Rebirth of the Spiritual Power King of Pop Chapter 27

Chapter 27: Too Much Has Been Leaked

The recording hall had excellent soundproofing, and the doors opened and closed almost silently. Chi Shaochen had already heard from Minister Xu about Xiahou Qian playing piano, so his movements were very light. Afraid of disturbing him, he didn’t move further after opening the door, simply standing outside to listen. Thus, the focused Xiahou Qian didn’t notice him.

Now, Xiahou Qian wasn’t just playing; he was singing along. Naturally, the song was still “FAKE.”

Perhaps Xiahou Qian knew, or perhaps he didn’t, but this song had leaked too much. If someone else were singing it, even if Chi Shaochen heard it, he wouldn’t think much of it—at least not like this.

As mentioned before, Xiahou Qian’s voice had an incredible emotional infection, and singing his own songs gave him an extra boost. “FAKE” perfectly matched Xiahou Qian’s current mood, allowing Chi Shaochen to clearly feel the struggle for happiness within him.

Yes, not just happiness, but struggle!

Xiahou Qian’s unusual behavior lately had worried him. It had worsened after yesterday, and seeing him act as if nothing happened this morning forced Chi Shaochen to hold back his questions, even though he was desperate for answers. Now, listening to this song, he felt it might be a breakthrough.

Xiahou Qian played and sang with total focus, and Chi Shaochen listened just as intently. But the more he understood, the less he could comprehend. Why was Xiahou Qian so apprehensive? Did he not trust him? That didn’t seem right; he could feel Xiahou Qian’s trust and reliance. It was more like the youth didn’t trust himself, or perhaps, the world. If this song truly reflected his psyche, maybe he could understand the lyrics in the most literal way?

Based on his knowledge of Xiahou Qian, the boy hadn’t suffered from emotional trauma. He’d had someone investigate last night and had read the report before coming to Qianchen today. Before him, Xiahou Qian hadn’t had an emotional or physical relationship with anyone.

Chi Shaochen believed he’d treated Xiahou Qian very well since they’d been together, and he could see Xiahou Qian liked him. He couldn’t figure it out. Despite his high IQ and EQ, he was currently at a loss.

Ultimately, Chi Shaochen didn’t disturb Xiahou Qian. He quietly exited the piano room. After telling Minister Xu to remember to remind Xiahou Qian to eat, he left Qianchen without explanation. No one dared to ask why.

He didn’t return to the office but called his assistant, telling them to immediately book a reliable psychologist. He didn’t care how the assistant did it, as long as the renowned doctor agreed to see him immediately. Once confirmed, he drove over.

When Chi Shaochen arrived at the high-end office building where the clinic was located, he saw no one except the doctor who opened the door. He didn’t know if this was his assistant’s arrangement or if the clinic was always this private for patient confidentiality; he didn’t care to ask.

“I was a bit surprised to hear CEO Chi was coming, but it seems the patient isn’t you.” The doctor was a gentle-looking man in his thirties. His voice matched his appearance. Since he wasn’t wearing glasses, he didn’t give off the vibe of a “refined predator.”

“I’m here to consult on some issues…” Chi Shaochen detailed his findings and doubts. He wasn’t stingy with words, as this concerned Xiahou Qian; he didn’t want a misdiagnosis due to a poor description.

“Since you aren’t the patient, everything is based on your subjective view. I can only analyze based on your words, so I must tell you beforehand that there might be misunderstandings.” Even Chi Shaochen couldn’t be sure his perceptions were absolute.

“I understand.” Chi Shaochen knew it would be better for Xiahou Qian to come in person, but… if possible, he didn’t want Xiahou Qian to have to face this.

“Judging by what you’ve said, the person has likely experienced some pain. While other reasons aren’t excluded, being hurt by love is the most likely. But you are certain you are his first lover—that is the first contradiction. Second, he lacks security and confidence, yet his history shows he should be a winner in life—looks, brains, everything. Plus, you love him dearly, so he shouldn’t be like this. Furthermore, you say his daily performance is very brilliant and outstanding—that’s the second contradiction. Additionally…” The doctor analyzed everything in detail, but Chi Shaochen still didn’t have a clear answer.

“And so?” After all that analysis, what was the result?

“I don’t know.” The doctor spread his hands, then explained awkwardly under Chi Shaochen’s glare, “I appreciate your trust, but I’m not a god. Based on what you’ve said, I can only help you analyze this much. You can start from these points, or bring the patient here.”

Chi Shaochen looked at the doctor. Why did he think he was reliable earlier? Disappointed with the result, he paid, gave a brief thanks, and left.

