Chapter 3: TrainingâNo One Is Allowed to Bully Him
His fist hadn’t even come close to Lu Yin when he felt his wrist tighten. He was flipped over onto the ground, and then a foot stepped directly onto his chest. The force was heavy, causing him unbearable pain.
“Keep your mouth clean. When Chief Zhuang was out conquering territories, you were still drinking milk!”
Lu Yin looked down at him, the fury in his eyes evident. But the Sentinel pinned under his foot was clearly unconvinced.
“Fuck! Let me go! If you have the guts, let’s fight fairly!”
Hearing this, a cold, disdainful smile appeared at the corners of Lu Yinâs mouth. “Fairly? Does someone who gossips behind the Chiefâs back deserve those words?”
Immediately, the pressure from his foot increased. The Sentinel grew desperate and released his spiritual body, wanting to fight to the death. However, he suddenly felt a crushing pressure descend, causing him to cough up a mouthful of fresh blood.
Lu Yin also felt this pressure. He released his foot and looked toward the source. The very subject of their discussion appeared at the door.
Unlike the formal military uniform he wore during Lu Yinâs testing, Zhuang He had likely gone back to change.
His long silver hair was tied into a high ponytail hanging behind his head. His face bore no expression, looking like a white lotus blooming on a snowy mountainâsacred and difficult to approach.
A white shirt draped over him, revealing a hint of his slender neck. His shoulders and chest filled out the fabric, and sleeve garters were worn on his arms, showcasing the powerful strength hidden within. The sense of power was undeniable.
Below his chest, a black harness was buckled, lifting the shape of his full pectoral muscles and making them appear quite substantial.
The hem of the shirt was tucked into the suit trousers below. Perhaps there were leg garters underneath, as the shirt had no messy wrinkles and remained perfectly neat.
However, this also made his perky buttocks even more prominent. He wore black leather shoes as he walked in step by step, hands in his pockets. The bound sections of his upper and lower body trembled slightly; some Sentinels felt their faces turn beet-red just from looking at him.
“Teacher.”
At this moment, Lu Yin knew well enough that Zhuang He was his teacher. He stood obediently to the side and called out, though his eyes secretly lingered on Zhuang He.
Zhuang He ignored him and walked over to the Sentinel lying on the ground. His attitude was so indifferent that the Sentinel seemed to misunderstand.
“Ch-Chief, I was wrong, Chief! I won’t ever speak nonsense againâAAAH!!”
With a grind of Zhuang Heâs toe, the crisp sound of breaking hand bones and a scream of pain echoed through the entire canteen.
“It seems you are dissatisfied with the Academy’s faculty assignments. In that case, you might not be suited for the First Academy.”
He didn’t even lower his head, merely casting his gaze down at the Sentinel who looked like a heap of dead meat. The light-brain on his wrist flashed a few times, and several soldiers rushed into the canteen, hauling the Sentinel out like a pile of sludge.
Then, Zhuang He swept a glance over everyone else in the canteen, looked at Lu Yin once, and turned to leave.
Although he hadn’t said a single word besides that one sentence, everyone understood the Chiefâs meaning.
Lu Yin was his student; no one was allowed to bully him.
But Lu Yin didn’t seem particularly happy. After Zhuang He left, Liang Tong and Hua Huijiang crept back with their trays and sat beside him.
Seeing Lu Yinâs expression, Liang Tong poked him. “Chief Zhuang stood up for you! Youâre living the dream, kid, aren’t you?”
But Lu Yin stabbed at the vegetables in his bowl resentfully, his eyes flashing with a fierce light. “His foot stepped on that trash. Heâs clearly only supposed to step on me!”
Liang Tong and Hua Huijiangâs expressions turned blank. Then, they immediately distanced themselves from Lu Yin. They looked at each other and suddenly felt… it wasn’t entirely incomprehensible.
That was Zhuang He! They wanted to be stepped on by Zhuang He too!
Zhuang He ate his meal quietly on the third floor. Du Yu leaned over and asked, “Went to vent some anger for your little Sentinel?”
He gave Du Yu a cool look. She shrugged and moved a bit away from him.
“The little Sentinelâs talent is okay, right? He is SSS-grade, after all.”
Zhuang Heâs tolerance for Du Yu was higher than for others; he wasn’t quite as icy around her.
“He’s alright. Just a bit reckless. His techniques are all unrefined.”
“Thereâs no helping it. The kid was a wanderer. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have waited until eighteen to be discovered as SSS-grade.”
Du Yu felt a bit of pity. Normally, Empire citizens would spend a bit of money to test their talent early. If they really had no money, they would wait until the First Academyâs free testing at eighteen.
If Lu Yin had been discovered earlier, he could probably be standing on equal footing with Zhuang He by now.
“Have you investigated him?”
“Yes. He was indeed a wanderer. His parents seem to have been wanderers too, and theyâve already passed away.”
Du Yuâs tone held a hint of compassion. It wasn’t hard to imagine the price a wandering child had to pay to grow into someone like Lu Yin.
“Understood.”
Zhuang He finished his meal and rose to leave. Du Yu watched his retreating back, lost in thought. She wondered if she could book a soothing session with Zhuang He this time.
Returning home, Zhuang He closed his eyes to rest while the mechanical massage arms of the sofa worked to relieve him as usual.
From tomorrow, the freshmen’s training would officially begin. Although he didn’t lead classes, he would serve as the judge for the military training. Currently, there was no one in the entire academy with better physical fitness than him.
Thinking about the assessment three months later, Zhuang He wondered to what extent Lu Yin would grow by then.
The freshmen’s military training was cruel and strict. Besides normal fitness tests, they had to face various emergencies, and even extreme weather like torrential rain and blizzards were simulated. The battlefield wouldn’t create a spring-like environment for you.
