Zerg: Gloomy Major General, Stop Acting Obedient, My Head Hurts! Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Fei Walker

“Xiongzhu, please enjoy me.”

“Hmm?” Jiang Xu rubbed the bridge of his nose, responding subconsciously.

In the dimly lit room, a silver-haired man knelt before him, completely naked without a single stitch of clothing. His back was ramrod straight, and his head was bowed low. Jiang Xu couldn’t quite grasp the situation for a moment.

Jiang Xu lowered his hand and leaned back against the headboard, finding a comfortable position while he sized up the person right in front of him.

The man had a fantastic physique—taut pectoral muscles, a flat stomach with the faint outline of an eight-pack, and a build like a leopard’s that hinted at immeasurable power. Yet, such a perfect body was currently covered in a mixture of old and new wounds.

Beads of sweat rolled down his pale skin, trailing over dense whip marks and carrying a hint of dark red as they disappeared into the depths of his lower abdomen.

Jiang Xu hadn’t heard the man clearly. His face darkened; the current situation repulsed him, and his voice was laced with an obvious chill. “Who are you? Who sent you here?”

The man kept his head lowered and repeated the same words: “Xiongzhu, please enjoy me.”

A flash of disgust in the man’s eyes was hidden beneath his hair, vanishing without a trace.

Jiang Xu lowered his head slightly, peering down at the kneeling figure. He remained silent, suspecting the man in front of him was feigning ignorance or playing a part.

Silence returned to the room. Shallow breaths hung heavy in the air, making the atmosphere feel exceptionally oppressive.

Just moments ago, he had been at his company handling business as usual. In the blink of an eye, he had appeared here.

If this was someone playing a prank on him, it was utterly impossible. Such a bizarre occurrence was beyond human power. But if it wasn’t the work of a human, then what was going on?

He wanted a clear answer.

Looking at the silent man before him, his patience ran out. He raised his foot and kicked the man. “Stop playing dumb. Tell me, what kind of place is this?”

Because of that kick, the man fell abruptly onto the floor. Jiang Xu was stunned; he knew exactly how much force he had used.

Seeing the man crawl back up and resume his kneeling position, Jiang Xu didn’t know whether to praise the man’s professionalism or not.

“Xiongzhu.”

The dark red on the man’s body grew more prominent. Jiang Xu frowned deeply at the sight of the wounds. Before he could react, the man continued, “This is your residence.”

“My residence?” Jiang Xu was shocked. When did he ever own a place like this?

“Yes.” A flicker of resentment flashed through the man’s eyes.

Jiang Xu’s frown deepened. He wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but he sensed a faint, fleeting trace of killing intent coming from the man before him.

“How did I get here?”

“?”

“Answer me.”

“You walked back yourself,” the man replied.

Jiang Xu was so angry he laughed. He walked back himself?

How was that possible!

He sat on the edge of the bed, his left elbow resting on his leg. Leaning forward slowly, he reached out his free right hand to lift the man’s chin, forcing him to look him in the eye. Only then was the man’s face fully revealed.

His skin was a cold, deathly white, devoid of any warmth.

If it weren’t for the warm breath hitting Jiang Xu’s palm, he would have suspected the man was dead. However, the man clearly hadn’t expected such a sudden move; the coldness in his eyes hadn’t been retracted in time and was caught red-handed.

Jiang Xu found it somewhat amusing, as if he were the one forcing the man to do this.

He lazily withdrew his hand and leaned back against the headboard again, his expression neutral. “If you answer properly, I’ll let today’s matter slide. But…”

He bit out the last word with cold emphasis.

Fei had originally thought he wouldn’t escape a brutal beating, but he hadn’t expected the other party to let it go so easily. It was as if his offensive gaze from earlier hadn’t even been noticed.

Yet, his eyes were full of suspicion. He wasn’t sure what kind of answer the man wanted, or if he was just looking for an excuse to punish him later.

They had been married for half a month, but today was the first time he had actually met his so-called Xiongzhu.

