Chapter 28: Escape part 1
In the blink of an eye, a week had passed.
November 15th arrived, marking the final registration deadline for the Source Weapon Manufacturing Competition.
Tapping into the official website, one could see the number of applicants.
Yun Yingzhi clicked in to take a look and was startled by the massive number of people. He sincerely felt that trying to make a living based on talent was far from easy.
The pressure was immense.
Under such high competition, could he really achieve a good result?
Feeling the weight of it, Yun Yingzhi opened his personal terminal.
Designing a new model of source weapon relied firstly on a fleeting spark of inspiration, and secondly on accumulated knowledge. Of course, the most important factor was talent.
It had been quite a while since Yun Yingzhi first thought of designing a spatial-restriction source weapon. Since Ji Xiaobo and Jing Haomiao weren’t in a hurry for their weapons, he had poured all his efforts recently into researching spatial-restriction inscriptions.
It was a dull and long process.
Through repeated refinement, perfection, and multiple attempts, he had wasted a considerable amount of money and still hadn’t produced a finished product. However, he wasn’t in a rush. When he first entered this industry, he knew that manufacturing source weapons wasn’t as easy as he’d imagined.
Those were lessons learned in blood and tears; after all, because his destructive power was too great when he was a child, he had nearly forced Yun Yinghui to sell himself to pay off the debts.
After modifying the design blueprints once more, he decided to go to the Source Weapon Manufacturing Department’s studio for practice.
On the way, he spotted a familiar figure again.
It was Elvis.
For Yun Yingzhi, compared to his classmates calling him “Battle-rabbit” every other sentence lately, the thing that troubled him most was Elvis.
Elvis would always come looking for him.
Since dodging Elvis in the library, Yun Yingzhi had sacrificed far too much to avoid him.
For instance, in a moment of panic, he had accidentally wandered into the ladies’ restroom.
Fortunately, it was empty at the time, so he didn’t see anything he shouldn’t have, but it was still enough to make him feel utterly mortified.
Or, he had jumped directly from a twelve-story building.
Even though his second form had strong jumping abilities, jumping from such a high floor still made him a little scared.
He had even transformed into his second form to crawl through dog and cat flaps.
He had tried every possible way to avoid Elvis, but Elvis simply didn’t know how to take a hint and kept trying to corner him.
From a short distance away, Yun Yingzhi’s eyes met Elvis’s. He instinctively took a step back, turned around, and prepared to bolt.
But before he could run, a spatial shift brought Elvis directly in front of him, blocking his path.
Yun Yingzhi’s eyelids twitched as he blurted out, “I… I can’t hold it anymore. I need to go to the restroom.” In fact, he had used this excuse more than three times recently.
Passing students from the academy looked at the two of them with confusion, with some whispering from time to time about “wanting to see the second form of our Battle-rabbit.”
Yun Yingzhi’s face turned bright red.
Elvis placed his right hand on Yun Yingzhi’s shoulder. The weight wasn’t heavy, yet it made every hair on Yun Yingzhi’s body stand on end, feeling as though he were bound by something.
Elvis said, “I’ll take you.”
Yun Yingzhi: “…?” Where to?
Amidst Yun Yingzhi’s confusion, Elvis added, “I’m worried you’ll enter the ladies’ room again.”
Thinking of what had happened not long ago, Yun Yingzhi felt a wave of mental collapse.
Then, Yun Yingzhi felt the scene before him shift. The next moment, Elvis had brought him to a strange place.
It was a…
Restroom stall.
It looked somewhat familiar, likely a restroom on some floor of a teaching building within the academy.
He could still hear the voices of several students talking.
“Why won’t our School Beauty admit the little pet is him?”
“To avoid admitting he’s the true identity of the Battle-rabbit, he actually said the Battle-rabbit is an elementary schooler. Our School Beauty is really going all out.”
After a low chuckle, the person added, “I’m going to look for more footage of the Battle-rabbit later!”
“Count me in.”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
The corners of Elvis’s lips curved slightly.
Yun Yingzhi’s cheeks flushed in waves.
Fine beads of sweat broke out on Yun Yingzhi’s forehead. The sound of running water came from outside the door—likely the sound of those students relieving themselves—followed by the splashing sound of a faucet.
One of them said, “Hey, don’t you two just leave. Come over and wash your hands.”
“You’re the only one so obsessed with hygiene.”
“Oh, I’m not dirty, it’s fine.”
“Crap, what kind of nonsense is that? How about I don’t wash my hands and touch your faces?”
The sound of hand-washing followed.
