Can’t Escape After Online Dating with the Gloomy Yandere chapter 25

Chapter 25: I Want to Call Off the Engagement

Under the illusory, dark lights, Ruan Zhimian gripped his fingers tightly. His lips were pursed, and his eyes were blinking wildly. “How… how are you going to find him?”

“Our school has many majors and many people. Finding one person… it won’t be easy.”

The “little cat” weakly poked out a paw. “What if he isn’t angry, but truly doesn’t want to talk to you anymore?”

The Alpha’s cold eyes seemed to grow even colder. “Are you saying… he wants to break up?”

The cat’s eyelashes fluttered wildly, the corners of his eyes rubbed red by his fingers. The more he spoke, the less he dared to continue, his voice getting smaller and smaller. “I saw a news report… maybe all the information your boyfriend gave was fake.”

“A scammer? I don’t believe it.”

Shi He lowered his head to look at his phone, looking like he didn’t intend to give up.

He looked for a long time before his gaze shifted from the chat with “Ruan Xiao Mian” to Ruan Zhimian’s face. “Someone must know him. I want to ask clearly.”

“Although we haven’t known each other long, I like him very much.”

“As long as I look for him seriously, I’ll eventually find him.”

Wen Song added at the right time, “If you want to find someone, I can help you. Didn’t you say you bought things for him before? We can start by checking the surveillance near the delivery points…”

Inside his hoodie sleeves, Ruan Zhimian’s fingers were trembling more and more violently.

Run, run quickly.

Ruan Zhimian buried his head, took a large gulp of his drink, and echoed in a small voice, looking very hopeful: “Mhm, look for him slowly; you’ll definitely find him.”

Shi He gazed at Ruan Zhimian imperceptibly, every reaction within his sight. “Yes, I will find him.”

Ruan Zhimian didn’t dare say more for fear of exposing himself.

Wuwuwu, it’s too hard.

Shi He’s long, cold, white fingers reached over, pressing against the webbing of Ruan Zhimian’s hand to take the glass from him. “Zhimian, you took the wrong one.”

Ruan Zhimian looked at the glass on the table, his dark eyes misting over. He murmured softly, “I took the wrong one.”

He had drunk Teng Yu’s alcohol. Teng Yu had ordered too much, and several glasses were sitting there untouched. His small head dropped; he was already prone to dizziness, and now that the alcohol was hitting him, he said with self-awareness, “Shi He, I’m going to be drunk.”

“Let’s talk next time. I’m going home now.”

“I’ll send you.”

Ruan Zhimian stood up while leaning on the table, saying very seriously, “You’ve been drinking; you can’t drive.”

He still remembered what happened just now and randomly picked up a small card, calling out, “Who is Qin Guan? Can you drive?”

In the corner, a young man in his twenties walked over, looking cold and stern.

“I can, Young Master Ruan.”

Ruan Zhimian took out his wallet, pulled out a stack of cash, and handed it to the other party. “You drive them back.”

He was quite good at taking care of people.

Wen Song stood up. “Let’s go, you send me.”

“Shi He, A-Yu and I are waiting for the driver to pick us up. He’s drunk; I’m taking him back to my house.”

“My brother is coming back today, and tomorrow he’s taking me to the hospital for a follow-up.”

The drunk little young master spoke in a very formal manner, like an exquisite and beautiful BJD doll. He looked up at him. “Don’t worry about me; I’m fine. I’m just physically weak and need to regulate my health.”

“Are you drunk?”

“Mhm.”

Shi He reached out and rubbed the soft small head. “If you tell me to leave, I’ll leave.”

However, there was only this one chance today.

Shi He went downstairs and left. He didn’t take the elevator, walking down the stairs under Ruan Zhimian’s gaze. When he reached the stair landing on the first floor, Ruan Zhimian was still leaning over the railing watching him, his small hand lifted to wave a “paw.”

Shi He left.

Ruan Zhimian waited for twenty minutes before the Ruan family driver arrived.

He helped Teng Yu into the car and leaned against the glass window without a word, pulling open the window to face the wind.

The driver looked back. “Young Master, the kitchen has brewed sobriety soup; you can drink it once we’re back.”

“If you’re feeling unwell, tell me. I’ll stop the car or take you to the hospital.”

Ruan Zhimian shook his head. “I’m not. Let’s go home.”