The warm yellow wall lamp flickered twice. Long, dark shadows stretched across the room, and tools were scattered all over the floor. He glanced at the nearest leather whip.

One could still see dots of dark red on it—his dark red.

A bitter, desolate emotion filled his entire body. He had worked so hard for so long; why had he still failed to escape this fate?

Recalling the question asked, he slowly replied, “This afternoon, you returned home and ordered me to… clean myself, then you went directly to the second floor.”

After he finished, the other man remained silent for a long time.

Was he still dissatisfied with this answer?

What an irritable and cruel Xiongchong. Fei lowered his head to hide the emotions in his eyes.

He had been so close. Just a little bit more. If he had finished that last battle, he could have escaped the fate of being slaughtered at will by a Xiongchong.

The roster for the Western Battlefield had already been dispatched, and his name was on it, but…

This sudden marriage had shattered everything.

So close. Truly, just a hair’s breadth away.

The hatred and pain in Fei’s eyes reached a peak at that moment.

From the corner of his eye, he looked at the crossed legs of the man sitting on the bed. A flash of ruthless determination flickered in his bloodshot eyes, only to be quietly suppressed.

No, he couldn’t be impulsive.

He couldn’t ruin his own life for the sake of a single Xiongchong. It wasn’t worth it!

In Zerg society, the male-to-female ratio was severely imbalanced, reaching a staggering 1:70. One could say that there were so many Cichong that wiping out half of them wouldn’t even impact society.

This fact established the social status of Xiongchong and, likewise, foreshadowed the future of Cichong.

He had fought desperately on the battlefield, racking up military merits in hopes of escaping the predetermined fate of a Cichong. This was the only bit of mercy the Zerg race showed to those Junci who fought bravely for their country: as long as they climbed to the rank of Major General or above, they would gain a single right of choice.

The right to choose whether or not to spend the rest of their lives with a Xiongchong.

Jiang Xu didn’t get the answer he wanted from Fei, but he sensitively caught a specific term—Xiongzhu.

It was a title he had never heard before. He hadn’t heard it clearly the first time, but after it appeared several times, the answer began to reveal itself.

He got up from the bed. His movements were noticeably stiff. He walked slowly for a few steps, the click of his leather shoes on the solid wood floor echoing in the room.

He glanced at the man on the floor. “What is your name?”

Right now, he only wanted to figure out the situation; he had no hobby for abuse.

“Fei Walker.” Fei hid the shock in his eyes. As expected, Cichong were nothing in the eyes of these Xiongchong, let alone a Junci like him.

Rumors had long since spread that Young Master Jiang of the mysterious Jiang family looked down on Cichong, and even more so on Junci. His only connection to Cichong was his hobby of collecting their wings—they were his capital for showing off.

But if that were the case, why would the man marry him?

Of course, Jiang Xu couldn’t give him that answer.

Jiang Xu glanced at the wounds on his body. “Fei Walker, clean yourself up before you come to see me again.”

It was common knowledge that he liked men.

But he didn’t just take any man, and he certainly had no fetish for looking at someone naked and bloodied.

Fei suddenly looked up at Jiang Xu. This man was letting him go just like that?

He quickly realized such an action was considered an offense to a Xiongchong. He hurriedly lowered his head and withdrew his gaze, bowing with both hands and pressing his entire upper body to the floor. “Yes, Xiongzhu.”

He slowly backed away on his knees. Only when he reached the door did he stand up, open it, and retreat.

Translator’s Note: Welcome to the first chapter! I’m so excited to start this journey with you all. A few things to clarify for the newcomers to the Zerg genre:

  • Xiongzhu (雄主): Literally “Male Lord/Master.” This is the formal, respectful way a Cichong addresses their husband.
  • Xiongchong (雄蟲): Male Zerg. In this world, they are rare, pampered, and often quite spoiled or cruel.
  • Cichong (雌蟲): Female Zerg. They are the workers and soldiers, physically powerful but socially subordinate.
  • Junci (軍雌): Military Female Zerg. They are the elite soldiers of the Zerg race.
