LITTLE FOOL CHAPTER 55

Chapter 55: Embarrassed, He Panicked
Hearing his best friend ask about his favorite person, Mu Mu was overjoyed. The smile on his face was even brighter than the sun in the sky, his two big eyes curved into two slender crescents.
“Good! Gui Gui is very, very, very good to Mu Mu! Gui Gui likes Mu Mu the most!”
Zheng An couldn’t stand Mu Mu’s lovestruck look. He scoffed and sarcastically asked, “You say he likes you the most. Did he give you anything?”
“Gui Gui gave Mu Mu beautiful clothes and small shoes, delicious candies and cakes, and a strawberry hair clip.” Mu Mu lowered his head slightly, letting Zheng An see the strawberry hair clip on his head, showing off, “Isn’t it beautiful? Gui Gui picks such beautiful things.”
Zheng An looked at the brightly colored hair clip from the amusement park and frowned, thinking that Yan Gui Xing, the five-star marshal of the Empire, was using such an ordinary trinket to fool Mu Mu?! He really didn’t care about Mu Mu!
He continued to ask, “Only these? No jewelry, airships, houses, antiques, or cars?”
Mu Mu shook his head, looking at Zheng An strangely, and said, “Mu Mu is a man; he doesn’t wear jewelry. As for airships, Gui Gui has them; Mu Mu can use them freely. Houses, we live in Gui Gui’s house; it’s big and beautiful, we don’t need other houses. Antique cars, Mu Mu doesn’t know; I haven’t seen Gui Gui ride in an antique car.”
Zheng An’s heart sank. He relentlessly continued to ask, “Really nothing else? Oh, you little fool, think carefully again. No house, car, or airship, but star coins? He must have given you some star coins to spend, right?”
Mu Mu shook his head halfway, then remembered, “Oh, right, Gui Gui deposited eight million star coins into Mu Mu’s optical brain. He told Mu Mu to buy whatever he liked.”
Eight million star coins? Zheng An scoffed. He won millions in competitions. Even a marshal only gets millions. Clearly, he didn’t like Mu Mu!
“That amount is a drop in the bucket for Marshal Yan. He doesn’t even share his account with you; what kind of liking is that?”
Mu Mu frowned, disagreeing with Zheng An, “Personal accounts are very, very private things. Only the owner knows. Gui Gui not sharing with me is normal. I don’t share with Gui Gui either. An An, don’t talk about Gui Gui like that; I’ll be angry.”
Seeing Mu Mu’s lovesick look, Zheng An felt a chill down his spine.
He didn’t believe a word Mu Mu said. The other party was a five-star marshal of the Empire. How could he possibly like Mu Mu, a physically disabled little fool?!
To put it bluntly, this was a love game played by the powerful and influential. They were teasing a cat or dog as a pastime, but Mu Mu, this little fool, had fallen head over heels.
Zheng An glared at Mu Mu with disappointment, gritting his teeth, barely suppressing the urge to slap Mu Mu.
“Mu Mu, don’t be stupid! That’s Yan Gui Xing, a five-star marshal, the lord of Liuli Star. How could he possibly like a disabled little fool like you? Wake up! He’s just playing with you. Don’t be so foolish as to believe that he likes you and wants to marry you!”
“No.” Mu Mu put on a serious face and sternly refuted, “Gui Gui isn’t playing; we’re seriously dating. He said he likes me and wants to sign a marriage contract with me.”
“Fine, Marshal Yan truly loves you; he loves you very much.” Zheng An pointed at Mu Mu’s ears and sarcastically asked, “Then why doesn’t he treat your ears and legs? The whole of Liuli Star is his; can’t he cure you?”
Mu Mu fell silent, which was rare. He looked down at his knobby, sharp knees protruding from his shorts, and touched his deformed left leg inside his socks.
He maintained that posture for a few seconds, then touched his earlobe, slightly pursing his lips, his gaze calm, his face devoid of any foolishness, his expression serious and cold.
Seeing Mu Mu’s expression, Zheng An thought Mu Mu had taken his words to heart and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
But before he could completely relax, Mu Mu turned his head, looked at him calmly, and said in a calm tone, “I don’t know why Gui Gui doesn’t treat my illness; I don’t mind.”