Zhuang He was the chief examiner. The other freshmen were divided into classes led by instructors, while Lu Yin was pulled directly in front of Zhuang He. He would lead him personally.
What Lu Yin was most proud of was his powerful explosive strength. As long as he bit onto his prey at the start, he could peel them and swallow them whole.
But on the battlefield, explosive strength alone was far from enough.
Lu Yin gazed at the dazzling sun and the classmates training behind him, suddenly feeling a bit lost about his future.
Footsteps approached from behind. Lu Yin turned and bumped into Zhuang Heâs cold eyes.
Zhuang Heâs eyes were orange. Actually, Lu Yin felt they were more like gold, similar to the color of his spiritual bodyâs tail feathers.
Today, Zhuang He was wearing a sleek black combat suit. It was a one-piece with only a zipper at the back, wrapping him tightly from neck to foot. His silver hair was tied high, swaying behind his head with his steps.
Perhaps for the convenience of training, he had fastened combat harnesses around his chest, upper arms, and thighs.
The black harnesses brought Lu Yinâs thoughts back to the canteen. At that time, Zhuang He had also been wearing such straps, looking both sacred and sexy.
With every movement Zhuang He made, the shape of every muscle was visible, including… those two mounds of soft flesh.
He didn’t know if it was because his face had been squeezed by Zhuang He in the combat pod, but his gaze always unconsciously drifted to that spot.
The muscles elsewhere were sexy but very hard. Only there, they were always soft, like two soft meat buns.
Clad in the combat suit, Zhuang He stood before Lu Yin as if he were naked. Although Lu Yin was wearing the same suit, the feeling was vastly different.
Zhuang He also noticed many gazes falling on him, but he was already used to it.
He flexed his wrist and stood before Lu Yin, turning to face the other students and instructors with his usual cold expression.
“Letâs begin.”
The freshmen’s military training officially kicked off.
In the Empire, even though there were many high-tech thermal weapons to deal with enemies, close-quarters combat was a necessity in the worst-case scenario.
Therefore, the First Academy adopted the training methods of Ancient Earthâs military.
The most primitive methods were also the most effective.
The instructors demonstrated first, then corrected the freshmen’s movements.
The instructors’ movements were naturally quick and agile. Their explosive power shocked everyone present; they deeply realized the difference between civilians and the military.
On the other hand, the freshmen’s movements were… somewhat comical.
But despite the embarrassment, not a single person wanted to give up.
Entering the First Academy was the dream of so many. If they could successfully graduate and enter the military, they would be the elite among elites.
Everyone held their breath, wanting to prove themselves. How much of that was because Zhuang He was also watching from the side remained unknown.
After watching the instructors and the freshmen, Zhuang He tapped his light-brain a few times. Several instructors immediately stopped and lined up to salute him.
The freshmen didn’t understand what was happening until they saw Zhuang He walk onto the training field.
The quick-witted ones realized immediately: Chief Zhuang was going to demonstrate personally!
An instructor stepped forward to start the timer. With a command, Zhuang Heâs figure sped off like a bolt of lightning.
Those so-called obstacles were like air beneath his hands and feet. High walls that even instructors took three or four seconds to scale, he merely tapped the ground with his toe, vaulted up in a second, and landed in another.
The remaining items were even more impressive, shattering the perceptions of all the freshmen.
Only now did they truly realize Zhuang Heâs power and terror.
Standing to the side, Lu Yinâs eyes followed Zhuang He closely, like a venomous snake.
The muscles tensed on his raised thighs, the veins bulging on his arms as he climbed the wooden boards, and his visibly heaving chest.
Lu Yin felt a secret rush of pleasure. A Zhuang He like this belonged to no one, but he was Zhuang Heâs student; he could see more of Zhuang Heâs unknown side.
His gaze swept over the stunned freshmen, and his tongue brushed against the roof of his mouth, hiding the gloom in his eyes.
No wonder he needed to wear a tight combat suit; every point of exertion on Zhuang Heâs body was perfectly clear. Some perceptive freshmen immediately understood why they had struggled so much earlier.
He excitedly discussed something with a classmate nearby. As they talked, Zhuang Heâs demonstration ended.
His silver hair had loosened slightly, and a few unruly strands were stuck to his cheek. Zhuang He tucked them behind his ear.
His chest heaved slightly. The demonstration wasn’t taxing, but he had to showcase every point of exertion, so he appeared slightly fatigued.
Yet his slender waist remained straightâupright and proud. This was the confidence of a soldier.
While others talked about Zhuang Heâs grace, only Lu Yinâs gaze fell on Zhuang He himself.
He remembered Zhuang Heâs skin was very fair. Would it turn red from the exertion after this demonstration?
Lu Yin didn’t know.
Zhuang He walked to Lu Yinâs side, his eyes still very calm. He tilted his chin toward the training ground, signaling Lu Yin to do it once.
It had to be said that an SSS-grade Sentinel was indeed different from ordinary ones. Lu Yinâs first attempt was roughly the same speed as the other instructors; he was just unfamiliar with the equipment and had incorrect postures.
Zhuang He stepped forward and stopped Lu Yin. He then walked to his side, grabbed Lu Yinâs arm, and said coldly, “The exertion point is wrong. Press your tigerâs mouth against the board.”
Lu Yin only felt a delicate touch on his palm. His tigerâs mouth felt slightly itchy from being touched by someone else.
“…Yes.”
He was a bit distracted. The familiar scent from Zhuang Heâs body drifted into his nose again. Thinking of the duel that day, Lu Yin almost slipped and fell. Fortunately, his reactions were quick enough, and he forced himself to hold on.
“Focus. What are you thinking about?”
Zhuang He was somewhat dissatisfied. Being distracted during training meant only one path on the battlefield: death.
