Chapter 106: I Am Willing
Wen Ling was suddenly a bit at a loss.
As usual, Wen Ling began to give dense, fine kisses to the teeth marks on Cheng Ge’s shoulder where he had bitten him. His hands, which were encircled by Cheng Ge, also slowly patted the other.
But it didn’t work at all; on the contrary, the situation grew even more intense. Cheng Ge’s shoulders wouldn’t stop trembling as he cried.
Cheng Ge couldn’t bear to see Wen Ling cry, and Wen Ling naturally couldn’t bear to see Cheng Ge cry either. It was an indescribable sadness.
“…I… Cheng Ge… are you in a lot of pain?”
Cheng Ge propped up his body, the tears in his eyes dripping onto Wen Ling’s face. He said “it hurts,” and “it hurts so much.”
“Then… then I won’t bite you anymore. I’ll never bite you again.”
Cheng Ge shook his head, tears dripping onto Wen Ling’s face again. Cheng Ge’s eyes were blurred, and he used the back of his hand to help Wen Ling wipe away those few drops of salty liquid.
Cheng Ge grabbed Wen Ling’s hand and placed it on his chest, his voice husky: “My heart hurts. My heart hurts so much.”
Wen Ling’s brow was deeply furrowed as his hand followed Cheng Ge’s movements to stroke his chest. “What’s wrong with you, Cheng Ge?”
Cheng Ge would never cry and shout that it hurt. How much pain must he be in?
Cheng Ge’s mouth was open as his body tensed, and he took a difficult breath. “My heart aches for you.”
“Don’t think that way. How could I possibly think you were… like that?” Cheng Ge couldn’t bring himself to say those two words to Wen Ling, his voice choking up. “The one who’s wrong isn’t you; it’s others. Don’t think of yourself like that.”
Tears overflowed from the corners of Wen Ling’s eyes again. His mouth pouted—it was a very aggrieved look. After Wen Ling quietly called “Cheng Ge” twice, he asked him pitiably: “Why does your heart ache for me?”
Cheng Ge hugged Wen Ling tight again. “Because I like you. I like you most. If you’re sad, my heart will ache. It hurts so much. If you cry, I’ll also want to cry.”
“Then I… then I won’t cry anymore. Don’t you cry either. I also seem to… seem to feel my heart aching. It’s a bit hard to breathe…”
The corners and edges of Wen Ling’s eyes were very red. He closed his eyes and tried hard to hold back his tears, but unfortunately, he failed. Tears covered his eyelashes, slid across his cheeks, and then onto Cheng Ge’s ears and neck.
Cheng Ge didn’t say anything. He also closed his eyes, kissed Wen Ling’s eyes, kissed away his tears, and then explored, touching Wen Ling’s forehead, the tip of his nose, his cheeks, and his chin.
Cheng Ge was like an abandoned puppy lacking in love, ignorantly exploring the little bit of warmth he could get from Wen Ling’s body. The uneasy person had become him.
But Cheng Ge was also like an owner who had picked up a stray cat—testing carefully step by step, giving the little abandoned cat a lot of reassurance and a lot of love, wanting the sensitive and pitiful stray cat to let down its guard, wanting the little cat to show its soft belly for him to nuzzle, and to hug him tightly.
For a long, long time, after Wen Ling stopped struggling and gradually began to respond and kiss him, Cheng Ge pulled Wen Ling up and lay himself down on the floor.
One arm was around Wen Ling, while the other hand stroked Wen Ling’s back and arms, which had been turned a bit cool by the floor.
Wen Ling’s heart gradually calmed down. This time, that kind of lingering kiss didn’t make him feel agitated or excited; it only brought peace of mind—peace of mind that Cheng Ge would always be with him.
Wen Ling didn’t know when he had been picked up by Cheng Ge and was being held steadily.
Wen Ling stopped kissing. His arms were around Cheng Ge’s neck as he lay there, just looking at Cheng Ge—watching Cheng Ge tidy his messy hair, pat the dust off his body, and straighten out his wrinkled clothes.
Once Cheng Ge had finished reassuring him, he tilted his head to kiss the side of Wen Ling’s ear. After a moment, Wen Ling turned his head to kiss him.
