Chapter 145: Three’s Company
Just as Sen Ji was about to answer, Yu Jin, who was walking ahead, suddenly turned his head around.
Yu Jin had short, pinkish-purple hair, and his features were strikingly androgynous yet carried the intense aggression of a male merman. He hooked a seductive smile at Xie Qiang, his narrow eyes narrowing slightly, exuding the flamboyant air of a frivolous noble. “If Miss Qiangwei is curious, you can come to my room in a bit, and I’ll transform for you to see.”
“Can you?” Xie Qiang’s eyes lit up.
No woman could resist the allure of a mermaid or merman. She was no exception to the rule, feeling curious about whether a merman was truly as mesmerizing as imagined.
However, right after she asked, she felt her neck tightly wrapped as Hong Que pulled her into his embrace with his arm, muttering in annoyance, “Restrain that lustful heart of yours! Aren’t we enough for you!”
Sen Ji also calmly stepped forward, blocking Yu Jin’s captivating gaze from reaching Xie Qiang. “There’s no need. She requires a good rest.”
“It doesn’t matter, Miss Qiangwei can watch whenever she pleases.” Yu Jin swept a smiling gaze past Sen Ji’s shoulder. “This Yu is at your disposal anytime.”
Sen Ji’s face darkened slightly.
Having stayed in the Third War Zone for so long, he had almost forgotten that the S-class Sentinels of other war zones were all completely starved, desperate madmen.
S-class Guides were already scarce to begin with, and Jiang Qingwan had lost her purification abilities. These S-class Sentinels currently had to rely on A-class Guides just to shave off a fraction of their mania levels. Now that they encountered a new S-class Guide like Xie Qiang, they would inevitably harbor those kinds of intentions.
“Yu Jin, don’t scare Miss Qiangwei.” Beside Yu Jin, Rong Bai stood broad and heavily built, with a white buzz cut. A considerate expression appeared on his rugged, honest face. “Miss Qiangwei is clearly a newcomer. If you frighten her, Commander Sen won’t let you off easily.”
Yu Jin shrugged with a chuckle. “Got it.”
Xie Qiang finally managed to pry Hong Que’s arm off her and glared at him. “I’m just curious because I’ve never seen one before!”
“Heh, not only have you never seen one, you’ve never touched one either! Are you going to want to touch it after you’re done looking?” Hong Que said sarcastically.
Xie Qiang choked, entirely unable to refute him.
What woman could see a merman and resist the urge to stroke its tail?
Seeing Xie Qiang’s reaction, Hong Que instantly guessed that she truly wanted to touch it. His face blackened, and he shot a jealous, sour look at Yu Jin.
What’s so great about touching a smelly merman? If she liked fish tails that much, couldn’t she just go to the kitchen, grab a random fish, and stroke that instead?
Following Rong Liang into the interior of the war zone base, Xie Qiang received countless stares.
The A-class Sentinels looked over curiously. Upon spotting Xie Qiang, astonishment crossed all of their faces.
“Who is she? A newly arrived Guide?”
“To be personally received by Commander Rong, could she be an S-class Guide?”
“She’s so beautiful, just like a little cat. Being purified by her must feel incredibly comfortable, right?”
“Ah… I want so badly to become her Sentinel, to kiss her fingertips…”
Sensing something amiss, Xie Qiang turned her head to look to the side. She noticed that the corridor had somehow filled with numerous A-class Sentinels, staring straight at her, their eyes radiating unrestrained longing and covetousness.
Xie Qiang felt rather unaccustomed to this. In the Third War Zone, the looks she received were always full of loathing and dread. She had never experienced such blatant, raw stares before; it felt as though they wanted to swallow her whole, their desperate gazes scanning every inch of her skin.
It wasn’t until Hong Que abruptly released his S-class suppression that those gazes hastily withdrew. Restrained by the rank dominance of an S-class Sentinel, they dared not be presumptuous any longer.
