EO Romance: The Supreme Leader Is About to Enter the Crematorium Chapter 125

Chapter 125: Plagiarism

Ye Zhile found the relevant records, and combined with what Ji Shuohan had shared, he spent the night outlining the piece. However, the choice of words required great care, so Ye Zhile was in no rush; he still had a few days.

“Our little grown-up is certainly busy.” Ji Shuohan sighed from the side.

Since starting the internship, Ye Zhile had been fully devoted to his work. Forget being clingy—if Ji Shuohan didn’t approach him himself, he was practically in a state of being ignored.

“Hehe…” Ye Zhile hugged Ji Shuohan. “I’m done with my work for now, so I have time to spend with you.”

“You remember me now?” Ji Shuohan crossed his arms.

Ye Zhile hugged his arm and leaned in spoiledly. Ji Shuohan pulled him onto his lap. “Then let’s do something meaningful.”

“What meaningful thing?” Ye Zhile asked innocently.

“What else could be meaningful late at night?” Ji Shuohan carried him out of the study. Ye Zhile wrapped his arms around his neck and bit him.

Ji Shuohan hissed. “Save some strength for biting later.”

Back at the company, everyone was at their desks writing. Ye Zhile was no exception. Beside him, You Xun complained, “This is so hard to write… Colonel Wessel had such an extensive career and a touching life. How many words is this going to take?”

“Just focus on the key points,” Ye Zhile suggested.

You Xun sighed. “Sigh~ It’s not easy making a living…”

Ye Zhile and You Xun were among the few who could talk to each other. They would grab coffee or go to the restroom together during breaks. Occasionally, You Xun would pull Ye Zhile along to slack off. Like now, since they had nothing to do, they went to “touch fish”.

Seeing that Ye Zhile wasn’t at his desk, Zhou Ziyu walked over to his computer. He pulled up Ye Zhile’s draft and couldn’t help but be shocked and a bit fearful. Ye Zhile’s draft had clear logic and was very straightforward. If this piece were submitted, it would definitely be the best in the group.

When Ye Zhile returned, he noticed the draft on his desk had been moved. However, when he opened it, the content was intact. He didn’t pay much attention, thinking he had just remembered wrongly.

After pulling several all-nighters, Ye Zhile finally finished the draft and submitted it on Sunday.

Ye Zhile stretched his arms. Ji Shuohan massaged his shoulders. “Submitted? How do you feel? Will it pass?”

“I think so,” Ye Zhile laughed. “I included the information you gave me and what I found in the books, choosing the most important bits. My storytelling and everything else should be fine.”

Ji Shuohan smiled. “It looks like I’ll be seeing my little grown-up’s work in the newspaper.”

Ye Zhile wriggled around happily, convinced everything was fine. But two days later, his draft was rejected, and Rong Laoshi even accused him of plagiarism.

“Plagiarism?” Ye Zhile shook his head. “I didn’t plagiarize! All of this content was compiled from books and the information the Leader gave me!”

Rong Laoshi said helplessly, “The similarity between your draft and Zhou Ziyu’s is ninety percent. The outline is exactly the same, except for a few sentences. But he submitted his earlier than you.”

“That doesn’t mean I plagiarized!” Ye Zhile said angrily. “I never saw his draft. I spent a night organizing that outline myself. Maybe he saw ‘my’ draft?”

“Ye Zhile, I believe in your talent,” Rong Laoshi said. “But Zhou Ziyu is also talented. You two have been competing for first and second place; it’s normal to have some friction…”

“So, you mean I was afraid he’d overtake me, so I plagiarized his work?” Ye Zhile said in disbelief.

Rong Laoshi was at a loss. “How about this: you need to find evidence to prove you didn’t plagiarize. Otherwise, with the high similarity and his earlier submission time…”

Hearing this, Ye Zhile felt as if his brain had been washed over by lava; he was completely dazed. He forced himself to calm down. “I want to see his draft.”

Rong Laoshi pulled up Zhou Ziyu’s draft. Ye Zhile looked at the computer screen and was instantly stunned. He said excitedly, “He didn’t just plagiarize my draft! He used my outline directly! The entire outline is mine, from start to finish; he just expanded on it himself!”

“The problem is, he submitted it earlier than you. You have no evidence to prove he plagiarized you…”

Ye Zhile walked out of Rong Laoshi’s office and back to the group office. The other members were congratulating Zhou Ziyu on getting first place. The smugness on that man’s face was like a needle in Ye Zhile’s eye.

“Why did you steal my outline?” Ye Zhile walked straight up to him and questioned him. “Did you touch my computer?”

“What are you talking about?” Zhou Ziyu pretended not to understand. “I wrote that outline myself. You can’t just accuse me of stealing your outline just because you didn’t get ranked.”

“Stop lying! Our drafts are exactly the same!” Ye Zhile fumed.

Hearing this, Zhou Ziyu became even more unscrupulous. “You said it yourself, our drafts are exactly the same. But I submitted mine first, so it was you who plagiarized me. Don’t try to turn it around.”

“I say, Ye Zhile, if you’re going to accuse someone of plagiarism, you should at least have evidence.” Lin Xu looked on with disdain. “You think you’re great, but others are great too. Just because he got the rank doesn’t mean you should be a sore loser.”

Ye Zhile glanced at him, looking like a bristling little puppy ready to bite anyone. “Who do you think you are? If you dislike me so much, have the guts to knock me down yourself instead of just yapping behind my back! You bark more than a guard dog!”

“You!” Lin Xu was stunned by the outburst, not expecting his tongue to be so sharp. “Fine, you’re the one who plagiarized! Just wait to be fired!”

Ye Zhile couldn’t be bothered with him and looked at Zhou Ziyu. “Shameless.”

With that, Ye Zhile turned and walked out.

“Holy crap! What’s he so arrogant about? Can’t even talk about his plagiarism now?” Lin Xu said defiantly.

“Are you really a guard dog? Did you see it with your own two eyes?” You Xun snapped back at him.

“None of your business!” Lin Xu glared at him.

You Xun gave a cold laugh.

Ye Zhile went to the corridor and pulled out his phone.

“What is it?” Ji Shuohan answered instantly on the other end.

Ye Zhile let out a deep sigh. “Is the Leader at home?”

“Did something happen?” Ji Shuohan heard something was off in his tone. “Are you at the company?”

“Mhm. Could you help bring my laptop over?” Ye Zhile tried to keep his tone light, but Ji Shuohan still caught the heavy frustration in his voice.

“I’ll be right over. Don’t worry,” Ji Shuohan said.

Hanging up the phone, Ye Zhile took a long, deep breath. It was his first time experiencing something like this, but he wasn’t afraid at all. If you’ve done nothing wrong, you needn’t fear a knock at the door. If they wanted evidence, he’d give them evidence.
