Popular Guide: S-Class Sentinels All Want to Monopolize Me Chapter 125

Chapter 125: Goodnight, Su Tang

“The keycard.”

An Se looked at the hand Zhan Ye had extended toward him, raising an eyebrow and playing dumb.

“Keycard? What keycard?”

“Stop playing games!”

Zhan Ye glared at him, his tone carrying an uncompromising hardness.

“The access card to open this damned door. How am I supposed to get out without it? Do you expect me to smash through the wall?”

“And what exactly are you going out for? Don’t forget, your current identity is that of a patient who was dragged back from the pollution zone and is still unconscious.”

Zhan Ye was momentarily choked by An Se’s words, but he soon stiffened his neck and argued back.

“But I’m not actually unconscious. I need to find Su Tang. I’ll just say a few words and come right back. I won’t let anyone discover me. Give me the card.”

“Won’t be discovered?”

An Se let out a scoff and slowly tapped his bracelet.

“Do you have any idea how high the surveillance density in the White Tower is? There are seventeen high-definition cameras between the Medical Department and the dormitory area. How can you say ‘won’t be discovered’ with such confidence?”

He walked to the window, looking out at the deep, heavy night.

“Besides, if a patient who is supposed to be comatose is caught sneaking out in the middle of the night to meet a Guide, and the Supervision Department finds out, not only will you be punished, but Su Tang will be implicated as well. Do you want her to get dragged into a new scandal right after she finally got rid of the last one?”

These words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly dousing most of Zhan Ye’s fervor.

He clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white, but the stubbornness in his eyes didn’t fade in the slightest.

“Don’t I have you? Don’t think I don’t know—you have the authority to control those cameras. Making them ‘blind’ for half an hour or so should be within your capabilities, right?”

“I can do it, but why should I help you?”

“Aren’t we good brothers? You won’t even agree to this small request.”

“From the way you just threw your clothes at me, I certainly couldn’t tell you consider me a brother.”

Realizing he was in the wrong, Zhan Ye lowered his head and stammered out an apology to An Se.

“What was that? I didn’t catch it. Speak up.”

Hearing the man’s teasing tone, Zhan Ye looked up and said through gritted teeth, “Don’t go too far. You heard me perfectly well.”

“Alright, alright. Since I’m such a kind person and you look so pathetic, it’s not impossible to help you.”

“However, I’m quite curious—what words are so important they have to be said at midnight?”

An Se raised an eyebrow, a flicker of mischief in his eyes.

“Stop poking your nose into things that don’t concern you.”

Zhan Ye took the keycard from An Se’s hand, his fingertips lightly brushing the edge of the card. The thought that he would soon see Su Tang made his heart race with anticipation.

“To save resources, the entire White Tower enters energy-saving mode after nine o’clock. The cameras in the Medical Department enter a one-hour data upload and maintenance phase after 11 PM. If you want to go out, choose that window. Watch the time yourself; don’t get caught because you stayed too long.”

“Got it. Thanks.”

Zhan Ye shook the keycard at An Se and unceremoniously showed him the door, half-inviting and half-shoving him out. Then, he sat on the bed and began to count the minutes.

Zhan Ye sat there, his fingers tapping his knee unconsciously while his eyes remained fixed on the clock on the wall. The second hand ticked by, each second feeling like it was boiling his anxious heart.

When the time finally reached eleven, he practically bounced up, grabbed his coat, and rushed toward the door.

Scanning the card to open the door, the corridor was so silent he could hear his own breathing.

He followed the route An Se had described, moving like a silent shadow through the Medical Department’s cloisters under the dim lights of the energy-saving mode.

Finally, he stopped outside Su Tang’s room in the Medical Department.

Holding his breath, he knocked lightly on the door.

No response.

He knocked again.

Still silence. No one answered.

Zhan Ye pursed his lips, his heart skipping a beat. Was she deeply asleep?

He hesitated, wondering if he should leave, but it had been so difficult to sneak out, and with only this short hour available, he was truly unwilling to go back.

He tentatively pushed the door. To his surprise, it wasn’t locked; a gentle nudge opened a crack.

The faint light from the energy-saving lamps in the corridor leaked into the room, illuminating a corner.

He tiptoed inside, using the dim light to see the figure on the bed.

Su Tang was curled up under the blankets, sleeping soundly. Her long eyelashes cast faint shadows on her eyelids, and her cheeks bore a healthy flush, making her look softer than usual.

Zhan Ye’s heart skipped a beat. His feet felt nailed to the floor, and he even softened his breathing.

He had originally arrived with a stomach full of things to say, but looking at her peaceful sleeping face, all the words got stuck in his throat, leaving only a heart full of tenderness.

He stood by the bed for a long time, his gaze lingering on her involuntarily. Watching her chest rise and fall slightly with her breath, the clear sweetness of her scent mingled with that tempting Guide Pheromone, making his heart melt.

The scent calmed the irritability that had plagued him for days. Just below his waist, the skin next to a certain area felt slightly warm—that was where Su Tang had left her mark on him.

He had only discovered it when changing clothes after Su Tang left that day. As expected of the little Guide he had set his sights on, she even knew how to pick the perfect spot for a mark.

He had heard that the marks Guides give to Sentinels are placed where the Guide subconsciously likes the Sentinel’s body the most. If that was the case, did it mean she liked him… there?

The mere thought of it made Zhan Ye feel a surge of heat throughout his body.

His mind uncontrollably replayed the scene in the Purification room that day—her warm, soft hands, the waves of tremors they brought him, and the final, out-of-control…

“Ngh…”

From the gap in the door, the coolness of the corridor began to seep into the room. Perhaps feeling the chill, Su Tang frowned slightly and turned over. The blanket slipped down, exposing a small patch of her fair shoulder.

Zhan Ye’s breath hitched. His face turned bright red instantly as his imagination ran wild, those scenes from his memory competing to occupy his brain.

That erotic and secret scene wrapped around him like vines, making him burn with heat and causing his heart to race as if it would explode.

“Damn it…”

He cursed softly and abruptly turned his head away, not daring to look further.

How could he have such filthy thoughts about a sleeping Su Tang?

He was a complete bastard!

He took a deep breath, trying hard to calm his racing heart, though his fingertips trembled slightly.

He pulled a small box from his pocket and gently placed it on Su Tang’s nightstand.

It was a crystal he had accidentally obtained during a past mission. He heard that carrying it had a great effect on nourishing a Guide’s nerves. Previously, he thought it was useless and left it in the warehouse, but after meeting Su Tang, he had found it and had someone craft a necklace. He just hadn’t found a chance to give it to her.

After finishing this, he took one last deep look at Su Tang on the bed, his eyes full of gentleness.

“Goodnight… Su Tang.”