“I’m terribly sorry. Guide resources are tight within the war zone; they are all simply too starved.”
Rong Liang said apologetically, “I will instruct them to restrain themselves.”
“Don’t be afraid, they won’t dare do anything to you.” Sen Ji looked down to comfort Xie Qiang. “Touching a Guide across ranks without their consent results in military disciplinary punishment.”
Xie Qiang nodded, a trace of confusion rising in her heart.
If crossing ranks to touch wasn’t allowed, did that mean those of the same rank could touch?
Rong Liang led them through the military sector and arrived at the living quarters, handing the keycards to Xie Qiang and the others. “I will transmit the war zone map to everyone’s optical computers shortly to help you familiarize yourselves with the base.”
He elegantly turned on his optical computer and smiled gently at Xie Qiang. “Guide Qiangwei, is it convenient to add each other as contacts? If you need anything, you can reach out to me anytime.”
“Sure.” Xie Qiang opened her optical computer and lightly tapped it against Rong Liang’s, successfully adding his contact ID.
Rong Liang’s avatar was a tiger with the exact same hair color as him—undoubtedly his spiritual body.
“Well then, see you in a bit.” Rong Liang smiled with supreme elegance, then retracted his device and turned to Yu Jin and Rong Bai. “Let’s go, back to the command room.”
“Miss Qiangwei, bye-bye~” Yu Jin walked backward, waving his arm at Xie Qiang with a playful, soul-snatching smile. “Remember to look for me~”
“I hope you have a pleasant stay.” Rong Bai bowed politely and then caught up with the two departing figures.
“Tsk, the sleazy musk on them is completely overflowing.”
Hong Que disparaged without holding back, then turned his head to glare at Xie Qiang, warning her, “If they ask you for purification, remember to call us over first. Do not meet with them alone, do you hear me!”
Though Xie Qiang didn’t quite understand, seeing how vigilant Hong Que was, she ultimately nodded. “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
Hong Que was instantly pleased. He couldn’t help leaning down to peck Xie Qiang on the lips, then licked his own lips as if wanting more. “Are you sleeping in my room tonight?”
Xie Qiang subconsciously tried to look at Sen Ji, but Hong Que quick-handedly pressed her head down, muttering in dissatisfaction, “What are you looking at him for? I’m the one asking you!”
“Evidently, she wants to sleep with me tonight.” Sen Ji reached out to scoop Xie Qiang up, locking her into his embrace, and flashed a small smile at Hong Que. His tone was entirely provocative. “It looks like your pristine Sentinel status will have to be maintained for another day.”
Hong Que instantly blew a fuse.
Glaring savagely as Sen Ji carried Xie Qiang away, he turned his head to look at Mo Yin, who was currently reviewing the war zone map. Pinching his brother’s ear in frustration, he hissed, “Why aren’t you worried at all!”
Mo Yin located the position of the base cafeteria before unhurriedly lifting his head, his wolf-like eyes looking innocently at Hong Que. “Brother, do you want to sleep with her?”
Being asked so bluntly by his younger brother, Hong Que couldn’t help but flush slightly, saying contrary to his thoughts, “I just can’t stand Sen Ji’s smug attitude!”
“Brother, going manic will solve it.” Mo Yin gave a serious expression and raised a thumb. “Imitate the tiger, and she’ll be forced to sleep with you.”
“Hiss…” Hong Que’s expression turned sharp. “Why didn’t I think of that!”
“I’m going to look for Rong Liang right now to ask when we’re going to fight the Zerg!”
Hong Que took off running, leaving Mo Yin standing on the spot. Only after Hong Que had run far away did Mo Yin lift his feet and walk toward Xie Qiang’s room.
Brother is so stupid.
Can’t all three of us just do it together?
Mo Yin knocked on the door. When it opened, he met Sen Ji’s somewhat cold gaze, parting his thin lips slightly. “Can we do it together?”
