Chapter 31: It Seems Yuanyuan Hasn’t Had Enough of a Taste Yet
Shen Yuan was so frightened by these words that he immediately stopped struggling. He lay quietly on the man’s shoulder, his eyes misty and blurred.
Looking at Qi Yunzhao, who stood behind them in a formal suit and a stern expression, he suddenly felt a wave of shame.
He could only turn half his head away aggrievedly, revealing pink cheeks stained with a flush. His tone was piteous and resentful:
“Bad Xiansheng…”
His soft chest was pressed tightly against the man’s sturdy shoulder, rising and falling with his breathing.
A tingly, numbing sensation caused Yu Xiuqingās body to stiffen. His gaze darkened, and his Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily.
Taking a deep breath, he cursed the “slut” in his mind, quickly suppressing the mysterious surge of heat in his heart. He slapped the youth’s rounded little bottom hard, his voice slightly husky:
“It seems Yuanyuan hasn’t had enough of a taste yet. Calling me bad… which ‘bad’ way do you want me to treat you with?”
“No… it’s not that…”
Shen Yuan flattened his lips and didn’t dare make another sound, fearing the other would find a thousand more ways to torment him.
His heart was pounding fiercely. Besides tension, it was mostly fear; a sense of pain instinctively surged in his lower body.
Yu Xiuqing turned his head to glance at the small head on his shoulder. His thin lips thinned into a line, and his gaze sank.
A sense of crisis aroseāthe feeling of a little white rabbit he had spent so much effort raising suddenly wanting to escape its golden cage.
He wanted Shen Yuan to remember him vividly, to remember the scent of his body, and to only ever be able to submit beneath him!
Shen Yuan, who was being carried, had no idea of the madness churning in the man’s heart. He only clutched the man’s collar in fear.
Then, he felt his sensitive waist being pinched and kneaded punitively by a large hand. It wasn’t light, but it wasn’t heavy either. His body shivered, and he instinctively let out a soft moan:
“Ah… it hurts…”
This soft, melting moan caused Qi Yunzhao, whose heart was as cold as iron, to pause for a moment. It felt as if a cat’s claw had scratched his chest.
However, he immediately lowered his head and took a step back, not daring to have any improper thoughts.
“It hurts already?”
Yu Xiuqing sneered. His voice was deep and magnetic, sounding somewhat amused with a hint of a hidden suggestion.
Shen Yuan bit his lip aggrievedly, his beautiful eyes turning red, but he didn’t dare talk back.
He had completely become a little lamb waiting for the slaughter, with even his freedom restricted entirely!
Was he never going to get out of this terrifying cage… was he going to grow old and die in this manor?
At the thought of this, the little fool felt even more panicked, tears swirling in his reddened eyes.
With every steady step the man took forward, he felt his chance of escape becoming even slimmer.
At that moment, a cry of surprise and joy rang out from not far away: “Xiuqing-gege! You’re back?!”
Shen Yuan instinctively shrunk his neck. He peered cautiously toward the source of the sound, locking eyes with Su Huaiyao, whose face had transformed from joy to something sinister.
He was so frightened he retracted his gaze, not daring to look anymore.
Yu Xiuqing stopped his pace. He turned to look at the youth who was walking toward him with a limp and a crutch. His expression softened significantly as he nodded:
“Xiaoyao, why did you come out?”
While he was asking, Su Huaiyao had already reached the man. He deliberately bent one leg; the nimbleness he had displayed a moment ago was gone, replaced by a deep frown and a pained expression.
His eyes frequently darted toward the trembling youth on the man’s shoulder. His dark eyes were filled with intense hatred and jealousy, yet he forced himself to act weak:
“Because I couldn’t wait to plant the roses Xiuqing-gege gave me. No matter how much my foot hurts, I had to come out and see.”
Yu Xiuqing reached out and gently wiped the dirt from the youth’s face. Looking at his obedient appearance, he felt a pang of heartache. “Leave this kind of menial work to the servants. You just focus on recovering.”
What he wanted was exactly this kind of personāsomeone who adored him wholeheartedly and would only ever cling to him. Not something like the creature on his shoulder who betrayed him and showed no gratitude!
Su Huaiyaoās fingers on the crutch tightened in rage where no one could see. His fingernails turned white from the force, and one even snapped in half.
Why is that dead bitch lying on Xiuqing-gegeās shoulder?! What kind of methods did he use to seduce him!
He was nearly dying of rage internally, and a look of ferocity flashed through his eyes. However, he returned to his gentle facade in an instant and said:
“Hmm… Xiuqing-gege, what’s going on? Shen Yuan… why is he on your shoulder?”
Shen Yuanās dizzy head was forced downward. Being carried like this was incredibly uncomfortable, and his stomach was in knots.
Not only did he feel like vomiting, but he also had to endure Su Huaiyaoās secret, angry glares. He was already timid; this intimidation made him cling tighter to the man’s neck, his heart full of grievance.
Su Huaiyao grew even angrier. He was clearly hinting for the youth to get off the man, yet the youth was taking an inch after being given a mile!
Yu Xiuqing saw that his beloved’s expression wasn’t quite right. Fearing he would misunderstand his relationship with the fool, he used one hand to directly throw the little bundle on his shoulder to the bodyguard beside him.
The sudden toss made Shen Yuanās vision blur. He instinctively let out a scream, and then he landed firmly against a sturdy chest, his body shaking incessantly.
He wrapped his arms tightly around the person’s neck, pressing his face against their chest, panicking for fear of falling.
