Part 3
“Because of the limited-space engravings you gave to the Empire, and because you’re willing to help the Source Weapon Association with optimizations. This is a thank-you gift from His Majesty to Zhizhi.”
Yun Yingzhi was immediately alert and said, “But I entered the competition anonymously!” He absolutely didn’t want others to know he was the “fighter jet” everyone spoke of.
If his true identity were revealed one day, on one hand, he felt he would face “social death,” and on the other, he felt those people might be very disappointed when they found out he was actually very weak.
He had failed their expectations; he was just a soft little white rabbit.
Yun Yinghui: “Yes, so it was given to me, and then I transferred it to your name.”
Hearing this, Yun Yingzhi was instantly relieved.
That evening, with the rabbit cub—who occasionally rubbed its face against his—standing on his shoulder and the incubator in his arms, Yun Yingzhi walked a lap around the new home’s perimeter. It took a full hour before he returned to the villa.
After dinner, he looked at Yun Yinghui and fell into deep thought.
Yun Yinghui asked, “Zhizhi, what’s wrong?”
Yun Yingzhi’s eyelids twitched. After a pause, he said, “I wasn’t very clear before, but I heard that you have to pay property fees here, based on the area.”
Yun Yinghui: “…”
“Brother, it seems a bit expensive?” Yun Yingzhi’s voice trembled slightly.
Yun Yinghui said, “It’s okay, I’ll find a way.”
Yun Yingzhi thought: Liar. Brother isn’t even working now; what way could he have?
One moment Yun Yingzhi was worrying about property fees, the next, his attention was pulled back by the two cubs fighting again.
Yun Yingzhi grabbed one in each hand, forcibly separating the two “bear cubs.”
Even so, he couldn’t stop the two little ones’ desire to fight.
The rabbit cub looked at the egg cub. “Awoo!”
The egg cub, who couldn’t speak, was also particularly angry, trying to struggle in Yun Yingzhi’s hand to rush at the rabbit cub.
Yun Yingzhi held one in each hand, gripping them very firmly.
He was very calm. As long as he didn’t let these two “bear cubs” stick together, they could at most just “yell” at each other.
And as for their yelling, Yun Yingzhi couldn’t understand a word.
Yun Yingzhi: “…” Wait?
What made Yun Yingzhi feel subtle was that these two little cubs had…
Evolved again.
The heart for fighting never died.
The egg cub, just like Prince Elvis, had awakened space and lightning abilities, while the rabbit cub had awakened fire abilities.
However, compared to the abilities the two cubs had awakened before, the lightning and fire abilities they awakened this time seemed a bit weak.
An electric arc the size of a fingernail crackled toward the rabbit cub.
A fireball the size of a fingernail attacked toward the egg cub.
This all happened so unexpectedly. By the time Yun Yingzhi, holding one in each hand, reacted…
A small patch of the egg cub’s pearly white shell had turned black, and a tuft of the rabbit cub’s fur was scorched.
Yun Yingzhi was shocked.
The two cubs who had been hit were also dazed.
Yun Yinghui’s eyelids jumped wildly as he looked at the restless cubs.
Finally, the rabbit cub and egg cub snapped out of their shock.
The rabbit cub looked at the egg cub in Yun Yingzhi’s other hand. “Awoo!”
The egg cub angrily threw tiny lightning arcs.
The rabbit cub angrily threw tiny fireballs.
Yun Yingzhi reached the end of his patience. Full of anger, he shouted, “Both of you, stop it for Papa!”
With a wave of Yun Yinghui’s hand, a layer of ice intercepted all the tiny arcs and fireballs.
The two cubs were in the heat of their anger; they were still furious and wanted to keep fighting.
Yun Yingzhi first placed the egg cub in Yun Yinghui’s hand and poked the rabbit cub with his finger. “Did Papa tell you that you can’t bully Taotao?”
Confronted with the scolding, the rabbit cub’s eyes immediately filled with tears. He covered his head with his two tiny paws and looked at Yun Yingzhi with a face full of weakness and helplessness.
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Yun Yingzhi poked the rabbit cub again, scolding him for a few sentences, and then stuffed him into Yun Yinghui’s hand. He took the egg cub from him, patted the shell, and said angrily, “Little cub, do you know you haven’t even hatched yet? How can you be so naughty before hatching, fighting with your brother every day? Hmm?”
The egg cub wobbled as if he couldn’t bear the burden of Papa’s scolding, appearing pitifully as if he were about to shatter.
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Yun Yingzhi’s heart softened again.
He stuffed the egg cub back into Yun Yinghui’s hand once more.
Now, Yun Yinghui had one cub in each hand.
Yun Yingzhi looked at both and continued to scold them.
Yun Yinghui’s eyelids twitched.
Yun Yingzhi poked both cubs again, said, “Brother, I’m going out to cool off,” and then left the house.
Only Yun Yinghui and the two pitiful cubs were left in the living room.
Yun Yinghui’s brow furrowed, and he placed the two cubs on the floor.
Almost in the next instant, the rabbit cub grabbed one of Yun Yinghui’s feet with a face full of panic, while the egg cub pressed against his other foot.
Yun Yinghui had placed them on the floor simply because he wanted the rabbit cub to hug the egg cub, forcing the two little ones to maintain their brotherly bond, but he hadn’t expected it to cause them panic.
Yun Yinghui looked down at the two cubs clinging to his feet. He was worried that a single move would hurt them and found himself unable to stir.
The two cubs looked up at Yun Yinghui pitifully and helplessly.
About ten seconds later, the rabbit cub tentatively climbed up Yun Yinghui’s leg. The egg cub followed by rolling up. One after the other, the two cubs slipped into Yun Yinghui’s collar.
Surprisingly, the two cubs didn’t fight inside his clothes. They were harmoniously tucked together, peering out from his collar, likely looking for Yun Yingzhi.
On the other side.
The more Yun Yingzhi—who had come out to get some air—thought about it, the angrier he became.
After a thought, he opened his personal terminal and found Elvis.
Elvis had sent him plenty of messages during this time, but Yun Yingzhi had always read them without replying.
He opened the chat box and sent the first line of text.
[Yun Yingzhi: Your Highness! I truly can no longer stand you!]
Elvis on the other end: “…”
[Yun Yingzhi: Can you not be a bit more quiet?]
Yun Yingzhi went on a mad vent.
[Yun Yingzhi: A warrior’s ability is awakened to protect the home and the country, yet you awakened abilities for the sake of fighting. Is that really okay?]
Thinking of the two cubs awakening abilities just for the sake of a brawl, Yun Yingzhi’s mentality crumbled.
[Yun Yingzhi: When you were young, you fought every single day. You were naughty beyond limits! Have you ever thought of the Emperor and Empress? Genes are truly important; you must correct your attitude!]
The more Yun Yingzhi thought, the angrier he became.
[Yun Yingzhi: Can’t you just obediently listen to the Emperor and Empress?]
Elvis on the opposite side: “…”
When he was young?
What was he like when he was young?
According to Emperor Arlyn and the Empress, he was very quiet back then, like a cold machine without any emotion.
He wouldn’t cry, wouldn’t laugh, and wouldn’t express anything—like a cold doll.
Elvis: “…?”
What exactly happened to make Yun Yingzhi this angry?
Elvis on the other end replied: [Zhizhi, don’t be angry. It’s all my fault.]
[Yun Yingzhi: Of course it’s all your fault! If it’s not your fault, could it be mine?]
