Chapter 91: I Wasn’t Coming, So You Made a Date with Him?
The long bench in the gallery had no backrest. Xiao Yu kept one hand on the back of Shou Jiaxun’s neck to help him maintain his sitting posture while he stepped over the bench to sit at the other end.
He then supported the other man’s head and neck, slowly laying him down so that Shou Jiaxun was lying on his side on the bench, his head resting perfectly on Xiao Yu’s lap.
Shou Jiaxun’s current state was essentially the same as being asleep; he would be easily awakened if the surrounding environment became noisy.
However, noise was prohibited in the gallery, and the tinkling ambient music was very suitable for a light nap. Consequently, after a few minutes, not only did Shou Jiaxun not wake up, but he actually fell into a deeper sleep.
Xiao Yu lowered his head to examine the scent-blocking patch stuck to the back of Shou Jiaxun’s neck: a piece of traditional Chinese medicine-scented adhesive tape printed with a cartoon dolphin pattern.
His eyes narrowed slightly as his fingertips slowly traced the curves of the dolphin’s back and belly. Then, he cautiously picked at a corner of the tape, peeling off the adhesive bit by bit before tucking it into his pocket.
Generally speaking, any part of the body referred to as a “sexual characteristic” would be relatively sensitive, and an Omega’s neck gland was certainly no exception.
That patch of skin, which President Shou kept sealed under a blocking patch year-round, was gently stimulated by the Alpha’s fingertips for several minutes, gradually releasing wisps of a sweet, fragrant scent.
Xiao Yu closed his eyes and took a deep breath, then covered the entire area of skin with his warm palm.
As much as he had been obsessed with this scent in the past, he now loathed this bewitching aroma just as much.
Omega pheromones almost always carried a hint of sweetness, mostly leaning toward floral notes. It was like a plant blooming, releasing a sweet fragrance to attract nectar-seeking insects to help it pollinate.
Some were like cold, noble narcissists, others were like charming daisies; they bloomed faintly, using their bright appearance and reserved fragrance to quietly attract Alphas to pluck them.
Shou Jiaxun’s gland was more “domineering” than those flowers. He was a jar of honey with a slight toasted aroma—pure in fragrance and intense in sweetness.
He was the ultimate dream of all nectar insects and a temptation that no Alpha could refuse.
And honey should not refuse to be tasted, just as Shou Jiaxun should not refuse the pursuit of an outstanding Alpha.
“I could clearly give you everything you want, yet you’ve played me time and time again. You keep a ‘little white face’ on one hand and seduce an old man on the other; how can you be so greedy?”
Xiao Yu’s gaze was full of resentment, yet the palm resting on the back of Shou Jiaxun’s neck was delicate and tender.
An Omega wouldn’t exactly go into “heat” just from a few touches, but the body would certainly produce a slight stress response. However, these sensations were quite subtle and not so easily noticed.
The phone in Shou Jiaxun’s hand buzzed with a vibration. Keeping one hand pressed against his neck, Xiao Yu used his other hand to pinch one end of the mobile phone, sliding it out of its owner’s grasp to answer the call.
Liang Bo’s voice was anxious. “Jiaxun, you finally picked up. Are you still at ‘158’? I’m almost there. Are you in the main building or the outer gallery?”
Xiao Yu lowered his voice and informed him calmly, “It’s not convenient for him to take the phone right now. We are in Gallery 19, the Avant-Garde Wing.”
Liang Bo hung up with a heavy frown, stepping on the gas to rush through the intersection just as the traffic light turned yellow.
By three in the afternoon, the flow of people in the gallery had thinned. Xiao Yu lightly hooked one hand around Shou Jiaxun’s shoulder to protect him from rolling off the bench.
With his other hand, he raised an index finger to his lips, making a shushing gesture toward the fast-approaching Liang Bo.
Aside from the psychological discomfort caused by the visual scene, Liang Bo was mostly confused.
Even if he wracked his brain, he couldn’t figure out how Shou Jiaxun could be sleeping in a public place with his head on Xiao Yu’s lap.
Xiao Yu smiled, waiting until Liang Bo was right in front of him before speaking. “We just did some things in the restroom. He’s tired and needs a rest. Tonight, you’d better not…”
“I’ll f*ck your ancestors!” Liang Bo roared, his eyes nearly splitting with rage as he launched a kick straight at Xiao Yu’s chest.
Xiao Yu tilted his body to avoid the vital spot, raising his arm to parry. In an instant, the two were locked in a scuffle.
However, the Taekwondo expert was clearly not using his true strength today, deliberately dragging out a stalemate with the “shoddy” Wing Chun practitioner.
Shou Jiaxun was jolted awake by Liang Bo’s roar, but before he was fully conscious, the movement of Xiao Yu standing up caused him to fall onto the floor with a thud.
With a face full of bewilderment, he used the bench to scramble up and try to break up the fight. “Hey, hey! Stop fighting! Can’t we just talk this out?”
The three of them were tangled together in a pathetic mess of exertion—one pulling an arm, the other pressing down a shoulder. Shou Jiaxun seemed particularly powerless in front of the two exceptionally tall Alphas.
He didn’t know who he should pry out of whose hands first. He tried both sides, and finally, he could only shout desperately, “If you don’t let go, I’m calling security!”
He didn’t need to call them; the security guards had seen the fight on the monitors and were already running over.
Liang Bo shoved Xiao Yu away. “Just you wait!” After saying that, he pulled Shou Jiaxun by the shoulder and stepped back two paces.
Shou Jiaxun looked up at his official boyfriend, whom he hadn’t seen in days. “You…”
For a moment, his mouth was open, but he didn’t know which question to ask first.
So he turned his head toward his “filial son” from hell, only to realize he didn’t know what to say to that side either.
He took a sharp breath of frustration. “…What’s going on? Did I fall asleep just now?”
“Don’t talk!” Liang Bo suddenly tightened his arm around him, signaling for President Shou to shut up.
By now, two security guards had run over to separate them, repeatedly warning both parties that fighting was not allowed in the gallery.
Xiao Yu also stepped back two paces, answering Shou Jiaxun with a half-smile, “Yes, you were too tired. You just slept for a little while before he arrived.”
Shou Jiaxun gave him a perfunctory nod and turned to press Liang Bo, “What’s the deal with you? Didn’t you say you weren’t coming today?”
Liang Bo’s face was ashen. He lowered his voice and retorted, “I wasn’t coming, so you made a date with him?”
“I—” Shou Jiaxun felt like his knotted brain was choking him.
Liang Bo was clearly speaking out of anger, yet what he said wasn’t wrong at all.
President Shou pondered for a moment and made a serious suggestion, “How about this… since everyone is here, let’s find a place outside to sit down and have an open and honest talk.”
To his surprise, Xiao Yu refused decisively, shaking his head with an expressionless face. “I think we’ve already made things clear enough.
I’m very happy today. Feel free to contact me anytime, but don’t let your mad dog get involved again.”
Shou Jiaxun looked utterly baffled, but by the time he wanted to press Xiao Yu on what they had “made clear,” Xiao Yu had already been escorted out of the small exhibition hall by a security guard.
President Shou sighed and looked up at his little boyfriend, who was currently drowning in a sea of jealousy. “How about… the two of us find a place to chat first?”
Liang Bo couldn’t calm down for the moment, his eyes turning bloodshot from holding back his emotions. He replied in a low voice, “Let’s go home first. We’ll talk at home.”
Shou Jiaxun could only nod.
Thus, he handed his car over to a valet driver and got into Liang Bo’s passenger seat, and the two of them headed back together.
