Chapter 7: Family Banquet; Fully Exposed Under the Moonlight
Zhuang He lay on his bed resting. The students had classes in the afternoon, so he hadn’t arranged any training for Lu Yin. He didn’t have many hobbies; his favorite thing to do was lie on the bed with his eyes closed.
The butler-cat, with its soft, fluffy fur, tiptoed onto the bed and purred against Zhuang He’s cheek. Seen like this, it truly looked like an ordinary kitten.
Zhuang He closed his eyes, stroked the kitten, and turned over to pull it into his arms.
He had only been resting for a short while when his light-brain beeped. Zhuang He opened his eyes and looked; a flash of annoyance crossed his eyes. He tossed the device onto the nightstand and continued to rest.
The kitten seemed to sense its master’s sudden bad mood, rubbing its furry head against Zhuang He’s chin and let out several soft meows.
A hint of a smile appeared in Zhuang He’s eyes. He let out a soft sigh, stood up, and changed his clothes.
The rules of a family banquet were always annoyingly numerous. Zhuang He parked his aircraft on his family’s lawn and stepped out with a long stride.
The smart butler, dressed in a tidy black suit, stood to the side. Zhuang He was also wearing a black suit, though its cut and fabric were much more expensive than the butler’s.
The jacket, which was slightly cinched at the waist, clearly outlined Zhuang He’s form. The well-fitted collar was pushed out to the sides by his build, and his tie was fastened with a pure gold clip engraved with complex, mysterious patterns.
The warm afternoon sun cast a sacred glow over Zhuang He. His beautiful face was cold and indifferent, like a deity who treated all mortals equally.
However, the black suit added a hint of mystery, making him look more like a fallen deity.
As he walked forward, his black leather shoes made no sound on the soft grass.
“Young Master.”
The butler’s voice, which sounded no different from a human’s, rang out respectfully. Zhuang He merely gave a cold “Mhm” and walked straight ahead.
The massive estate was filled with people performing various duties—tending the garden, cleaning the fountain, or sweeping the ground. When they saw Zhuang He approaching, they all stopped their work and bowed to him in unison.
Passing through an ancient-looking wide path, two butlers dressed in identical attire stood at the door and opened it for him.
Inside, the opulence was something even the exterior couldn’t match.
Yet Zhuang He seemed accustomed to it, walking without looking aside to sit at the long dining table. Seated at the head and side of the table were a man and a woman.
The woman wore a luxurious, exquisite gown, and the man was in formal wear.
Since Zhuang He entered, the woman’s expression had been somewhat agitated, yet there seemed to be a hidden trace of fear. She didn’t know where to put her hands. Seeing Zhuang He sit down, she quickly told the maid beside her, “Serve the food quickly.”
After giving the order, her gaze was timid yet held a hint of expectation. She asked gently, “Is there anything Xiao He wants to eat? I’ll have them make it.”
As Zhuang He took off his suit jacket, the butler immediately stepped forward to take it. Hearing the woman’s question, he merely shook his head.
“Your mother is asking you a question! Answer her!”
The man at the head of the table scolded sharply. Zhuang He only looked up and gave him a cold glance before lowering his head to tap on his light-brain, showing no reaction.
However, when the woman heard the man’s tone, she immediately frowned and glared at him. “What kind of attitude is that? If you don’t want to eat with Xiao He, then get out!”
Scolded by the woman, the man shrunk back a bit, but he still looked serious. He gave a cold snort and didn’t speak again.
“Then Xiao He must eat more today; you’ve grown thin.”
The woman’s gaze on Zhuang He was gentle and focused, like a typical loving mother, yet Zhuang He had no reaction to it, as if he were eating with two strangers.
But the woman didn’t seem to have high demands. As long as Zhuang He was willing to come back and sit down to eat with the two of them, she was satisfied.
The meal passed in silence. The woman chatted about trivial matters while eating, her tone somewhat cautious as if she were afraid of upsetting Zhuang He.
Zhuang He replied sporadically. During the meal, one person spoke softly, one replied occasionally, and the last remained completely silent.
After finishing, Zhuang He stood up to leave. The woman stepped forward urgently, wanting to grab him, but her hand shrunk back dejectedly. She put on a placating smile and tried to negotiate, “Won’t you stay home and rest tonight?”
“No, there are things at the Academy tomorrow.”
When Zhuang He reached the door, the butler handed him his jacket. He put it on and was about to leave when he heard the woman’s voice again: “A friend has a Sentinel…”
His brow furrowed imperceptibly. He had no intention of listening to her finish, and he left immediately. The butlers stood behind to bid him farewell. The woman sighed, watching Zhuang He’s back as he departed until he vanished into the sunset.
The woman leaned against the doorway, gazing longingly into the distance. The man hugged her from behind, his tone somewhat resentful. “No matter what, we were the ones who raised him…”
“Zhuang Hongmiao, if you still want your son to call you ‘Dad,’ you should recognize your own mistakes!”
The woman glared at the man, slapped away the hand around her waist, and turned to head upstairs. The man clenched his fists. Looking at the now-vanished figure of Zhuang He and the aircraft, he tapped his light-brain a few times, sent a message, and then turned to go upstairs as well.
