I Became a Heartthrob After Transmigrating into an ABO World chapter 214

Chapter 214

Shen Shuyu’s star-liner ticket was for early in the morning. Wen Jiafei saw him off at the station, their hands still tightly joined, showing a clear reluctance to part.

Shen Shuyu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Alright, it’s not like we’ll never see each other again. Come back quickly once you’re done with your work.”

Wen Jiafei gave an “Mn.” “Okay.”

“Remember to eat your three meals on time and sleep well.” Shen Shuyu pinched his cheek. “Be happy.”

Wen Jiafei pulled Shen Shuyu’s hand, drawing him closer, then opened his arms and hugged him.

He buried his face in Shen Shuyu’s shoulder, greedily inhaling the scent that belonged only to him.

Shen Shuyu gave his back a reassuring pat. “Alright now. You’re being so clingy it doesn’t even look like you anymore.”

Wen Jiafei murmured softly, “I can’t control it.”

Today was the fourth day of his rut. Although the emotions and hormones brought on by the rut had significantly receded, and logically he should be watching Shen Shuyu leave with his usual reserved calmness, he simply couldn’t quite manage it.

They had only just confirmed their relationship a few days ago, and now they had to deal with a long-distance relationship—no couple could stand that, right?

Wen Jiafei let go of Shen Shuyu and looked at his face, saying indirectly, “I feel like you aren’t that reluctant to leave.”

No matter how well he hid it, Shen Shuyu still heard the sourness in his tone and saw the accusation in his eyes.

He said, “Because I know this is only a temporary separation. You have your business to attend to, and I have mine.”

Neither of them was actually “love-brained”; they both knew very clearly what they needed to do.

Wen Jiafei nodded. He pulled Shen Shuyu into another tight hug. “Wait for me to come back.”

Shen Shuyu held him back just as tightly. “Be careful yourself. We can video call at night.”

He couldn’t help Wen Jiafei with the Ning family’s affairs; he could only cheer him on.

The loudspeakers in the hall began to remind passengers to board. Shen Shuyu let go of Wen Jiafei and grabbed his suitcase. “I’m leaving. You should head back early too.”

Wen Jiafei watched him quietly. Shen Shuyu took a deep breath, lowered his head, and started walking toward the boarding gate with his suitcase. However, after only two steps, he turned back.

Wen Jiafei asked, “Did you forget something?”

Shen Shuyu stood before him. “I did forget one thing.”

“What?” Wen Jiafei’s mind went blank as he started mentally cataloging every corner of the hotel to see what Shen Shuyu might have left behind.

In the next second, he felt his neck being pulled down. He snapped back to reality only to see Shen Shuyu quickly plant a kiss on the corner of his mouth.

Amidst the bustling crowd, he was bold and passionate.

Before Wen Jiafei’s brain could even process it, his instincts drove him to chase after Shen Shuyu’s lips, but Shen Shuyu took a step back. He said, “Alright, now everything’s complete. I’m off.”

He backed away while pulling his suitcase, raising a hand to wave. “Bye. See you soon.”

Wen Jiafei was no stranger to the pain of parting, but this was truly the most reassuring farewell he had ever experienced—because he knew Shen Shuyu would be waiting for him.

Wen Jiafei watched Shen Shuyu board the liner. Only after the star-liner had departed did he slowly withdraw his gaze, turn around, and walk back.

He returned to the hotel. He had a meeting at ten o’clock, and since it was only eight, he still had some free time.

Upon entering the hotel room, Wen Jiafei immediately regretted coming back. Shen Shuyu was gone, yet his scent and his presence still lingered everywhere in the room.

Wen Jiafei pursed his lips. With practiced ease, he took out an inhibitor and gave himself an injection. After sitting on the sofa for a while to let it settle, he stood back up and went into the bedroom.

The wardrobe door was open. Wen Jiafei walked over. Yesterday, the wardrobe had been full, their clothes intermingled. Today, only his own garments remained.

Just as Wen Jiafei was about to close the wardrobe, he spotted a coat hanging in the innermost corner that didn’t belong to him. He pulled it out; it was Shen Shuyu’s.

Wen Jiafei’s first thought was that Shuyu had missed it while packing. He took out his terminal, intending to send a message, but his peripheral vision caught a sticky note attached to the sleeve.

He peeled off the note. On it was a sentence written in Shen Shuyu’s flourishing handwriting.

[I noticed you liked this coat quite a bit, so I left it for you.]

Wen Jiafei’s ears instantly turned hot. A few days ago, when he hadn’t been able to see Shen Shuyu, he had loved holding this coat because it carried the lingering scent of Shen Shuyu’s pheromones.

He had thought he’d hidden it well, but it turned out Shen Shuyu had noticed after all.

Wen Jiafei looked down at the coat in his hands and slowly pulled it into a hug.