He rubbed Qiuqiu, who finally had a chance to appear. He closed his eyes, and Qiuqiu rubbed against him without making a sound, clearly sensing Ruan Zhimian was uncomfortable.

Half an hour later, the car arrived at the Ruan residence.

It was dinner time. The butler had people help Teng Yu upstairs to rest and asked Ruan Zhimian warmly, “Young Master, the Master has returned home and is currently dining with his students. Would you like to join?”

Ruan Zhimian was dizzy but could hold on for a bit. “I’ll change my clothes.”

Ruan Zhimian’s father, Chen Ji, was an Alpha, a law professor, and a partner at a famous law firm.

He had to meet him anyway; he had business with Chen Ji.

Ruan Zhimian first drank a bowl of sobriety soup, lay upstairs for ten minutes, and changed into loungewear before coming down. Just as he reached the dining room door, he saw his father’s student, Jian Wenbu.

Last time they met was when Jian Wenbu sent him a birthday gift.

“Father, Senior.”

Chen Ji turned back in surprise. “Mianmian, sit quickly.”

Chen Ji was busy year-round. Although he returned home more often than his wife, Ruan Jiarong, he didn’t receive much of a good attitude. In this household, the family of three seemed to live their own separate lives. “The butler told me just now that you went out to play with Xiao Yu. Are you feeling any discomfort?”

“No.”

Chen Ji adjusted his glasses, looking closely at Ruan Zhimian, still feeling he was thin. “Xubai told me his mother found a new prescription. Is the medicine you’re drinking effective?”

Ruan Zhimian pulled out a chair. “It is. Brother is taking me for a follow-up tomorrow.”

“That’s good. I brought back some trinkets from this business trip; I’ll have someone bring them to you in a bit.”

The butler brought over a bowl of noodle soup, suitable for eating after drinking.

Ruan Zhimian picked up his chopsticks. He listened to Chen Ji talking to him and to Chen Ji and Jian Wenbu discussing a thesis, eating slowly to conserve energy.

He didn’t speak until he finished eating: “Father, I have something to discuss with you.”

Chen Ji and Ruan Zhimian went to Chen Ji’s study together. There were many rows of bookshelves, making it look like a small library.

They sat on the sofa in the study. Chen Ji reached out to touch Ruan Zhimian’s forehead, surprised his son would look for him.

Fortunately, no fever.

“Mianmian, what is it?”

“Father, I want to call off my engagement with Han He’an recently. Will this affect our family’s business?”

When he first arrived, Qiuqiu had already summarized for him the plots that could be avoided and the ones that had to happen.

For example, he had to date Shi He online and then break up with him, causing Shi He to lock away his heart for many years.

What could be bypassed was his engagement with Han He’an.

The system rewarded him with a new life; he didn’t have to marry Han He’an, and he didn’t have to end his life in two years.

Han He’an’s treatment of Shi He wouldn’t happen only once.

Even if he had deceived Shi He, Shi He was still a very good person in his eyes. He wanted to protect Shi He.

“Did he do something to let you down?”

“Father, don’t get agitated.”

Ruan Zhimian’s small face was pale, his beautiful watery eyes showing unease as he revealed his pinched red arm. “A few days ago, I found him with another Omega at my birthday banquet. These past two days, he’s been apologizing to me because of our families’ cooperation. Today he even wanted to… hit me…”

“Father, can you help me find out who Han He’an stays with in private?”

“I want to take back… everything I’ve given…”

Tears fell pitter-patter, looking heartbreaking.

Chen Ji took out a handkerchief and gently wiped them, saying through gritted teeth, “Rest assured, Mianmian. Father will have people investigate. I’ll make sure he and the Han family come to beg you on their knees.”

To think they dared treat their Mianmian like this—what gall!

“Father, don’t tell Mother yet; I don’t want her to worry. I want to announce this at the Han family banquet next week.”

Chen Ji agreed decisively. “Rest assured, Mianmian.”

Ruan Zhimian stood up with misty eyes. “Father, I’m dizzy, so I’ll go rest first. Don’t work too late; sleep early.”

Chen Ji picked up the phone, waved to his “good baby,” and looked for someone to investigate.

Outside the door, the refined and elegant Alpha stood waiting. He reached out to support Ruan Zhimian’s arm. “Zhimian, the carpet was just laid; walk a bit slower.”