Once in the car, he decided to return to Qianchen Media to find Xiahou Qian.

When he arrived, Xiahou Qian was still in the piano room. It was now lunchtime. Since he was back, he didn’t need to ask someone else to call him. This time, Chi Shaochen simply opened the door and walked behind Xiahou Qian.

Xiahou Qian stopped his fingers on the keys and turned around.

“Why are you here?” He didn’t think Chi Shaochen was that idle.

“To have lunch with you.” He didn’t mention he’d already been there; it wasn’t necessary, though it wouldn’t matter if Xiahou Qian knew.

Xiahou Qian’s lips curled into a smile. He walked to Chi Shaochen’s side, vibrant and happy. “Then let’s go eat.” He grabbed his phone from the piano and naturally took Chi Shaochen’s arm.

“Alright.”

When Wen Xiao found out Xiahou Qian had gone to eat, she was speechless. He’d completely forgotten his assistant!

Well, eating with a boyfriend indeed wasn’t suitable for a third wheel. He’d be back after lunch anyway.

After accompanying Xiahou Qian to the recording hall that morning, she’d waited outside for a long time before Minister Xu came out. He told her Xiahou Qian was practicing and shouldn’t be disturbed. So, she went to find Zhong Han and finished the Weibo certifications.

Qianchen Media’s official Weibo was quietly born that day. Xiahou Qian, Wen Xiao, Zhong Han, Qiao Mu, Zheng Wenxin, and Ye Rui all opened or updated their verification details. While Xiahou Qian, Ye Rui, and the rarely active Zhong Han didn’t draw much attention, Qiao Mu, Zheng Wenxin, and Wen Xiao had decent follower counts, so their new info sparked interest.

As mentioned, Zheng Wenxin was the pampered youngest son of the powerful Zheng family in Meidu. Though he didn’t post much, his follower count was high—he was a genuine “Tall, Rich, and Handsome.” His fans were either those interested in the wealthy or fellow Meidu second-generation heirs who couldn’t quite compete with his background.

Zheng Wenxin’s Weibo hadn’t had clear verification before, but it did now—yet it had nothing to do with the Zheng family.

[Zheng Wenxin V: President of the Official Xiahou Qian Fan Club.]

Xiahou Qian’s own info was simple:

[Xiahou Qian V: Artist under Qianchen Media.]

[Ye Rui V: Assistant to the President of the Official Xiahou Qian Fan Club.]

[Wen Xiao V: Personal Assistant to Qianchen Media Artist Xiahou Qian & Official Fan Club Photographer.]

[Qiao Mu V: Intern Director at Qianchen Media & Elder of the Official Xiahou Qian Fan Club.] (He also removed “Coser” from his handle.)

They all followed each other.

Meanwhile, the fan site the “Elders” had been building for a month went live today. Zheng Wenxin had secured a premium domain: the pinyin for “Male God” (nanshen).

They’d thought of using Xiahou Qian’s pinyin, but it was too long. Initials felt cheap and didn’t suit their Male God. “Qianchen” overlapped with the company. Ultimately, they chose this one—it was their favorite, even if they might face some criticism early on.

After getting verified, Zheng Wenxin remained as cold as ever. He ignored fan comments and didn’t post an explanation. Some second-generation friends planned to ask him in person, though they weren’t sure the aloof Zheng Wenxin would bother answering.

Qiao Mu and Wen Xiao, however, both posted.

[Extreme Dark Horse V: Got the job! I finally managed to hook up with the Male God as I wished. I can watch his daily life anytime now. Don’t be too jealous, haha.]

[Demon Phoenix V: Starting my internship. Although I’m just an intern director and have much to learn, my goal is to one day become the Male God’s exclusive MV director!]

Since the two had mentioned the “Male God” multiple times over the month, their regulars knew who they meant. They knew he’d been a bar singer, but seeing the new verifications and posts, they realized the Male God was finally debuting.

The comment section was a battlefield, but the two had no time to check it.

Currently, Qiao Mu, Wen Xiao, and Zhong Han were in Zhong Han’s office. They were in a voice call with Zheng Wenxin and Ye Rui, discussing the promotion strategy. Planning Manager Wen Qian had joined in as well. Ye Rui spoke little, a total contrast to his chatterbox nature when alone with Zheng Wenxin.

Xiahou Qian’s first promotional plan was finalized like this. Because of their confidence in him, the method was very simple. It might not work for others, but for Xiahou Qian, it was incredibly promising. They desperately hoped for his first single to hit the market as soon as possible!
