Chapter 115: Shixiong Will Carry You
While Huan Qing was being besieged by the others, Feng Shi led Shen Songhe leisurely toward the location of Songtao Peak.
They had few people, so all of them had come.
Bo Li was leading the aggrieved-looking Qiu Changzhou, and standing next to her was Xu Yan, who was pouting slightly with his arms crossed. When they saw Feng Shi leading the newcomer back, smiles appeared on their faces.
Bo Li liked children to begin with. Qiu Changzhou and Xu Yan were still young as well. Seeing an even younger and more beautiful Shidi, they were all quite curious.
Feng Shi looked down and saw Shen Songhe keeping a stiff little face. Although he didn’t show anything, Feng Shi, who was holding his hand, could feel his emotions through the way his small hand subconsciously tightened.
Squeezing the little white puff’s palm, Feng Shi whispered for him not to be afraid. He then bent down, picked the boy up into his arms, and flew up onto the high platform.
Shen Songhe hid his head in the crook of Feng Shi’s neck. He caught a faint, pleasant fragrance—warm and extremely nice to smell. His little nose twitched as he couldn’t help but take a few secret sniffs.
However, the scent was gone in an instant.
Because once Feng Shi reached Bo Li’s side, he put him down.
Huan Qing, seeing that Feng Shi had brought the person back, didn’t want to endure any more scolding from the other elders. After snapping out of it, he hurriedly pulled his family together to leave.
“Quick, quick, quick! Let’s go home first, otherwise, that shrew Old Fourth is going to chase us down.” Huan Qing raised a hand to wipe his sweat. He took Bo Li’s hand and was about to leave, not forgetting to turn back and instruct Feng Shi: “Xiao Yi, take care of your three Shidi for now. You can just come over to offer tea later.”
Feng Shi replied with a smile:
“Yes, Master.”
Having received a response, Huan Qing immediately pulled his wife and left, vanishing on the spot in the blink of an eye.
Here, Elder Yao Qing—the “Old Fourth” he mentioned—arrived a step late. Seeing that they had run off, she was so angry she flicked her sleeve and gritted her teeth:
“You old Huan Qing! You’d better not let me catch you!”
Feng Shi lowered his head and let out a light chuckle.
Hearing his laughter, the expression on Yao Qing’s face changed. She turned around with a beaming smile:
“Aiya~ Look at our Xiao Yi, still so handsome. Come visit Ningyun Peak more often these next few days. This Martial Aunt misses you!”
Feng Shi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry:
“But didn’t I just go there yesterday…”
Yao Qing wasn’t embarrassed:
“Don’t go to your Second Martial Uncle’s place, lest he corrupts you. Just come to me!”
She raised her hand and patted Feng Shi’s shoulder. Following Feng Shi’s hand, her attention shifted to Shen Songhe. She then showed a look of regret:
“What a pity, what a pity. He was almost my precious disciple. It’s all that old thing Huan Qing’s fault!”
As she spoke, she wanted to reach out and pinch Shen Songhe’s face. Unexpectedly, the Sect Master suddenly summoned her. She could only retract her hand, bid them farewell, and left while grumbling.
Feng Shi: “…”
After Yao Qing left, Feng Shi released Shen Songhe’s hand and pushed him forward slightly. With a serious expression, he instructed the other two little brats:
“From now on, Xiao He is your little Shidi.”
“He is still young. You two, as his Shixiong, must take good care of him. Do not act reckless and wild like you usually do. Do you understand?”
Qiu Changzhou was eight years old this year. He hated Xu Yan, who usually liked to bully him, the most. Thus, he had long wanted a cute little Shidi. Seeing the exquisitely beautiful Shen Songhe, he directly discarded the dissatisfaction in his heart caused by Feng Shi’s words.
“Shidi~” He smiled as he stepped forward, extending his hand to take Shen Songhe’s.
However, the moment he grabbed it, Shen Songhe shook him off with a cold face. The little white puff stepped back with an icy expression, hiding behind Feng Shi.
The smile on Qiu Changzhou’s face instantly cracked. He looked aggrieved but defiant, so he reached out again.
Naturally, the result was the same.
On Shen Songhe’s elegant little face, there was even a hint of undisguised disdain.
Qiu Changzhou tried again, and Shen Songhe dodged again.
