Paranoid Boss Always Wants to Possess Me CHAPTER 106

Chapter 106: Song Jin’s Wedding

Chen Jiamu had known they would eventually reach the stage of getting a marriage license, but he hadn’t expected it to happen so soon.

The seed planted four years ago had now grown into a towering tree, branching out and filling every corner of his heart.

When they returned to the city, it just happened to be the day of Song Jin’s wedding. The two shared a look in the car, both curling their lips into smiles before stepping into the hotel one after the other.

This simple wedding only invited a few close friends. Seeing Song Jin finally find her happiness, Su Yi’s eyes grew moist.

If you are happy, I will be the first to shed tears.

The two had known each other since childhood and remained close even after becoming wives. Even during the four years Song Jin was abroad, they had maintained contact.

“I’ve finally seen you happy, A-Jin.”

Song Jin wore an elegant and dignified Qipao. Holding her wine glass, she looked at Su Yi with a smile. Hearing the blessing, a sweet smile rippled across her lips. “I think I will stay happy forever.”

Seeing the older generation chatting so passionately, Chen Jiamu tactfully retreated to a corner.

The An family was also on Song Jin’s guest list. The three women were chatting fervently, and the men beside them couldn’t get a word in, so they could only raise their glasses to toast and congratulate each other.

After a month of not seeing her, An Yiyi seemed to have become much more silent. However, the moment she saw Chen Cheng, a flicker of emotion still crossed her eyes.

Her gaze subconsciously followed Chen Cheng. When their eyes met, Chen Cheng looked away and unhurriedly walked toward the hotel’s back garden.

Seeing this, An Yiyi put down her glass and followed.

This scene was witnessed by Chen Jiamu. Frowning slightly, a question mark appeared in his mind.

Did these two have a falling out?

Wasn’t their relationship quite good before?

An Yiyi used to call her “Sister” this and “Sister” that, but now they seemed so estranged.

“What are you looking at?”

Suddenly, Li Xi’s voice sounded from above. Chen Jiamu looked up to see Li Xi walking toward him with a wine glass.

“Nothing. It just seems like my sister and An Yiyi are having a conflict. Neither of them is speaking.”

“It feels weird.”

Chen Jiamu raised his glass toward him and took a shallow sip. Li Xi sat down beside him, looking toward the backyard with a smile.

“You can’t help them with their business; they have to solve it themselves.” Li Xi’s words carried a deeper meaning. Chen Jiamu’s movement of drinking paused, and he looked up with a flash of shock in his eyes.

Is it what I think it is?

Or am I overthinking?

“An Yiyi’s problem has nothing to do with your sister.”

Since Li Xi had put it that way, even a fool like Chen Jiamu would understand.

“It’s not… this… I…”

In an instant, Chen Jiamu was so shocked he couldn’t speak a complete sentence…

No wonder!

No wonder!

If the problem was on An Yiyi’s side, then the points he found strange before finally had an explanation.

An Yiyi’s closeness to Chen Cheng wasn’t because she wanted to get close to him; her target was never him to begin with…

“Whew… then I can understand it now.”

“However, An Yiyi might be disappointed. Just two days ago, Bai Jing excitedly told me that my sister agreed to have dinner with him.”

“My sister rarely agrees to eat with men outside of work. Bai Jing is the first.”

Chen Jiamu looked toward the backyard thoughtfully, but Li Xi only shook his head after hearing this.

“Your Bai Jing probably doesn’t have a chance either. Although I don’t know why Sister Chen suddenly distanced herself from An Yiyi, I can tell from our previous interactions that your sister isn’t entirely without feelings for her.”

“I just don’t know what kind of feelings they are. We can’t interfere in their business.”

Li Xi saw the matching plain rings on their ring fingers, and a sweet smile curled onto his lips.

“You knew a long time ago?” Chen Jiamu turned to him in surprise. How did he know so much?

“An Yiyi and I met once abroad. She helped me.”

When Li Xi mentioned “help,” Chen Jiamu didn’t need to think to know that his situation back then must have been difficult. At this thought, his heart suddenly twinged. Chen Jiamu covered his chest, his face turning a bit pale.

“What is it?”

Noticing his poor complexion, Li Xi leaned in worriedly. Chen Jiamu shook his head and gave him a deep look. “I just feel like everything is finally turning sweet after all the bitterness.”

As he spoke, smiles bloomed on both of their faces.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the hotel’s backyard, Chen Cheng heard the footsteps behind her and helplessly turned around.

“Sister…” An Yiyi’s eyes were slightly red. She bit her lip and called out to Chen Cheng in a small voice.

“I haven’t seen you for half a month; you’ve lost weight.”

“What, did you fight with your family again?”

Chen Cheng sipped her wine with feigned nonchalance, completely ignoring the tears in the girl’s eyes. She knew what she wanted to say.

But she couldn’t respond to those feelings. She… didn’t dare to. She didn’t dare to indulge in a relationship that wouldn’t be accepted by the world.

Perhaps she would have regrets now, but regret is the norm of life.

“Sister… I…” An Yiyi heard her distant inquiry, her nose stinging. Her tears instantly collapsed, dripping down one by one.

“Sister…”

“This past half-month…”

Before An Yiyi could finish, Chen Cheng immediately interrupted her, a pang of bitterness surging through her heart. “I was just about to tell you. I met a very interesting boy these past two weeks. He asked me to travel with him for the New Year. Jiamu doesn’t even know yet; you’re the first.”

“You…” An Yiyi felt as if she had been struck by lightning. She stood frozen on the spot, undried tears still clinging to the corners of her eyes.

“Haha, you didn’t expect it, did you? I didn’t expect it either. Fate moved so fast I couldn’t even block it.”

Chen Cheng met her gaze without hesitation, her eyes terrifyingly honest.

Looking at her, An Yiyi’s throat suddenly throbbed with pain. She couldn’t say a single word. That pain squeezed into her narrow chest.

The pain made her heart skip a beat, and her entire face turned deathly pale.

“What’s wrong? Are you too cold?”

“Then go back quickly. The wind is quite strong today, and it looks like it’s going to snow.”

Chen Cheng forced a smile, walked over to her side, and gave her a gentle push. The familiar scent, the familiar voice—yet An Yiyi was too devastated to hear a single word.

She could only be pushed back toward the front hall by Chen Cheng like a puppet.

The love that had yet to be voiced was scattered into the bitterness of her chest.

Chen Cheng left, heading toward Chen Jiamu’s direction. An Yiyi leaned against the wall, her eyes hollow and vacant. As she shifted her gaze slightly, she met a pair of deep and indifferent eyes.

It was Li Xi…

“What, are you here to see me make a fool of myself?”

Facing Li Xi, An Yiyi couldn’t control her temper. She tilted her head back, stubbornly holding in her chest full of bitterness.

“I have no interest in that. I just want to say that today is Song Ayi’s wedding, and I don’t want any accidents to happen.”

Li Xi turned and walked away after speaking. An Yiyi stomped her foot in anger, fiercely wiped the tears from her eyes, and glared at Chen Cheng’s back with puffed-out cheeks, silently clenching her fists.