“If my broken ears and legs could be cured, I would be very happy because I really want to hear Gui Gui’s voice without a hearing aid.”
“Even if I stay like this, I won’t feel any regrets. I feel pretty good now.”
This open-minded attitude almost made Zheng An spit blood.
He glared at Mu Mu, his hands angrily clutching his pants, gnashing his teeth, “Mu Mu, you’re a complete fool! When Marshal Yan abandons you, don’t come running to me to cry!”
Mu Mu puffed up his lips unhappily, “An An, if you keep talking like that, Gui Gui and I are doing well, we won’t break up. If you keep saying that, I’ll really get angry.”
Zheng An fell back in anger, unscrewed the bottle cap, and gulped down a mouthful of water before suppressing half of his anger.
He pointed at Mu Mu’s nose, gritting his teeth, his face contorted, “Fine, you win. I’ve said everything I needed to say, and you still won’t listen! What’s that old saying? Yes! It’s difficult to advise a suicidal ghost! You, Mu Mu, are that suicidal ghost!”
Zheng An was in a fit of anger, his tone twice as loud as usual, showering Mu Mu’s face with his words. Without caring whether Mu Mu had heard him or not, he stood up abruptly after speaking, picked up the remaining half bottle of water, and stormed towards the mushroom house.
Mu Mu’s hearing aid suddenly malfunctioned. Zheng An’s voice was mixed with a series of “buzzing” noises. He didn’t understand anything, only seeing Zheng An stand up and leave.
Mu Mu quickly stood up and shouted at Zheng An’s back, “An An, where are you going?”
Even though Zheng An was angry enough to beat Mu Mu up, after hearing Mu Mu call him, he obediently stopped and turned around, saying unkindly, “Boss, I have to go to work! Skipping work will deduct star coins!”
Hearing about the deduction of star coins, Mu Mu quickly waved his hand at Zheng An, “Then An An, hurry back. Let’s keep in touch.”
Zheng An rolled his eyes, waved at Mu Mu, turned around, and trotted into the crowd.
Mu Mu couldn’t see the colorful figure anymore, so he sat back down on the bench. He opened the bottle cap and sipped his water slowly, the noise around him suddenly becoming quiet.
He was used to the occasional malfunction of his hearing aid and didn’t pay much attention, planning to return to the place where he had separated from Yan Gui Xing after his hearing aid recovered.
The quietness was somewhat boring. After finishing his water, Mu Mu lowered his head and played with the bottle cap.
Just then, the light in front of him suddenly dimmed, followed by a pair of white sneakers, above which were washed-blue jeans.
“Ah, Gui Gui also has a pair of these pants.” Mu Mu thought it was a tourist coming to rest, and muttered softly, without raising his head, and was about to move aside.
But before he could move, his right shoulder suddenly felt heavy. The hand was gripping very tightly, making Mu Mu wince, and he raised his head.
He looked at the person in front of him, his eyes widening in surprise, “Gui Gui!”
It was Yan Gui Xing. He stood in front of Mu Mu against the light, his expression unclear. The green eyes behind his tea-colored lenses were dark and deep, filled with a storm. The shadow cast by his tall figure enveloped Mu Mu.
He was shrouded in a chilling aura, his terrifying presence preventing anyone within a three-meter radius from approaching.
Only Mu Mu, as if unaware of Yan Gui Xing’s bad mood, smiled foolishly at him, opened his arms, and threw himself into Yan Gui Xing’s embrace.
“Gui Gui, you’re done. Mu Mu has water here; do you want some?” Mu Mu leaned back from Yan Gui Xing’s embrace, shaking the bottled water in his hand and asked with a smile.
Yan Gui Xing changed his grip on Mu Mu’s shoulder to a hand resting on it. His other hand hung at his side, motionless. He asked in a cold tone, “Didn’t I tell you to wait for me here? Why did you leave?”
Mu Mu held the bottled water in front of Yan Gui Xing, explaining, “Mu Mu was thirsty, so I went to buy water.”
