Chapter 111: Cultivation Exposed
Qianyuan Continent was the name of the minor world where Lou Yunxiao originated.
Hearing Jun Mo mention it now, Lou Yunxiao’s spirits lifted instantly. He hurriedly confirmed that he did indeed come from the Qianyuan Continent and asked Jun Mo, “Senior Jun, are you also from the Qianyuan Continent?”
“I am of the Snow Dragon Clan,” Jun Mo said. “Ten thousand years ago, I lived on the Qianyuan Continent as well.”
“The Snow Dragon Clan…” Lou Yunxiao was shocked.
He had heard rumors of the Snow Dragon Clan from ten thousand years ago.
The Snow Dragon Clan was a race of Divine Descent.
To put it plainly, they were deities dispatched from the God Realm to manage their minor plane.
If the Tiandao governed the continent’s fortune, natural laws, and the principles of heaven and earth, then these Divine Descent races were the hidden managers who oversaw the various mortal races.
When a race appeared that threatened to disrupt the natural order, they would no longer remain in seclusion. They would emerge to eliminate that race and restore peace to the minor world.
Logically, ten thousand years ago, after the first Demon was born, the Snow Dragon Clan should have stepped forward to annihilate the Demon Race.
However, the Snow Dragon Clan had vanished without a trace, and no one could find them despite extensive searching.
Lou Yunxiao never expected to encounter a member of the Snow Dragon Clan here.
Ning Ke’s brows furrowed.
Whatever Lou Yunxiao had realized, he had realized as well.
This was precisely why he had been willing to follow Jun Mo here. It was the question he most wanted to clarify with the man.
Thus, he asked, “Senior Jun, what exactly happened to the Snow Dragon Clan ten thousand years ago? Could you tell us?”
He thought that if the Snow Dragon Clan had been there to assist back then, the Human and Yao Races would never have been suppressed so ruthlessly by the Demons.
“Ten thousand years ago, the Snow Dragon Clan…” Jun Mo’s brow furrowed in deep thought. Suddenly, his dark-gold vertical pupils constricted sharply, as if he had remembered something utterly terrifying.
A tremor started from his fingertips and spread through his entire body. A violent, tyrannical aura erupted from him.
His killing intent surged like a physical tide.
Outside, the sky changed color as a blizzard suddenly howled, making the doors rattle violently.
Qing Ru quickly grabbed his hand and forced a medicinal pill into Jun Mo’s mouth.
Jun Mo lost consciousness and collapsed into his arms.
Ning Ke and Lou Yunxiao were startled by this sudden outburst.
Niao Niao ran to Jun Mo’s side, looking at the man with heartache.
“Little Father, it seems Big Father’s memories of that time are still causing him so much resistance. I wonder when he’ll truly be able to walk away from it.”
“As long as we don’t mention it, he won’t be hurt.” Qing Ru supported Jun Mo and shot a cold glance at Ning Ke and Lou Yunxiao. “If you two wish to leave this world, I will help you in two days. While you are staying here, please hold your tongues and do not mention those old matters again.”
With that, he helped Jun Mo leave.
Niao Niao did not go with them. Instead, she turned back and approached Ning Ke.
“Big Brother, please don’t blame Little Father for being blunt. He’s just too afraid of seeing Big Father sad.”
Ning Ke snapped back to his senses, feeling a sense of guilt.
“I’m sorry. I was inconsiderate to ask such a question.”
“It’s not Big Brother’s fault,” Niao Niao said, her eyes drooping. “It’s all the fault of the bad people who hurt Big Father.”
Niao Niao told Ning Ke that she and Qing Ru had found Jun Mo three years ago.
As descendants of Nüwa, born of heaven and earth, she and Qing Ru had accepted the command of this world’s Tiandao to cultivate here. Their task was to cultivate until they could create life and slowly bring vitality back to this world.
However, the environment of this world was too harsh.
In this freezing wasteland, it was extremely difficult for life to survive.
Qing Ru and Niao Niao began searching for the root of the problem.
After crossing several mountain peaks, they finally found the slumbering Jun Mo.
The giant silver dragon was covered in snow, his eyes tightly shut, so silent he seemed breathless.
Yet, the violent power and the blizzard he generated, which affected the entire world, had never stopped.
This was enough proof that he was still alive.
When Qing Ru and Niao Niao touched the giant dragon’s body, they could feel his collapsing emotions. It was as if he had encountered an unspeakable tragedy. Overwhelmed by guilt and sorrow, he had forced himself into a deep sleep, unwilling to wake.
Qing Ru and Niao Niao were kind and simple people.
They knew that if the giant dragon continued to sleep like this, his physical functions would deteriorate, and his life would eventually end. Thus, they found a way to wake Jun Mo.
After Jun Mo woke up, he was exceptionally manic and injured Qing Ru time and again.
He roared and howled to vent his emotions.
Qing Ru would transform into his true form and entwine himself around the dragon repeatedly, forcing Jun Mo to regain his sanity.
Over time, Jun Mo finally recovered some of his mind.
He began to accept Qing Ru and Niao Niao, treating them as his family.
Qing Ru and Niao Niao also learned from Jun Mo’s fragmented words that ten thousand years ago, none of the Snow Dragon Clan had survived except for him.
As for what specifically happened, they didn’t dare to ask too much for fear of Jun Mo losing control again.
“So that’s how it is.” Perhaps because his experiences were similar to Jun Mo’s, Lou Yunxiao couldn’t help but feel a sense of sympathy for him.
“But Little Father and I have recently been trying to resurrect Big Father’s clansmen!” Niao Niao’s tone shifted as she smiled. “We aren’t sure if we can succeed yet, so we’ve been keeping it from Big Father to avoid making him sad if we fail.”
“But if we do succeed, it will definitely be a massive surprise for Big Father!”
“You can resurrect the Dragon Clan?!” Ning Ke and Lou Yunxiao asked almost simultaneously.
Their eyes were filled with shock.
“We’re only trying…” Niao Niao said. “As descendants of Nüwa, we are born with the ability to create life.”
“As our strength grows, we can create larger lives and a wider variety of species. However, we can only give the created life the ability to move. To give them a soul, we must have an object where their soul resides.”
“When Little Father and I found Big Father, many dragon skeletons were scattered before him. There were still tiny remnants of souls within them, so Little Father and I wanted to try resurrecting them.”
“The reason Little Father set the second rule about staying away from those rooms is because they contain dragon eggs! They must not be disturbed, or all our efforts will be in vain!”
Just as Niao Niao finished speaking, an explosion suddenly echoed outside.
The earth shook, and a violent dragon roar intimidated the heavens.
Niao Niao’s face changed. She pushed open the door and saw the giant dragon in the sky, out of control and swinging its massive tail. It was about to crash into the buildings where the dragon eggs were kept.
She cried out in desperation, “Big Father, don’t!!”
Seeing that it would soon be too late, Ning Ke narrowed his eyes and shifted his body instantly to appear before the buildings.
The seal on his forehead was released in an instant.
A terrifying power poured out.
He opened his hand, and a giant spiritual hand manifested in mid-air, grabbing the dragon’s tail and pulling it taut!
Even so, he couldn’t help but take half a step back.
After all, the bloodline power of the Snow Dragon Clan was too strong. In a contest of pure physical strength, how could he, a Nine-Tailed Fox, hope to outmatch a dragon?
But at least he had saved the eggs of the Snow Dragon Clan.
And when he recovered himself, he saw Lou Yunxiao standing in the distance, holding his twin swords and staring at him in a daze…