It was evening when he returned home. The sky grew dark. Looking at the faint stars outside, Zhuang He felt an inexplicable sense of frustration.
Many things had vanished in the long flow of the galaxy, yet the damage caused to him could not be erased. However, he was still too soft-hearted.
He took out a cigarette box he hadn’t touched in a long time, lit one, and stood at the door in a daze. The butler-cat ran over, and its mechanical voice rang out: “Master, you cannot smoke.”
Zhuang He looked down at the kitten, put out the cigarette, tossed it away, and closed the door, preparing to go buy some things.
His residence was assigned by the Academy. Normally, he should have lived in the same district as the other teachers, but because his abilities were too powerful, he had been granted a plot of land to build his own house.
Although it was a private courtyard, it wasn’t far from the Academy. Zhuang He walked into a shop outside the Academy and lowered his head to pick through the array of candies before him.
“Teacher?”
“Chief?”
A familiar voice rang out from behind. Zhuang He turned to look; Lu Yin and his two roommates were looking his way. After Liang Tong and Hua Huijiang respectfully greeted him, they saw Lu Yin quickly step forward. His gaze fell on Zhuang He’s formal wear, and he asked with a smile, “What is Teacher buying?”
Then, he looked down and was stunned. Are these… candies?
“Teacher likes eating sweets?”
Zhuang He gave him a cold glance and said nothing. He just picked up a lollipop, scanned it with his light-brain, and after the payment was confirmed, he peeled the wrapper and put it in his mouth.
The urge to smoke was suppressed quite a bit by the sweetness. Zhuang He let out a soft sigh of relief.
“Teacher, why aren’t you speaking?”
The Sentinel clung to Zhuang He like a child. Zhuang He felt a bit annoyed and only left a single sentence: “Tomorrow’s training is doubled.” Then, he walked out of the shop.
The Sentinel was left standing dazed on the spot, frantically thinking about how to beg for mercy so tomorrow’s doubled training would be easier, while his gaze remained fixed on the retreating figure.
He looks so good in that suit. The hem draped naturally, partially concealing his perky buttocks. The sharp cut outlined his straight, upright waist, gleaming coldly under the twilight with every step he took.
Beautiful and elegant, yet it couldn’t hide the sense of power within. It was as if two completely different styles had been crushed and reshaped together; every line spoke of low-key yet striking charm.
“Hey! You’re done for.”
Liang Tong walked up and slapped Lu Yin hard on the shoulder, mocking him. “You’ve fallen in love.”
Hua Huijiang also walked up and patted Lu Yin’s other shoulder with a smile. “It’s okay; falling in love with the Chief is only human nature.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.”
Lu Yin rolled his eyes, grabbed several bottles of soda and tossed them into his friends’ arms. He raised his light-brain. “Pick whatever you want to eat; it’s on me!”
“Whoa, where did you get the money, Young Master?!”
Liang Tong and Hua Huijiang put their arms around Lu Yin’s shoulders with grins. They weren’t being polite; they were truly worried Lu Yin was broke. Everyone knew the SSS-grade Sentinel used to be a wanderer who took the Empire’s free test, so he was likely short on cash.
“Don’t worry; I can afford a few sodas.”
Zhuang He leaned against his doorway, eating the sweet lollipop. The butler-cat hopped over to his feet and rubbed against his calf. He looked down at the kitten, and his irritation eased slightly. He bent over to pick it up and went to his room to sleep.
In the middle of the night, Zhuang He was in a deep sleep. It was unclear what he was dreaming about, but his expression was somewhat pained, and his brow was slightly furrowed—a much more vivid look than his cold daytime face.
His red lips were slightly open, and the moonlight revealed his tender little tongue, a small section of which was poking out due to some unknown sensation.
Even his body was twisting on the bed. He curled up with his eyes closed, seemingly enduring a wave of immense pleasure. His entire body felt as if it were being licked by a kitten; inside he felt wet, yet his skin was perfectly dry.
Intermittent, suggestive sounds escaped his lips. Anyone who saw this would surely have their blood racing, yet no one knew of this beautiful scene.
His cheek rubbed against the soft pillow, and he could barely hold his tongue in. Finally, a burst of spiritual power exploded in the room. The butler-cat was startled awake and jumped off the bed, letting out several worried meows, but received no response.
The kitten tilted its head and observed for a good while. After confirming its master’s vital signs were normal, a mechanical voice rang out: “No abnormality detected. Alarm deactivated.”
Then, the mechanical arms outside slowly retracted, and silence returned. The kitten let out a few soft meows and curled back into Zhuang He’s arms.
The artificial moonlight shone through the white gauze curtains. His pajamas, which should have been worn tidily, had been mussed. A cold light was cast over a section of his snowy, thin waist that had been exposed. Not just his waist—his smooth calves were also exposed, his rounded toes curled, and his knees slightly bent, tightening over his full buttocks. He was fully exposed under the moonlight.
The man lying on the bed had no idea what had just happened, remaining deep in his dark dreams while holding the kitten.
