Chapter 91: 360 Degrees Without Dead Angles
Ye Ran found a random seat in the lounge area of the Chengyi Building’s first-floor lobby and sat down.
He had already made the call, but he didn’t call Chi Yuheng directly; instead, he called Xin Yu.
In case Chi Yuheng was busy or in a meeting, Xin Yu could help relay the message.
The female employees at the front desk watched Ye Ran from a distance, whispering among themselves. “Should we let him go up?”
Another person spoke up to stop her. “Let him up? No way. Company rules state that those without an appointment and who aren’t employees cannot go up.”
“But we’ve also violated company rules. If we don’t let him up, what if his boyfriend is a high-level executive in the company?”
Several people looked at each other.
Ten minutes ago.
Ye Ran had arrived at the Chengyi Building. He had lived in the Chi family for so long, yet this was his first time at Chi Yuheng’s company.
It was almost time to get off work, so normally no one would visit. Aside from the security guards who were still diligently at their posts, the girls at the front desk were slacking off.
As soon as Ye Ran entered the hall, he accurately caught these slackers.
Slacking off—Ye Ran could understand that. He often arrived late, left early, and slept in class. People always had times when they were tired, and when tired, they needed to rest.
His principle was: as long as Chi Yuheng didn’t find out, everything was within the permitted scope.
So, he and they were kindred spirits.
Several girls had their heads together, holding a phone and discussing something.
Adhering to the principle of not disturbing their slacking, Ye Ran approached quietly.
“No, no, yours isn’t handsome enough. At most, he ranks third in our company.”
“Mine is okay. I heard from the finance department that many girls in our company are pursuing him.”
“It’s true that people are pursuing him, but he loves to show off too much. At a glance, he’s nothing but a show-off; it’s boring.”
The two girls weren’t convinced. “These two are already considered good. The most handsome in our company is recognized as President Chi, but unfortunately, we’ve never heard of him having a girlfriend. We don’t even have a photo of him.”
Another girl smiled and confidently pulled up a photo from her phone’s album. “You’ve all stayed at the front desk for nothing if you haven’t even caught a photo of President Chi. Look at what I took.”
Unexpectedly hearing that they had a photo of Chi Yuheng, Ye Ran craned his neck over them, his eyes desperately trying to peek at the photo on the screen.
The person in the photo was indeed Chi Yuheng, wearing a well-tailored suit, looking as if he had just walked into the hall. He was holding a phone and making a call, his mouth slightly curled.
A handsome face paired with that smile—it was simply perfect.
No one could refuse a handsome man.
No one could refuse a handsome man in a suit.
And certainly, no one could refuse a handsome man in a suit who was smiling.
Several girls began to gush. “This is too handsome! I want a boyfriend just like this.”
“Even though it was a candid shot, it doesn’t lose to a formal one. There’s a saying… uh, how does that saying go…”
As soon as she spoke, the person above them added coolly, “360 degrees without dead angles.”
“Yes, yes, yes, that’s the one.”
The girls followed the voice and looked up, so startled that the phone in their hands “smacked” onto the desk. The phone screen instantly lit up, and it just happened to display Chi Yuheng’s smiling face in the photo.
Ye Ran’s eyes curved as he gave a non-threatening smile. “Sorry. You were so absorbed in your chat that I didn’t want to disturb you. Most importantly, the photo you took is so good; can you sell it to me?”
It was only just now that Ye Ran realized he didn’t have a single photo of Chi Yuheng on his phone.
Moreover, they seemed to have never taken a photo together. He didn’t know if Chi Yuheng had a photo of him, but in any case, as the one pursuing, it was really unacceptable not to have a photo of the person he was pursuing.
Instead of having Chi Yuheng’s photo out there being looked at by others who were gushing over him, it was better to have it on his own phone.
Ye Ran: “I can pay a high price to buy all the photos of him on your phone.”
The girl had been startled by him just now and wasn’t very willing. “Not selling! I won’t sell it for anything. Even if the King of Heaven came, I wouldn’t sell it!”
Ye Ran paused. Those words sounded like his own style.
However, was Chi Yuheng’s charm really that great?
The company employees were all his die-hard fans, clutching even his photos so tightly.
He sighed. “Alright, that’s a pity then.”
After saying that, he was about to head upstairs, but in the next second, he was called back by the front desk employee. “Wait a minute.”
“What’s your name? What are you here for? Do you have an appointment?” The employee didn’t speak to him politely.
Ye Ran’s tone didn’t fluctuate as he answered her one by one. “My name is Ye Ran. I’m here to find someone in your company. I don’t have an appointment.”
The front desk employee said righteously, “You can’t go up without an appointment.”
Ye Ran guessed she would say that. He smiled. “Do I also need an appointment to find my boyfriend?”
“Boyfri…”
The girl repeated the words before reacting. The other two girls appeared calm on the surface, but in reality, their hearts were already in turmoil.
A handsome guy had come to their company to find his boyfriend.
They had just encountered the first piece of juicy gossip.
But rules were rules. The female employee’s face hardened. “I’m sorry, sir. The company has a rule that no one without an appointment can enter, and non-employees are not allowed in.”
Another female employee hurried to add from behind, “Or you can call your boyfriend and have him come down to find you.”
That was also a solution.
Ten minutes later, Ye Ran was browsing short videos on his phone. The several employees at the front desk had mixed feelings—nervousness and expectation. Ultimately, they still wanted to see who the boyfriend Ye Ran had come to find was.
Ding… The elevator reached the first floor.
The female employees whispered, “He’s here, he’s here, he’s here…”
Under the gaze of everyone’s expectations, Xin Yu appeared in the first-floor lobby.
The female employees’ eyes lit up. “It’s Assistant Xin…”
“No wonder a colleague wanted to introduce a girl to Assistant Xin before and was rejected; it turns out he likes guys.”
“Wow, looking at their looks, these two are such a good match…”
Chi Yuheng, who appeared afterward, heard these words. His eyes narrowed, and a cold gaze shot toward Xin Yu.
Xin Yu, receiving his boss’s look, was stunned.
At the same time, he blinked. What had his boss heard?
It definitely wasn’t anything good.
He was innocent; he didn’t know anything, and it had nothing to do with him.
At this moment, Xin Yu’s “survival” instinct surged. He had been standing next to Ye Ran, but now he silently took a step back.
Thus, the female employees saw the following scene.
Xin Yu got further and further away from Ye Ran, far enough that three people could stand in between them.
Just then, their President Chi appeared in the lobby, walking toward Ye Ran with the same smile as in the photo, his voice doting.
“Since you’re here, why didn’t you just come up to find me?”
