Chapter 49: You Kissed Me — Beating up Xie Huaijin / Drunkenness / Kissed Me… part 1
Jiang Chenyan’s expression turned dark as he gritted his teeth and cursed “deathly pervert.” By now, he had finally figured out Xie Huaijin’s routine—the man specifically picked places that made people uncomfortable to poke.
It was natural malicious fun.
“White skin…” coming from Xie Huaijin’s mouth, it didn’t sound like a compliment.
Beside him, Shen Shiyue was also frowning, having long lost his patience with this disgusting persistence.
Naturally, Xie Huaijin had to be foul-mouthed. “Actually, Student Jiang’s waist is also quite slender…”
Shen Shiyue let out a cold laugh. His right fist smashed into Xie Huaijin’s left cheek without any warning. Xie Huaijin didn’t even have time to make a complete dodging movement before a sharp pain radiated from his cheek. His teeth bit into his inner gums, and a metallic sweetness instantly flooded his tongue.
He was also enraged; he hadn’t expected Shen Shiyue to actually make a move.
Violent red bloodstains swirled in his eyes as he grabbed Shen Shiyue’s collar, his elbow slamming hard into the other’s chest. Shen Shiyue let out a muffled groan, his knee capitalizing on the momentum to strike the other’s waist and abdomen.
The two went from standing and hitting each other to grappling on the ground. Xie Huaijin’s sleeve was torn open, and the corner of Shen Shiyue’s mouth was also broken, seeping beads of blood.
Jiang Chenyan opened his mouth but couldn’t make any sound. “…”
He watched the chaotic scene before him with a frown. In his mind, he couldn’t control the playback of the scene from the first time the two of them fought. No matter what, this was indeed the second time they had torn off the mask and come to blows.
It was very sudden. Since when was Shen Shiyue so easily provoked?
Jiang Chenyan’s Adam’s apple rolled, and he finally spoke to advise: “Stop fighting. Let’s talk things out.”
His voice was quickly covered by the dull sound of fists hitting flesh. Shen Shiyue was pinning Xie Huaijin down, his left hand pressing the other’s shoulder. He suddenly flipped over and pressed Xie Huaijin to the ground, his knee pressing against the other’s chest. His fists, carrying the wind, smashed into Xie Huaijin’s face one after another. Every strike was enough to make one’s teeth ache just watching.
Jiang Chenyan realized Shen Shiyue had the upper hand. He clenched his palms, thinking he’d watch the situation for a bit longer. He urged a couple more times with “Stop fighting, something’s going to happen if you keep going,” but he didn’t actually move in.
On second thought, it was fine to fight a bit longer. He had observed that Shen Shiyue had the advantage; it was fine to let him pummel Xie Huaijin for a while.
It wasn’t until the two of them had messy hair and their clothes were torn into an unrecognizable state—with half of Xie Huaijin’s face already swollen—that Jiang Chenyan walked forward quickly. He reached out to grab Shen Shiyue’s arm as it was swinging through the air. “Enough, enough.”
Jiang Chenyan pulled Shen Shiyue off Xie Huaijin. His fingertips touched the man’s burning arm, and he quickly asked, “Are you okay?” Shen Shiyue was panting heavily, his voice raspy from the fight: “I’m alright…”
These words happened to fall into the ears of Xie Huaijin, who had just climbed up from the ground. His chest heaved violently with anger. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his thumb. The crimson smeared onto his pale fingertip, looking exceptionally piercing.
“Alright?” Xie Huaijin sneered. “Shen Shiyue, you sure know how to act pitiful. Do you really think I can’t deal with you?”
The person who was clearly hurt was him! Was Jiang Chenyan blind?
the gloom on Xie Huaijin’s face hadn’t dissipated. The fire in his chest hit the roof; he simply couldn’t suppress that surge of violence. He looked like he was about to lunge at Shen Shiyue again.
“What are you doing?”
An extremely cold voice suddenly rang out. Xie Huaijin’s movements froze instantly. He looked toward the source of the voice. Qi Bai and several Vice Principals were standing not far away with ashen faces. Qi Bai, leading them, had his brows tightly knit as his gaze swept over the injuries on the two men’s faces.
