Popular Guide: S-Class Sentinels All Want to Monopolize Me Chapter 103

Chapter 103. Monitoring Department

The wooden bed creaked. Shen Ji leaned against the wall, the red light of the collar flickering on his mask, reflecting a scene of gloom.

The name Si Yu was like a stone thrown into an ice lake. Shen Ji couldn’t help but frown, a ripple of emotion rising in his heart.

“So what?”

Shen Ji’s voice came through the mask. He turned, his movements carrying a hint of stiffness.

“Si Yu is Si Yu, and she is she. You can’t stop me, Yasuo.”

Yasuo couldn’t help but sneer. He had originally thought that bringing up Si Yu would make Shen Ji show some restraint, but he hadn’t expected him to still be so stubborn.

“Do you have to see tragedy again before you behave?”

Shen Ji didn’t answer, but slowly raised his hand, his fingertips falling on the bracelet on his wrist.

The Jiaoshe twisted restlessly on the floor, the black gas between its scales winding around its body in wisps.

“Shen Ji, you dare!”

Yasuo lunged again, his fist carrying a forceful wind as it swung toward the man’s cheek, but Shen Ji flexibly avoided it. The man didn’t even give him a glance, his gaze fixed on the screen of his communicator, his fingertips tapping rapidly on the virtual keyboard.

Yasuo watched him press the send button with his own eyes. Gritting his teeth, he slammed his fist into the table.

Crack—

The table split open from the center. The sounds of breaking and objects rolling onto the floor echoed in the silent room. Outside the door, the sound of triggers being cocked was unending, and the alarm on the wall was annoyingly loud.

“You’re simply insane.”

Yasuo raised his foot and kicked an instrument of unknown purpose that was rolling on the floor.

Bang—

The instrument was kicked up with great force, grazing Shen Ji’s cheek and colliding with the metal mask on the man’s face. A metallic hum rang out, and then the object flew straight toward the communicator.

The hard alloy surface was smashed with a dent, and sparks flew.

He pointed at Shen Ji, his voice trembling with anger.

“You clearly know what this means! You clearly know how the White Tower will treat her. Shen Ji, to make a move on a Guide, you’re truly pathetic.”

Shen Ji leaned in the corner, the red light of the collar gradually calming down, but his lips curled into a cold arc.

“Pathetic? Perhaps so.”

He paused, his tone as flat as if he were talking about someone else’s business.

“I only reported the fact that she marked Mo Xiao. I didn’t say anything else. This is the last bit of leeway I can leave for her.”

“Leeway? You’re just deceiving yourself!”

Yasuo was trembling with rage. Looking at this man before him who had been consumed by obsession, he felt an utter sense of unfamiliarity and a faint rising disgust.

“Your so-called leeway is to send her completely into the White Tower’s monitoring circle, letting those disgusting things take notice of her. Shen Ji, I hope you don’t regret this.”

After saying that, Yasuo didn’t want to look at him for another second. He turned and kicked the door open, a sharp killing intent sweeping through the entire corridor.

His cold gaze swept over the many guns that were instantly aimed at him.

“Get lost.”

The Sentinels were cowed by the fury surrounding him and instinctively stepped back to clear a path, not even having the courage to stop him.

Shen Ji looked at those Sentinels at the door. Look at that—making such a big fuss over a little noise. This feeling of being guarded against like a thief… he never wanted to experience it again.

So… he would definitely not regret it.

Yasuo walked out of Team 2’s activity area, the fire in his heart still unquenchable. He had intended to head back to Team 5’s area, but now he turned and headed toward the Medical Department.

He had to get a word to An Se first and tell him what happened today. At the very least, he wanted An Se to be prepared on his end. With An Se’s authority, Su Tang wouldn’t be too pathetic if the White Tower took action.

And then there was Mo Xiao; he wanted to know the real situation regarding the application Shen Ji had just mentioned.

As the morning sun filtered through the gaps in the curtains, Su Tang was still not fully awake when she was disturbed by a hurried knocking at the door.

Rubbing her bleary eyes, she sat up straight.

“Meow~”

The little black cat was sleeping beside Su Tang. It was clearly dissatisfied with the noise outside, arching its back. It had just bared its sharp claws when it saw where it was and immediately retracted them.

Su Tang couldn’t help but smile, scratching the little guy’s chin to soothe him.

“Be good. Don’t make a sound. I’ll go see.”

Usually, someone she knew would notify her on her bracelet before coming over. Since there was no message, it was likely a stranger visiting.

Could something have happened this early in the morning?

Su Tang frowned, tidied her clothes, and opened the door. She saw An Se standing at the door with a grave expression. Seeing her open the door, his eyebrows flickered upward, and his eyes shifted backward, signaling for her to look behind him.

Behind An Se stood several strangers in white lab coats with recorders on their left shoulders. They were carrying instruments, and the smell of disinfectant could be caught even from a distance.

“Director An Se? This is…”

Su Tang’s heart tightened, and she instinctively took a half-step back. If they were from the Medical Department, An Se wouldn’t have failed to tell her in advance.

Then these people…

Her heart rate gradually accelerated. Could it be that my soothing of Zhan Ye yesterday caught the attention of the White Tower?

But didn’t An Se tell her yesterday that he would keep Zhan Ye in the Medical Department for a while and slowly release news of his recovery?

An Se didn’t answer directly, his eyes softening.

“Is it convenient for us to come in first?”

Su Tang paused for a moment. Seeing An Se give her a small nod, she stepped back and let those people in.

An Se stepped into the room, his gaze quickly sweeping over Su Tang’s slightly pale face. His tone carried a deliberate seriousness and a sense of detachment.

“Guide Su Tang, the White Tower’s Monitoring Department received news last night that there might be abnormal spiritual fluctuations in your body. A routine check is required.”

He paused, turning slightly so Su Tang could see the full appearance of those behind him.

“These are colleagues from the Monitoring Department. They knocked on the doors of my Medical Department first thing this morning. I can’t match such dedication.”

“Director An Se is joking. We received an emergency notification and are just doing our duty. However, the Guide Protection Association regulations state that any non-medical organization checking a Guide’s physical condition must be accompanied by senior medical personnel. That’s why we went to you so early and disturbed your rest. We are very sorry.”

Through his chat with them, An Se informed Su Tang of their intentions.

The White Tower Monitoring Department… Su Tang’s right hand suddenly clenched, and fearing they would notice, she quickly forced herself to relax.

“Look at what you’re saying. You’ve seen her. If you have questions, hurry up. My Medical Department is also very busy.”

The white coats nodded repeatedly and immediately stepped forward, taking out testing instruments and record boards. A series of questions followed.

“Guide Su, may I ask if you’ve felt unusually excited spiritual power lately? Have you had headaches, dizziness, or loss of emotional control? Have there been any abnormal physical reactions, such as inexplicable heat or stinging?”
