Chapter 61: Because I Have to Feed You Full
When a person is embarrassed, they often tend to keep themselves especially busy.
Chi Youchu’s fingertips picked at the handle of Ye Ran’s wheelchair, his eyes darting back and forth across the surroundings. “I never said I wasn’t going because that person is there…”
Ye Ran knew exactly who the “that person” in Chi Youchu’s mouth was.
The only thing missing was him reciting Pei Si’s ID number.
After such a socially devastating incident, meeting again would be awkward enough to die. Ye Ran understood that perfectly.
“Fine then. You go back to the hotel. Yangzai didn’t go to the beach to practice his doggy-paddle swimming today; he should be in his room right now. You can go play games with him. I’ll go by myself.”
But when Ye Ran actually prepared to go alone, Chi Youchu became worried again.
“I’d better go with you.”
Ye Ran hadn’t expected this guy to change his mind again. “Oh? You’re not afraid of seeing that person anymore?”
Chi Youchu explained with a straight face, “I’m acting as your ‘caregiver’ today. You’ve only been in that wheelchair for a few days. If you operate it incorrectly and roll down some small slope, or if you hop on one leg and fall into a pit, no one on this small island will find you. There wouldn’t even be anyone to fish you out.”

Could he not wish for a bit of good luck?
By the time the two of them reached the lake, Chi Yuheng and the others had already achieved quite a bit of success today.

Pei Si looked irritated. “Yuheng, the method you suggested doesn’t work. I can’t catch a single fish.”
Ye Ran: “…”
So it was just about that. I almost thought they were going to brawl.
Faced with Pei Si’s confrontational questioning, Chi Yuheng didn’t move an inch. His voice remained faint. “Fishing relies on intuition; it has little to do with technique.”
Pei Si processed the sentence. “Are you saying my brain isn’t working?”

Pei Si didn’t like fishing to begin with. Coming here today with Chi Yuheng and the others was originally just to keep the Crown Prince company and maintain his presence.
Xu Zhaoli familiarly set up his fishing rod and looked at Pei Si, who was preparing to walk toward a hammock between the trees. “Is CEO Pei still not participating today?”
Pei Si wanted to say he just wanted to sunbathe, but Chi Yuheng spoke first on his behalf, “He doesn’t know how to fish.”
Pei Si had completely blacked out regarding the events of that night. When he woke up the next morning, he was in his own room. He only knew he had drunk too much; everything after that was a blank.
No one had told him what happened afterward either. He simply thought he had just slept it off.
It was just that Chi Yuheng’s attitude toward him had changed a lot over the past few days. There were no smiles, and the man looked at him as if he were a thief who had stolen his family’s cabbage.
He couldn’t beat Chi Yuheng at fishing, and he lost every game of billiards to him as well. Perhaps it was because Chi Yuheng had been so cold to him lately that Pei Si suddenly wanted to prove himself.
He was very good at fishing.
“Who said I don’t know how? I was just sleepy earlier. I’m not sleepy now. If I go fish, I’ll definitely catch more than you.”
After saying that, Pei Si ran off to his spot. Midway, he came over to check the situation, seeing what method Chi Yuheng was using and what kind of bait he had.
The result was that Chi Yuheng’s fish basket was almost full, while Pei Si hadn’t caught a single one.

Ye Ran looked at Chi Yuheng, then at Pei Si, and finally glanced at Chi Youchu, who hadn’t said a word the entire time and didn’t even dare to look at Pei Si.
He looked up and comforted him with a smile, “Brother Pei Si, fish are hard to catch. Use your brain and try to intuit it again.”
In the end, Pei Si took advantage of Chi Yuheng’s lack of attention and snatched a piece of his bait. He suspected that his failure to catch fish might be related to the bait.
Since Ye Ran was already here, he first went around to see how many fish everyone had caught before finding a good spot for himself.
Chi Yuheng had caught the most. Ye Ran loved eating fish—steamed, braised, sweet and sour—he wouldn’t refuse any of it.
He looked deep into Chi Yuheng’s fish basket. “Whoa, how did you catch so many?”
A hint of a smile finally appeared on Chi Yuheng’s face. He turned back to look at Ye Ran, his eyes reflecting the youth’s shadow. “Because I have to feed you full.”
The words sounded normal enough.
But to Ye Ran’s ears, they felt a bit off.
In any case, he wasn’t going to stay in this spot. Two tigers cannot inhabit the same mountain, and one fish wouldn’t bite two hooks at the same time.
Ye Ran looked to the side. Xu Zhaoli had caught quite a few as well, but there was still a huge gap compared to Chi Yuheng.
Clearly, this wasn’t Ye Ran’s first choice either.
It wasn’t until he reached Ye Tingyun’s side that he realized Pei Si and Ye Tingyun were six of one and half a dozen of the other.
Pei Si’s score was 0. Ye Tingyun’s score was 1.
Although he had a score of one fish, Ye Ran stared at that fish, which was much smaller than imagined. It seemed to be several sizes smaller than the other fish.

Ye Tingyun had always excelled in school and was the outstanding one wherever he went. In the matter of fishing, he had truly been slapped in the face.