“…”
“Fighting here? Do you have no respect for the school rules?”
The three of them stood in place, their expressions each uglier than the last. Shen Shiyue had marks on the corner of his mouth and forehead; half of Xie Huaijin’s face was swollen.
Jiang Chenyan: “…”
Qi Bai looked at the three of them in this state. His expression didn’t soften in the slightest as he said coldly, “All of you, come over here.”
His gaze lingered briefly on Shen Shiyue and Xie Huaijin before accurately locking onto Jiang Chenyan. The chill in his eyes grew even stronger.
“A three-thousand-word self-reflection. You write five thousand.” Qi Bai’s clear, cold voice held no fluctuation. “Copy the school rules five times. You copy them ten times. School cleaning for one week; you are responsible for the dirtiest trash station and the back alley of the experimental building.”
Jiang Chenyan’s mouth twitched violently. He couldn’t help but speak up in protest: “They’re the ones fighting. Why is my punishment heavier?”
Qi Bai gave him a cold glance. “Failing to intervene in time and adding to the chaos as a bystander—it is only right that you bear joint responsibility.”
Though he spoke the reasons for the punishment, Qi Bai had already sorted out the cause and effect in his heart. The fight was likely because of Jiang Chenyan, right?
Even though they had just finished fighting, the two men’s gazes still instinctively stuck to Jiang Chenyan…
To put it plainly, they were just two idiots. For the sake of fighting over one person, they had even lost their basic logic.
Jiang Chenyan clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. In his heart, he cursed Qi Bai eight hundred times. Incredible. This was clearly a case of using public office for personal revenge. It was obviously Shen Shiyue and Xie Huaijin who fought, yet the heaviest punishment landed on his head. He was deliberately looking for trouble.
After hearing Qi Bai’s decision on the punishment, the Vice Principals didn’t try to stop him. Instead, they nodded in agreement.
One of them pushed his glasses up. “Indeed… the school’s atmosphere has been poor lately. Cases of being late, leaving early, and private disputes have been unceasing despite bans.”
It was a good opportunity to use them as an example to warn others, showing the other students the consequences of violating school discipline.
In the end, without exception, all three received a demerit. Jiang Chenyan stared at the list of punishments on his notice, feeling speechless.
What kind of luck was this? Had they just happened to walk into the line of fire?
The gloom on the three faces was almost tangible. They didn’t say a word to each other, secretly hating Qi Bai for being ruthless enough to strike this hand. The punishment was heavy and sudden, with no consideration for their faces. It was clearly meant to embarrass them.
Qi Bai stood on the steps, expressionlessly watching the three below, showing no sign of being moved.
Suppressing them a bit was for the best.
Lest they become lawless.
…
That afternoon, in the empty space behind the experimental building, Jiang Chenyan held a broom and swept fallen leaves listlessly. He couldn’t help but complain: “Wouldn’t a machine be better? It has to be manual. These damn leaves keep falling after I sweep them; it’s a total waste of time.”
Hearing this, Shen Shiyue paused his movements. He took a half-box of tissues from his pocket and handed it over. “Wipe your sweat first. Don’t be angry; Qi Bai did it on purpose.”
Since his arms were aching from sweeping, Jiang Chenyan simply sat on the steps to rest. “Copying the school rules is a headache. Fortunately, I found someone to ghostwrite it, otherwise I’d really have to stay up until midnight.”
Shen Shiyue: “Help me contact one too. Price isn’t an issue.”
“Small matter.” Jiang Chenyan waved his hand. Just as he took out his light-brain to leave a message for the ghostwriter, the light-brain suddenly rang with an unfamiliar call notification.
He raised an eyebrow and swiped to answer. When he heard Kai Lan’s voice, his gaze darkened instantly.
He glanced left and right at the surveillance cameras behind the experimental building. He immediately stood up and walked quickly to a nearby surveillance blind spot. Leaning his back against the cold wall, he asked in a low voice, “You’re calling at a time like this? Aren’t you afraid of being tracked?”
Shen Shiyue also followed, standing beside Jiang Chenyan.