Yan Gui Xing looked at the bottled water, remembering that Mu Mu hadn’t drunk any water since they left home. He had been exposed to the sun and played wildly; he must have been thirsty.
The ice-like expression cracked for a moment. Yan Gui Xing gave Luo Tang, who was hiding to the side, a sharp glare, took the water bottle from Mu Mu, hugged him, and his tone softened again.
“Why didn’t you send me a message? Do you know how worried I was when I came back and didn’t see you? Next time, you can’t run off without telling me.”
This time, Yan Gui Xing didn’t deliberately use sweet words to coax Mu Mu; he merely softened his wording.
Heaven knew how panicked he had been when he saw the empty cartoon bench.
In a flash, ten possible accidents involving Mu Mu flashed through his mind. Eight involved his competitors, and two involved the Yan family.
Luo Tang and Oliver, assigned to protect Mu Mu, stood before Yan Gui Xing, whose body emanated an aura of rage.
Two men, 188 centimeters tall, weighing over two hundred kilograms, with strong, muscular bodies, and arms as thick as an ordinary person’s thigh, shrank their shoulders, looking like rained-on quails, under Yan Gui Xing’s emotionless gaze.
Mu Mu had been sitting there motionless like a mannequin when a family of ten passed by.
A child had a large bunch of balloons tied to his hand. Oliver, fearing that his cigarette would pop the child’s balloons, stepped back to let the family pass.
Unbelievably, in that blink of an eye, the obediently sitting Mu Mu was gone!
“I’m sorry, Boss, we didn’t watch over the little wife properly. Please punish us.” They didn’t even dare to explain, directly admitting their fault.
“Heh, the punishment you deserve, none of you will escape.” Yan Gui Xing didn’t look at Luo Tang and Oliver but sat down on the cartoon bench.
He elegantly crossed his legs, took out his optical brain, and his long fingers quickly tapped and poked at the screen.
Oliver was nervous, not understanding why the boss wasn’t looking for people but sitting there looking at his optical brain. But he dared not ask, only daring to move closer to Achi, begging his adjutant for a hint.
Achi glanced at Oliver, thinking that he knew the boss had installed a locator on Mu Mu’s optical brain, but he couldn’t say it now. He didn’t want to be implicated either.
Yan Gui Xing watched the constantly flashing red dot on the screen map and curled his lips into a cold smile.
He wanted to see who dared to touch his person on his territory.
When Yan Gui Xing saw Mu Mu sitting quietly on the bench, head bowed, holding a water bottle, his hanging heart fell back into place.
He wasn’t wrong to assume someone had kidnapped Mu Mu while he was away, as he had been involved in the affairs of Marshals Desimo and Wen Yu.
And then there was the Yan family. He was responsible for the fact that the useless legitimate son had become a complete waste.
Judging others by himself, especially someone as suspicious as Yan Gui Xing, was normal.
After eliminating external factors, only the possibility of Mu Mu leaving remained. Yan Gui Xing was immediately angered.
The little thing was so naughty; in a short while, he had run so far.
He even had the thought of breaking Mu Mu’s other leg, locking him at home, and seeing where else he could run.
However, these thoughts vanished completely when he saw Mu Mu’s surprised expression upon seeing him and his eagerness to hug him; only the relief that he was unharmed remained.
“I’m sorry, Gui Gui; Mu Mu forgot to send you a message.” Mu Mu had always lived alone. Even after living with Zheng An, he didn’t have the habit of reporting his whereabouts to anyone.
Although he thought he was a grown man and wouldn’t be in danger, since Yan Gui Xing said so, he still felt it was his fault.
“Next time I go anywhere, I’ll tell Gui Gui immediately.”
Seeing Mu Mu apologize obediently, Yan Gui Xing’s remaining displeasure vanished. He affectionately pinched Mu Mu’s earlobe and said in a familiar tone of threat.
“Mu Mu must remember what you said. Next time you forget, you can forget about going out again.”
Mu Mu didn’t understand what Yan Gui Xing meant, and he nodded foolishly, accepting Yan Gui Xing’s unfair condition.