As the three continued talking, the conversation shifted to other topics before they finally left.
Judging by the sounds, only Yun Yingzhi and Elvis remained in the entire restroom.
Elvis suddenly asked, “Do you need my help?”
Yun Yingzhi froze. Help?
With what?
Did he have any business that required troubling Elvis?
Amidst Yun Yingzhi’s incomprehension, Elvis said, “Didn’t you say you wanted to use the restroom?”
Yun Yingzhi thought to himself that he had indeed used that excuse to avoid Elvis. In other words, whenever he met Elvis, he was either on the way to the restroom or on the way to jumping out a window.
Wait!
Was there anything he needed help with regarding the restroom?
Yun Yingzhi’s pupils shook violently. It couldn’t be the kind he was thinking of, could it?
Just as Yun Yingzhi thought this, Elvis’s hand suddenly brushed against his trousers.
Overwhelmed by shock, Yun Yingzhi’s body swayed. Elvis caught him just in time, saying, “How do you not know how to do anything?”
To prevent Elvis’s expensive hands from doing something they shouldn’t, Yun Yingzhi immediately grabbed them.
Elvis lowered his gaze slightly, looking at his hands being held.
He could hear Yun Yingzhi’s frantic heartbeat and feel the sweat on the palms of the hands holding him. He thought that Yun Yingzhi must be very nervous right now.
Yun Yingzhi looked at Elvis with a panicked expression.
According to his initial plan, he thought Elvis would leave with the other geniuses of the academy at the end of the month. Counting the days on his fingers, he felt victory was in sight.
However, Elvis had been far too persistent in his scrutiny lately.
He realized deeply this time that this couldn’t go on; he had to find a way to end their relationship.
Yun Yingzhi’s mind raced. What should he do?
First, appeal to his emotions and reason with logic. If that really didn’t work, then…
Yun Yingzhi thought fiercely to himself: he would threaten the Prince. He would use the fact that the Prince was a man but was “incapable” in that area to threaten him.
Of course, that was a last resort. First, he needed to apologize to the Prince.
Meeting Elvis’s eyes, Yun Yingzhi said with total sincerity, “Your Highness, I’m sorry.” Feeling Elvis’s aura was a bit too powerful, he quickly lowered his head.
Elvis tried to pull back his hands, only to find to his surprise that Yun Yingzhi’s grip was quite strong. He actually couldn’t pull them back immediately.
Elvis: “…”
Not wanting to startle the rabbit, Elvis decided to let Yun Yingzhi continue holding his hands. With a slight upward lilt of his voice, he let out an inquiring “Mm?”
He wondered in his heart: why was Yun Yingzhi suddenly apologizing?
Yun Yingzhi said with a sincere face, “Your Highness, I am deeply sorry. I don’t know why it happened that day; perhaps I was possessed by a pervert and… slept with you.” At this point, his face was filled with shame—genuine shame.
Elvis: “…”
Elvis: “…………”
In that moment, even Elvis couldn’t maintain his expression. It shattered.
Overwhelmed by the shock, Elvis actually didn’t know what to say.
Yun Yingzhi added, “Your Highness, I know I shouldn’t have done that, but… but I really didn’t mean it that day. Please forgive me.”
Elvis’s lips parted slightly. He didn’t know what to say for a long while, his expression still in a state of being “cracked” from the shock.
Yun Yingzhi sniffled and apologized sincerely again: “Your Highness, also… it’s just… I shouldn’t have run away wearing your clothes that day. Please forgive me.” As he spoke, he peeked at Elvis cautiously.
By this time, Elvis finally managed to stitch his shattered expression back together. On the surface, he looked expressionless, showing no emotion at all.
Seeing that Elvis didn’t speak, Yun Yingzhi grew even more nervous. He lowered his head again, not daring to speak.
A sound came from outside the door as more students entered the restroom.
Both Yun Yingzhi and Elvis kept silent by mutual agreement.
Once the people outside left, Yun Yingzhi looked up at Elvis with an anxious expression.
Elvis said, “What if… I refuse to forgive you?”
Following those words, Elvis reached out his arm and “kabedon-ed” Yun Yingzhi against the wall of the stall.
Yun Yingzhi’s heart went thump-thump-thump—not from romance, but from panic.
Was Elvis going to punish him?
Sweat dampened Yun Yingzhi’s forehead, making him look particularly fragile and helpless at this moment.
With one hand pinning Yun Yingzhi against the wall, Elvis slightly raised his other hand, wanting to wipe the sweat from the boy’s brow.
The next moment…
