroyed. Although he already had a general idea of what had happened, now that there was a way to recover it, he didn’t mind fixing it.

After returning to the Ning house, Ning Yunyi greeted the two who were still playing cat’s cradle and went back to his study. He researched the so-called “reverse healing” and understood it generally. It was a specialized healing method used specifically to destroy a part of “bad” memories.

Every healer had a different method, but to undo it, one only needed the same healer’s healing power to repair it.

Ning Yunyi had already bundled all of Mu Jiayi’s mental power, including his healing power, into a ball and placed it in his spatial storage. It wasn’t troublesome at all now. He brought out the sphere of mental power, lowered his eyes, and with a movement of his palm, began to try and restore his memories.