A frost-cold voice sounded in his ear:
“You won’t die from a fall.”
Shen Yuanās thumping heart steadied slightly. Still shaken, he looked up and saw the man’s sharp and handsome profile, his heart skipping a beat.
“Let… let me down…”
He pleaded anxiously. Except for Mister Yu, he wasn’t used to lying in someone else’s arms in such an ambiguous posture.
Qi Yunzhao stood with a straight back. There was not a trace of pity in the way he looked at the youth, only coldness. He replied in a mechanical voice: “Sanye gave no such order.”
Nearby, Yu Xiuqing wiped his palms with disgust. He turned to stand before Su Huaiyao, placing his hands gently on the other’s shoulders, a soft light surfacing in his eyes:
“He tried to escape. I caught him.”
Though his voice was calm and without a single ripple, it carried an irresistible authority.
Su Huaiyao knew that the man always hated things that weren’t obedient and would use all sorts of cruel methods to tame them. He instantly became excited, desperately wanting Shen Yuan to be abused.
Naturally, he couldn’t let it show too clearly on his face. He only let out a sigh of regret, adding fuel to the fire:
“Sigh, Xiuqing-gege is so good to Shen Yuan. Not only did he spend a full two billion to save him from bad people, but now he actually tried to escape behind Xiuqing-gegeās back.”
After saying this, Su Huaiyao felt the fire wasn’t big enough. He deliberately glanced at the frightened Shen Yuan and delivered another blow:
“Xiuqing-gege, do you think Shen Yuan met someone he likes? That must be why he betrayed you…”
As expected, Yu Xiuqing was incited by these words. His face turned ashen, the ferocity in his eyes becoming even more apparent. He said coldly:
“What right does a fool like him have to like anyone? Since he dared to escape the manor, Iāll make him regret today’s actions.”
Hearing this, Su Huaiyaoās eyes lit up. He blinked innocently, his heart full of expectation.
Fantastic! That slut who dared to seduce my Xiuqing-gege is going to get what’s coming to him now!
“Yu… Yu Shao!”
The butler ran over gasping for breath, his hands on his knees. He said in fear: “Shen Yuan, he… he…”
When he saw the youth being held by the bodyguard, he finally breathed a meager sigh of relief. However, he still didn’t dare look at the dark-faced man, stammering and unable to speak.
Yu Xiuqing was suppressing a surge of rage that he hadn’t yet vented. The butler had run straight into the line of fire. He interrogated sharply: “Why did you let Shen Yuan get near the gate? How were you watching him?!”
“I… I was planting roses at the time… I didn’t expect Shen Yuan to be so bold as to try and escape!”
Uncle Wuās face turned pale from fright. He could barely speak clearly as he slapped himself repeatedly, pleading for mercy: “Yu Shao, I truly deserve to die. It’s my fault for not watching him well!”
“You indeed deserve to die.”
Yu Xiuqing grabbed his collar with one hand and stared at him coldly, flying into a rage: “You can’t even do a small thing like this correctly. What use do I have for you?!”
Uncle Wu was crying out in his heartāhe was purely being wronged! If Su Huaiyao hadn’t insisted he come plant the roses, he wouldn’t have failed to watch even a fool!
And everything had been fine for two years; Shen Yuan had never thought of escaping. He had relaxed his vigilance and hadn’t set servants to watch him. Besides, he would occasionally take his anger out on Shen Yuanāhow could he let those servants see that? They would definitely go and report it!
Seeing that he had no explanation, Yu Xiuqing lost his patience to waste time on a servant. He roared: “Speak!”
Uncle Wu shook like a leaf, saying in terror: “Yu… Yu Shao, let me explain. At the time, Su Xiansheng was asking me about my experience in planting roses. I was momentarily distracted and failed to notice Shen Yuan. If you don’t believe me, ask Su Xiansheng!”
He didn’t want to point the finger at Su Huaiyao either, but if the other didn’t come out to plead for him, he would truly be wronged to death!
Besides, Su Huaiyao was the person in Yu Xiuqingās heart; surely Yu Shao would be lenient and let him off!
Su Huaiyao clearly noticed the way the butler was pleading with him. He let out an awkward smile: “Xiuqing-gege, itās true that I asked Uncle Wu to teach me how to plant roses, which caused him to miss Shen Yuan. Don’t blame him.”
He felt this butler could be kept. Not only would it be convenient for him to learn about Yu Xiuqingās daily schedule, but he could also watch him torture Shen Yuan when he was bored.
With his beloved explaining, Yu Xiuqingās rage lessened slightly. He forcefully threw the butler aside and warned sharply:
“If this happens again, you don’t need to continue working. You know the consequences best.”
Uncle Wu was knocked onto his bottom by the shove. Hearing this, he immediately crawled to the man’s feet on his knees, bowing repeatedly:
“Yu Shao, please calm your anger! I promise there won’t be a next time! Iāll definitely watch Shen Yuan closely!”
Shen Yuan, behind them, watched this scene and couldn’t help but recall the scenes of being abused by the butler. He began to sob softly.
Qi Yunzhao suddenly heard this intermittent weeping. He lowered his eyes and asked in his usual emotionless tone:
“What are you crying for?”
Shen Yuan sniffled sadly. He grabbed the man’s chest with his small hands and said aggrievedly: “Uncle… Uncle Wu often hits and curses me… that’s why I wanted to escape…”
Qi Yunzhao turned a deaf ear. He didn’t look at the other’s piteous appearance, replying indifferently: “Oh.”
Seeing that he didn’t believe him, the little fool cried even harder.