Qiu Changzhou couldn’t take it. His eyes grew watery, as if his heart had been wounded. He looked at Feng Shi:
“Big Shixiong, what should I do if little Shidi doesn’t like me?”
Feng Shi made a fist and covered his mouth to stifle a chuckle:
“Ahem. Shidi is simply not used to others holding him. It’s not that he doesn’t like you.”
Qiu Changzhou was simple-minded; he was comforted by Feng Shi’s single sentence and smiled after sniffing his nose.
Xu Yan secretly kicked him:
“Look at that stupid look on your face!”
After speaking, he uncrossed his arms and walked to Feng Shi’s side. Without even glancing at Shen Songhe, he directly reached out and grabbed Feng Shi’s hand, smiling very obediently:
“Shixiong, let’s go back.”
Feng Shi thought that since their Master had left, there was nothing for them to do here. So he nodded.
He then looked down at Shen Songhe.
the other seemed to be in a daze, his eyes fixed on Feng Shi and Xu Yan’s joined hands with a cold little gaze.
Feng Shi felt a sudden wave of guilt. He hurriedly reached out for the boy’s hand, but he was dodged.
Shen Songhe looked up at him, then looked at the smirking Xu Yan, and turned to leave.
Feng Shi let out a sigh. There was no way he could just let the boy walk back on his own. He took a step forward and directly picked the boy up into his arms with one hand.
Little Shen Songhe instinctively wrapped his arms around his neck, a hint of surprise on his face.
Feng Shi smiled and winked at him:
“Let’s go. Shixiong will carry you.”
Though he couldn’t be entirely sure, he thought that perhaps Shen Songhe was jealous.
Simple jealousy from a Shidi toward his Shixiong.
After all, he was the first person to show him kindness; he would inevitably be somewhat different in the boy’s heart.
Perhaps, according to his personality, he had even already categorized Feng Shi as his own property.
Below, Xu Yan had his hand released and let out a dissatisfied huff. It seemed he also didn’t like the new Shidi very much.
Feng Shi couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.
At this time, the Chongshan Sect still had many immortal birds for transportation. Qiu Changzhou and Xu Yan were quite sturdy and often ran wild in the sect, so Feng Shi didn’t worry about them and told them to ride the birds back on their own.
He himself took Shen Songhe and flew back on his sword first.
When they reached Songtao Peak, the luxurious courtyard the sect had built for Feng Shi could be seen from afar.
He didn’t much like living in secluded caves devoid of human presence. The Chongshan Sect wasn’t lacking in spiritual energy, so Huan Qing had built a large courtyard for him.
Right next to it were the smaller courtyards of Xu Yan and Qiu Changzhou.
Feng Shi liked it very much. He tilted his head to address Shen Songhe, who had been quietly holding onto his neck the whole way:
“How about you live with me from now on?”
At such a young age, he probably couldn’t abstain from food yet. How dangerous it would be for him to live alone…
Feng Shi made an excuse for himself.
The previous three disciples had all been raised by Huan Qing, but this was Shen Songhe. How could Feng Shi bear to toss him over there?
Shen Songhe hesitated for a moment and then nodded. Then, thinking he was being stealthy, he gently pressed his forehead against Feng Shi’s ear.
Feng Shi felt his heart itch from the little gesture. Once they landed, he took the boy to the room that had been prepared for him early on—it was right next to his own.
“You will live here from now on. As long as you knock on the wall, Shixiong will hear you.” Feng Shi set him down on the bed and patted his slightly cool, soft hair.
Hearing this, Shen Songhe looked at the wall he mentioned and blinked. Then he lowered his head, his hands gently rubbing the corner of his robe. He was so formal he didn’t know what to say.
Watching his undisguised little gestures, Feng Shi’s heart softened again. He asked softly:
“Are you hungry? Shall Shixiong make something for you to eat?”
Although he himself was at the peak of the Foundation Establishment stage and could abstain from food, he still kept a small kitchen for the occasional treat for himself.
Shen Songhe didn’t look up; he just let out a soft “mm” while tilting his head slightly, looking very delicate.
Feng Shi broke into a smile, stood up, and went out the door.
Behind him, only after Shen Songhe heard the sounds outside vanish completely did he jump lightly off the bed. With a stiff face, he knocked on the wall Feng Shi had pointed out.
