Forcibly Wooing in the Apocalypse, A Little Clinginess in Brother’s Embrace CHAPTER 13

Chapter 13: Hurry Up and Soothe Me
Especially since they were partners who would face life and death together, their fates intertwined.
So, with this intimate partner beside him, Qin Xiao spread his hands. “Candy? I want some too.”
“There isn’t any.”
Ji Nian sat down beside him, his tone cold and emotionless, his usual impassive expression returning.
They were sitting on a crate of white liquor. Qin Xiao propped one leg up, his shoe resting on the crate, staring at Ji Nian’s pale and handsome face, scoffing before getting up and leaning against the wall.
He was clearly displaying some displeasure, as if saying: I’m angry, so hurry up and soothe me!
The owner’s daughter had stopped crying and unwrapped the candy, putting it in her mouth. The sweet taste melted in her mouth, dispelling any unpleasantness.
The owner’s wife handed the daughter to the owner and went to a cardboard box, bringing out two packets of milk, two days past its expiration date.
But it wouldn’t kill anyone.
She threw them to the two men, her face stern. “If it weren’t for my daughter, I would have thrown you out!”
Even in the darkest of times, she didn’t want her daughter to see the darkest side of humanity.
The two men, still tied up, grabbed the milk from the ground, tore open the packets with their teeth, and drank.
In just three seconds, the milk packets were empty.
“Bang!”
“Heh heh heh…”
Upstairs, the zombies in the convenience store finally broke down the door, roaring angrily inside, wandering around, looking for the two humans.
But with their brains practically nonexistent, they only knew that the delicious meat had suddenly disappeared, but not where it had gone.
Even if they saw them go down into the basement, they forgot immediately; their brains didn’t retain information.
So, after a few roars, the zombies left, their stomachs empty.
The owner and his wife had saved Ji Nian and Qin Xiao, but that didn’t mean they expected them to stay.
Qin Xiao and Ji Nian understood. They were going to leave anyway. That night, they secretly went upstairs to check the convenience store. Finding no zombies, they decided to leave.
The owner’s wife packed two bags full of food and water for them, her eyes welling up at their farewell. “I hope that when this is all over, we can see each other again.”
“Yeah, take care of yourselves.”
Ji Nian nodded. Qin Xiao used rope to tie the two large bags of food around his waist. It was comical, but if they encountered a surprise zombie attack, it would give him free hands to fight.
The two boys set off again, taking the two hulking men with them.
Leaving them behind would be a problem.
The owner’s family had helped them so much; the least they could do was take the two troublemakers away.
The two men naturally didn’t want to go, but the store owner pulled out a gun and pointed it at their temples, and the two immediately gave in.
He also gave them two pills of “Smiling Half-Step Away” (rat poison—not very potent).
The antidote was with Ji Nian.
This way, the two men had to follow them, and only when they were far away would Ji Nian give them the antidote.
Their weapons had been confiscated; their fighting abilities were low, and what could they do if they disobeyed?
They didn’t dare to make a sound when they left the basement for fear of attracting zombies.
The shelves in the convenience store had all fallen to the ground, the goods scattered everywhere, making it almost impossible to walk.
They couldn’t turn on the lights; they could only rely on the faint moonlight filtering in from outside, and they didn’t have time to pick up the things.
“Creak.”
The bearded man stepped on something, making a noise.
Everyone was on edge, startled by the sound.
“Keep your eyes open; if you make another sound, don’t blame me if I push someone out to the zombies.”
Qin Xiao warned in a low voice. He went to the convenience store entrance, crouching down to look outside. Seeing nothing, he raised his hand. “We can go.”
The group fled under the cover of night, like thieves.
It went surprisingly smoothly; the two men were scared silly and very cooperative.
They soon reached the car, even their backpacks still lying on the ground.
Ji Nian picked up the backpacks. They got into their respective cars, starting the engines and speeding away.
Qin Xiao’s car was in front. Ji Nian helped him untie the rope around his waist and took down the two bags of food.
Then he opened the backpacks, keeping what they could use and throwing away the rest.
Neither car was going fast; without lights, visibility was very low.
Qin Xiao was also worried that the bearded man’s car would suddenly turn around and go back to the convenience store, harming the owner’s family.
Zombies gathered in small groups on the streets; upon hearing the sound of the cars, they would moan and chase after them.
But their limbs were stiff, and they couldn’t run very fast. So, while driving, they were just garbage; Qin Xiao didn’t care about them at all.
After driving slowly for a hundred kilometers, as dawn broke, without seeing any zombies, the two cars stopped side-by-side.
Without getting out of the car, they just rolled down the windows. Ji Nian threw the antidote over, then handed them a small bag of food. “If you have any sense, don’t go back to the convenience store owner. Even if you do, the owner has a gun, and you two are no match for him.”
After handing over the things, Ji Nian rolled up the window. The bearded man urgently asked, “Hey? Wait, where are you going?”
“Wherever we’re going, you’re not coming.”
Qin Xiao put his arm around Ji Nian’s shoulder and looked at them. “We’re just fine as we are; anyone else is a hindrance.”
After saying that, he retracted his arm, stepped on the gas pedal, and drove off.
Though they said that, they couldn’t actually stop the men from following.
The two men discussed and decided that it was safer to follow them, so they trailed behind.
“Give me some water.”
Qin Xiao said to Ji Nian as he drove.
Ji Nian, who had already put on his backpack, took out half a bottle of water, opened it, and handed it to him.
Qin Xiao drank it in one gulp, stopped the car, and turned to Ji Nian. “I need to pee. You going?”
He put down the empty mineral water bottle, unzipped his pants, and started to relieve himself.
Ji Nian looked at him with disgust. “Go outside and pee.”
Qin Xiao had already taken it out and hadn’t put it back yet. “I’ll open the window. We can reuse this bottle, and we won’t have to get out of the car in the future, avoiding zombie attacks.”
“You’re unbelievable…”
“Bang!”
“Heh heh heh…”
The car suddenly shook.
The next second, a zombie face appeared outside the passenger-side window—one ear missing, its hand covered in blood—staring at the people in the car, forcefully hitting the window, leaving bloody handprints.
Qin Xiao yelled “Damn it!”, pulled his member back, and sped off.
The zombie chased after them; there was only one, disheveled, and was hit by the following bearded man “Bang!”.
The bearded man had originally intended to knock down the zombie and crush it into a meat pie. Unexpectedly, the knocked-down zombie flew into the air, landing “splat” on his windshield.
“Oh my god! Ah—”
That terrifying face appeared right in front of him.
The two in the car screamed, frantically swerving the steering wheel to shake off the zombie.
They were shaken to their core!
The bearded man drove incredibly fast, exceeding his usual performance, quickly catching up to Qin Xiao’s car, his face pale and his palms sweaty.