At this moment, Wen Ling felt he was a small boat and Cheng Ge was a slowly flowing river, always steadily supporting them. Even if his small boat capsized, broke, or rotted, it would always be enveloped by the river water, being carried along as it flowed and moved forward.
But Cheng Ge had clearly been kissing him just fine a moment ago; why did he suddenly cough blood when he turned his head and let out a sharp cough?
Wen Ling was so frightened he couldn’t react. Cheng Ge hurriedly held Wen Ling and placed him on the chair. Cheng Ge pressed on Wen Ling’s shoulders. “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. I’m fine. Don’t move yet. Wait for me for a moment. It’ll be quick.”
Cheng Ge took a towel and quickly wiped the blood on the floor clean. He took the blood-stained towel and threw it into the trash can in the toilet, then went to the sink to quickly wash his face and rinse his mouth.
“Cheng Ge, what’s wrong with you?” Wen Ling followed him in, pressing against Cheng Ge’s back, his voice once again carrying a hint of crying. “Why is your blood black?”
“I’m fine, I’m fine.” Cheng Ge wiped his face and hands clean. He half-pushed and half-carried Wen Ling out of the bathroom, his mouth constantly reassuring him: “Normal phenomenon, normal phenomenon. I was too anxious just now. It happens easily when one is too anxious.”
“But your blood was a bit black…”
“It’s like that, it’s like that. It’s like that when the body has many impurities.”
Wen Ling suddenly turned his body around, about to cry again. “You’re lying again. Don’t lie to me.”
“I really didn’t lie to you, baby,” Cheng Ge cupped Wen Ling’s face, rubbing it warm. “I swear I don’t have any major problems.”
Wen Ling’s brow was still furrowed. “What about minor problems?”
“Minor problems… there aren’t even any minor problems.”
“You didn’t swear.” Wen Ling was very serious.
Cheng Ge took a deep breath, feeling quite helpless. “Oh, Xiao Wen, stop troubling me. Doesn’t everyone have a few minor problems? But I’m really fine. Don’t worry, don’t worry.”
“But…”
“Alright, alright, no more ‘buts.'” Cheng Ge pushed Wen Ling to the closet. “If anything happens, I’ll definitely tell you. I’m a puppy if I lie to you. Let’s change clothes and sleep first. I’m really sleepy.”
Every time Cheng Ge said he’d be a puppy if he lied, his words became more persuasive.
But Wen Ling still stood there stiffly with a furrowed brow. Cheng Ge found a set of pajamas in the closet and directly stripped Wen Ling’s clothes off to put them on him.
Wen Ling struggled for a moment. “I’m not wearing these. I want to wear yours.”
“Fine, fine. I’ll put a long-sleeved shirt and long pants on you; the weather is a bit cool.”
Cheng Ge was naturally taller than Wen Ling and had a larger build. He also liked wearing loose clothes, so when they were put on Wen Ling, they had to be folded a bit to fit.
After handling Wen Ling, Cheng Ge pulled out a random set of pajamas from the closet, preparing to change into them.
“Cheng Ge, you wear mine too.” Wen Ling grabbed Cheng Ge’s hand.
“Okay, okay. Wait a moment.” Cheng Ge also took off his own clothes and pants and put on Wen Ling’s. They were a bit short and couldn’t be called a good fit, but they weren’t unsightly either.
Cheng Ge carried Wen Ling to the bed, muttering “sleep, sleep.” He held Wen Ling tight and covered him with the blanket.
But after so many things had happened, neither of them could possibly fall asleep.
Cheng Ge didn’t turn off the light, preparing to sleep with it on. Therefore, none of Wen Ling’s expressions escaped Cheng Ge’s eyes.
Wen Ling’s gaze was constantly lowered. Every now and then, he would look up at him before lowering his head again, his eyes blinking once after a long time.
Cheng Ge heard Wen Ling say in a voice like a mosquito—tiny and muffled—”I’ll never bite Cheng Ge again.”
“It’s not because of you,” Cheng Ge knew Wen Ling was still thinking about him coughing blood, so he smoothed Wen Ling’s hair.
“I’m willing to let you bite me. If you’re in a good mood, I’m willing to play with you. If you want to throw a tantrum, I’ll let you bite me then, too. But you have to bite a bit lighter. If you’re very sad, or if I’ve done something wrong, you can bite me hard. If that can make you less angry or share a bit of your pain, I’m very willing.”
