Becoming the Abused Omega and Conquering the Hidden Alpha chapter 21 PART 3
Part 3
Lu Wanqing walked out of the locker room, shaking his head, as if he had said something unnecessary.
Cui You followed in a daze, completely bewildered.
“Bloom a flower? Does getting beaten to a pulp count?”
Shu Ci sat in the tidy storage room under the stairs. After finishing the last magazine on his desk, he closed his eyes and slowly released his pheromones.
Lu Wanqing had many medical science popular science books, and the more he read, the more he understood his Omega body, and the stronger his ability to perceive pheromones became.
Before, he might have had to focus all his attention to retract his pheromones, but now he could read and release and retract them at the same time.
Through repeated releases and retractions, he had a certain understanding of the strength of the energy fluctuations associated with pheromones.
Suddenly, at a certain moment, he had an epiphany about the key to pheromone mimicry. He found a way to make the pheromones fit together perfectly, no longer blindly condensing them together like he had that night.
He excitedly sent a message to Lu Wanqing, then tried it according to this idea.
He tried, and failed.
He tried again, and failed again.
The doorbell rang, and he felt his pheromones had already formed, but before he could distinguish their shape, they suddenly became unstable and exploded.
Shu Ci sighed and rubbed his hair, going to open the door.
“If you don’t come out, I’ll call the police and break in to find you.” In the dog days of summer, Shen Ti’s face was red from the sun. His coconut milk pheromones exuded heat.
Shu Ci was surprised to find that his ability to sense other people’s pheromones had also become sharper, without him even noticing.
“Long story short,” Shen Ti took the water Shu Ci offered, took a sip. “The economic investigation department recently started investigating Shu’s companies. You’re amazing; you found so many clues of suspected economic crimes in such a short time. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have asked my family members to investigate.”
“Just lucky,” Shu Ci didn’t take credit.
Gu Lanzhu had his own investigation methods, but to show off his ability, he even dug out some clues from the sweet and soft original owner’s various materials. He merely had a preview of the script and picked up the scraps.
“I leaked some information to Shu Changhai through my contacts. Wait and see. If they still refuse to return your property, this time they’ll likely get thoroughly exposed,” Shen Ti, when talking about business, had the cunningness that was common among politicians in the Shen family.
Shen Ti, as an Omega in the Shen family, had limited power, so he must have sought help from his family many times.
Shu Ci didn’t know how to thank him, and he was somewhat confused. He didn’t know whether this was all for the original owner’s friend or for himself.
“Next is Gu Lanzhu,” Shen Ti’s face turned worried again. “The lawyer should have told you that your experience at the Central Hotel is difficult to directly use to prosecute him.”
“First, it’s impossible to prove he caused you substantial harm. Second, the Gu family’s influence spans various industries. Many pharmaceutical companies’ shareholders are affiliated with the Gu Corporation, so he can use various methods to escape responsibility for the poisoning.”
“I know, it’s fine, take your time,” Shu Ci shrugged.
He had already realized that the novel’s top male lead wasn’t easy to deal with, and he needed to be fully prepared to deal with him.
“Do you know Gu Lanzhu’s assistant Zhao Qian? I recently chatted with several lawyers, and one of them is from the same hometown as Zhao Qian.”
Shen Ti twitched his lips: “You’re really something, you’re still worrying about others while dealing with your own problems.”
Directors were known for their talkative and gossipy nature.
Shu Ci restrained his smile: “That lawyer said Zhao Qian is a very doting father. See if you can find information about his daughter. If you can win her over, maybe he’ll jump ship from the Gu Corporation.”
“I’ll try,” Shen Ti rolled his eyes. “You, you haven’t even gotten your property back yet, and you’re already planning to poach Gu Lanzhu’s people. Don’t forget, your holiday internship hasn’t started yet, and school will start soon!”
“I haven’t forgotten. I found a temporary job at a film crew near Juqing Road. I have a night shoot tonight, and I can walk there after work.”
Hearing that he would be at the film crew all night, Shen Ti was worried and wanted to go with him. On the way, he was called away by his family, and reluctantly left Shu Ci with two bodyguards.
Shu Ci was surrounded by a group of imposing Alpha bodyguards and arrived at the film crew.
The crew members initially didn’t want him, an Omega, to do manual labor. Seeing the security team around him, they hesitated and finally didn’t refuse him.
He walked around the crew and quickly realized that the male lead didn’t have as many bodyguards as he did. He had them stay discreet and low-key, and after the staff registered him, he was assigned to the props team.
The atmosphere of the film crew in this world wasn’t much different from what he was familiar with. The only unfriendly aspect was a natural pecking order in the crew, with Alpha actors always acting superior to Omega actors.
After an indoor scene, Shu Ci and his temporary worker companions carried a box of props back to the warehouse. On their way, he reflected on the just-concluded shooting.
To be honest, he was already itching to try it himself.
If he were directing, he could have done many things better.
Shu Ci put down the prop box and found a stack of scripts someone had casually left in his companion’s box. He picked them up and glanced through them, still unsatisfied.
“You’ve worked hard; drink some water,” his companion offered him a bottle of water.
“Thank you,” Shu Ci wiped the sweat from his forehead, opened it, and drank it down.
Midway through, his pupils constricted.
This person’s voice… sounded familiar.
His hand trembled, and the water bottle fell to the ground, spilling liquid everywhere. Shu Ci looked at the person beside him sharply; his vision became blurry. “Zhao Qian?!”
Shu Ci shouted alertly, feeling the surge of his bodyguards’ pheromones as they rushed towards him.
Zhao Qian grabbed his arm, pinning him tightly and dragging him out through the back door of the warehouse.
Shu Ci gritted his teeth, trying to release his pheromones to attack him.
“Save your energy,” Zhao Qian pressed on his pressure point, his face grim. “AO pheromones are useless against us Betas.”
Shu Ci struggled to break free, discovering not only that he was powerless, but also that his voice was almost gone, his hair sticking messily to his face.
The Alpha bodyguards swarmed in, fighting Zhao Qian’s people. Both sides were evenly matched, but Shu Ci’s bodyguards had a numerical advantage and quickly subdued Zhao Qian’s men.
Just as he thought the situation had turned around, a helicopter descended from the sky.
A rope was lowered. Zhao Qian grabbed the rope with one hand and held Shu Ci tightly with the other. A sense of weightlessness instantly hit him; the ground beneath his feet was getting farther and farther away.
A loud rumbling sounded overhead, and Shu Ci was covered in a chilling coldness from head to toe.
This scene was so damn familiar! Wasn’t this the famous scene of the original owner’s escape attempts?
Anyway, it was Gu Lanzhu using a helicopter to snatch someone from a crowd and lock them up in a small dark room on some island!
“Damn it, can the plot skip like this?!”
