Chapter 17: He Had Never Suffered Such Humiliation
The heart-wrenching pain forced Shen Yuan to obey. He obediently tilted his hips up, his arms bracing against the floor. Like a dog, he stuck out his tongue and lowered himself to lick the rice.
Streaming tears blurred his vision, but they couldn’t wash away the deep sense of shame in his heart.
This feeling of humiliation was stronger than any torture device—strong enough to make him wish he could die instantly.
Shen Yuan had never suffered such an insult. the mocking gazes of those around him were like sharp blades, cutting him until he was a bloody mess, yet he didn’t dare resist in the slightest.
He didn’t want to suffer even more ruthless methods.
Watching his animal-like movements, Song Wei couldn’t help but laugh out loud, her face full of mockery:
“Haha, this is hilarious. Master Yu really knows how to play. All he’s missing is a tail, and he’d truly be a dog.”
Although Su Huaiyao was also incredibly pleased, he didn’t dare mock him as openly as his mother. He just symbolically tugged at the woman’s clothes:
“Mom, that’s enough. Stop laughing.”
Only Yu Xiuqing’s face remained dark.
His gaze stayed on the youth’s body—the one he had ravaged so ruthlessly that night—lost in thought.
He hadn’t actually intended to use such force on Shen Yuan, but the other’s resistance had sparked his desire for conquest. In a moment of carelessness, he had nearly killed the boy.
Moreover, the youth currently had his hips tilted up. The long hospital gown was pulled up slightly, faintly revealing thighs as white as porcelain and as slender as bamboo shoots.
His body was shaking incessantly. A thick bandage was still wrapped around his flat abdomen. There was visible redness and swelling there; he must have hit something.
This scene made the man feel somewhat restless.
Yu Xiuqing quickly looked away, his breathing heavy for a few seconds. Then he irritably yanked at his tie, secretly cursing that Shen Yuan’s methods of seduction were becoming increasingly clever!
Suddenly, the half-open door was pushed from the outside. Gu Lanxiao and two nurses entered for the rounds.
Seeing this chaotic scene, everyone was shocked. The nurses were also intimidated by the violence emanating from the man and couldn’t help but take two steps back.
Gu Lanxiao immediately went over to help the boy up. Under the man’s dark gaze, he took off his lab coat and used it to cover the youth’s two trembling, bare legs.
Then, he pulled the dazed Shen Yuan behind him, looking the man directly in the eye without avoidance. He questioned: “He’s already like this, and you still haven’t finished playing?”
Shen Yuan’s fair, pretty fingertips tightly gripped the hem of the coat. His eyelashes were lowered. Whether from fear or something else, he looked as if he were about to cry.
Seeing him wearing another man’s clothes and hiding behind another man, Yu Xiuqing’s anger grew even hotter.
A mocking arc curled his thin lips. His gaze shifted from the youth to Gu Lanxiao, and he sneered:
“Have I finished playing? Gu Lanxiao, he’s someone I spent money to buy. How could I get tired of him? Besides, Doctor Gu shouldn’t be concerned with how I choose to play with my things, right?”
Gu Lanxiao, fearing the man would yank Shen Yuan away, instinctively placed his arm in front of the youth.
In fact, Shen Yuan being humiliated like this was nothing new. Although he was used to it, Yu Xiuqing usually didn’t treat Shen Yuan this way in public.
Gu Lanxiao instinctively looked at Su Huaiyao on the bed and immediately knew it was all because of this white moonlight.
But the seemingly harmless youth was looking back at him with a gaze that only the two of them could understand.
It was a warning and a base threat.
Gu Lanxiao involuntarily clenched his fists.
He loathed Su Huaiyao even more than that fool, Shen Yuan.
Seeing his attention focused on his beloved, Yu Xiuqing felt displeased. He said impatiently: “What? Have nothing left to say? Then please don’t interfere in my family’s business, Doctor Gu.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he let out an inexplicable “tsk.” A sinister smile curled his lips as he asked tentatively:
“Or does Doctor Gu also like this beautiful idiot? If so, why don’t I lend him to you for a couple of days?”
“What kind of madness are you spouting?”
Gu Lanxiao had no choice but to withdraw his gaze. His pupils shrank suddenly as he looked at the man seriously, his voice cold and sharp:
“I indeed have no right to interfere in Master Yu’s business. But Shen Yuan’s wound is already showing signs of worsening. If he doesn’t receive timely treatment, I’m afraid you won’t even have the chance to play with him.”
At this point, he suddenly remembered something. The corners of his mouth quirked into an unreadable smile as he said:
“Oh, unless Sanye is interested in corpses.”
He used the title “Yu Sanye” instead of “Master Yu.” Gu Lanxiao knew very well about Yu Xiuqing’s psychological trauma.
Although the man had taken revenge on many people in private and had blood on his hands, he uniquely felt loathing and an inexplicable fear toward things like corpses.
These words indeed made Yu Xiuqing’s expression change. His heart jolted. He looked at Shen Yuan’s pale face, the violence in his eyes deepening. He couldn’t help but grab Gu Lanxiao’s arm:
“What? Is what you’re saying true?”
Gu Lanxiao didn’t answer; he just nodded.
Then, he pulled Shen Yuan and walked toward the door.
In the room, Yu Xiuqing stood straight, hands in his pockets. His deep, dark eyes narrowed as he stared at Gu Lanxiao’s slender back, a bone-chilling murderous intent arising for no reason.
Even more than corpses, he loathed others coveting his things. The other man had better just want to treat Shen Yuan, and not take the opportunity to target this fool!
Su Huaiyao, seeing himself ignored, began to cough violently. He said weakly: “Xiu… Xiuqing-gege!”
The man at the door heard the call and hurriedly walked back to his side, lightly patting his back. He said tenderly:
“I’m here. Are you coughing?”
Su Huaiyao shook his head weakly, clutching his chest. He asked in confusion: “I’m fine… but just now, Doctor Gu said Shen Yuan’s wound was worsening. What wound is it?”
This question made Yu Xiuqing’s expression grave. He naturally couldn’t let the other know he had slept with Shen Yuan.
He coughed awkwardly and came up with a random excuse to brush it off: “It’s nothing. Perhaps when I pushed him down the stairs to avenge Xiaoyao, he hit something.”
Su Huaiyao still had some doubts about his words, but he didn’t press further. He just hugged him with emotion:
“Thank you for doing that for me, Xiuqing-gege!”
On the other side, Shen Yuan had just been helped out when his legs went limp. The torment of these past few days was more than he could bear. His vision went black, and he collapsed into Gu Lanxiao’s arms.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”
Gu Lanxiao looked anxious. He immediately picked the boy up in a princess carry and ran toward the room.
…
After lying there for who knows how long, Shen Yuan slowly woke up. However, the hospital gown he was wearing had been replaced by regular clothes.
As he sat up, a nurse entered and handed him a discharge certificate, saying:
“Someone has processed your discharge papers. Pack up; you can leave.”
“Discharge… papers?”
Shen Yuan looked at the paper in his hand, looking up to ask the nurse anxiously: “Where… where is Mister Yu?”