They had been apart for less than an hour, yet he was already missing Shen Shuyu.

When Shen Shuyu arrived back in Amor, it was still snowing. He rubbed his fingers together and followed Feng Xing’s directions to the underground parking garage, where he quickly found Feng Xing’s car.

Feng Xing sat in the driver’s seat and arched an eyebrow at him. “Get in. Your Brother Feng is about to take flight.”

Shen Shuyu asked, “Do you even have a license?”

Feng Xing was speechless. “You’re doubting your Brother Feng? I have it, and my driving skills are excellent.”

Shen Shuyu remained skeptical. Feng Xing urged, “Are you getting in or not?”

Shen Shuyu said, “Open the trunk. I need to put my luggage in.”

Feng Xing glanced at the suitcase by his feet and was about to get out to help, but he saw Shen Shuyu briskly wheel the case to the back and lift it in with ease.

After getting into the car, Shen Shuyu buckled his seatbelt tightly. Feng Xing asked, “Are you really that scared?”

Shen Shuyu replied, “Unsafe driving leads to family tears. Drive a bit slower later.”

Feng Xing huffed. “I came to pick you up in this freezing weather, and instead of a thank you, all I get is sarcasm.”

Despite his words, he started the engine and drove out of the star-liner station.

Shen Shuyu gazed out the window. The snow in Amor was falling heavily; staring at it for too long made his eyes feel a bit strained.

“How long is this snow going to last?”

Feng Xing let out a hum. “Cherish it. This should be the last big snowstorm. After this, it’ll just be scattered light snow. Once the New Year starts, the weather will clear up.”

Shen Shuyu blurted out, “Yeah, after spring starts, the two of us used to love running to the water to catch fish. We always ended up with colds, but you were the one who got scolded.”

Feng Xing fell silent for a moment. “So you still remember? We can go play again once spring arrives. That place we used to go has been developed; it’s a fish pond now.”

Shen Shuyu looked at Feng Xing and smiled. “Sure.”

Feng Xing couldn’t help but curl his lips into a smile as well. He said, “The last time we went to catch fish was five years ago, right? I went back once with my family two years ago. It isn’t as pretty as it was when we were kids, but it’s alright. No more catching fish though; we go fishing instead.”

Shen Shuyu responded to Feng Xing, but his mind had become somewhat chaotic. That sentence just now had come out completely without a second thought.

But what was strange was that he couldn’t find any memory of himself and Feng Xing going to catch fish within the original host’s memories.

Shen Shuyu felt a slight ache in his head. Feng Xing noticed and asked, “What’s wrong? Why did your face suddenly turn pale?”

Shen Shuyu felt his temples throbbing. He said, “It’s nothing. I probably just got up too early and didn’t rest well.”

Feng Xing let out a “tsk.” “Just close your eyes for a bit. What are you afraid of? I’m not even scared.”

Shen Shuyu said, “Fine. Then drive a bit slower.”

He felt as though his brain was in a state of confusion, like a bottle of soda that had been shaken until it was under high pressure; the cap had loosened slightly, and the contents were desperate to spray out, yet were being held down firmly by the lid.

Shen Shuyu closed his eyes and tried to calm his mind, attempting to straighten out his thoughts, but it was in vain. Some clues had flashed through his mind, but he couldn’t grasp them.

Seeing Shen Shuyu’s furrowed brows, Feng Xing silently turned up the heater in the car and began to drive even more steadily.

Feng Xing didn’t drop Shen Shuyu off at his door. Instead, he let him out at a corner about two hundred meters from the villa before turning around to head back.

After all, in their parents’ eyes, he and Shen Shuyu had been playing on Planet Siro together; there was no way he could be driving.

Shen Shuyu watched Feng Xing leave, then pulled his suitcase back toward the villa. It was truly freezing outside; only when he stepped into the well-heated house did he feel like he had come back to life.

A house servant took his suitcase. Shen Shuyu asked, “Where are my parents and my brother?”

The servant replied, “The company is having its annual gala dinner today. Madame and the masters have all gone to the company with Mr. Yisi.”

Shen Shuyu nodded. He was heading upstairs to change into some loungewear when he spotted a bouquet of flowers sitting on the coffee table.

Shen Shuyu asked, “Who are these flowers for?”

The servant hurriedly said, “They were delivered for you. I forgot to tell you just now; I’m so sorry.”

For him?

Confused, Shen Shuyu walked over. Tucked into the middle of the bouquet was a card. He reached out and flipped it open. On it was written: [It’s cold, stay warm.]

The signature was just a single letter: C.

Shen Shuyu stared at that letter ‘C’. He turned back and asked, “Do you know who sent these?”

The servant said, “The person who delivered them didn’t say.”

Shen Shuyu set the card down. “Unwrap them and find a vase to put them in.”

Although he didn’t know who sent them, it would be a pity to let such beautiful flowers go to waste.
