Chapter 164: Jealousy
“Why?”
Su Miantang was bewildered.
They clearly agreed yesterday to meet today. Did he change his mind again?
The guard shook his head.
“I’m not sure.”
“Then…”
“Researcher Su, please do not make things difficult for us. If it were a regular inmate, we could forcefully bring them over to see you. But with 0117, even the Warden is completely powerless.”
“It would be best if you left.”
With that, the service window was shuttered.
“Hey, you guys!” Alan furrowed his brows, looking thoroughly anxious. “Group Leader, what should we do now? The children at the hospital are still waiting for the second batch of serum. This Tenleson is far too unpredictable, isn’t he?”
“Don’t worry, let me think.”
Su Miantang looked toward her bag. Inside, apart from some self-defense weapons, there was a bottle of Void Essence with a small amount remaining. It would only last a few short minutes for two people to use, but it was enough to help them sneak inside.
“I have an idea.”
Sector Eleven, Cafeteria.
The beastmen who usually loved to gather around Tenleson to flatter him could smell the gloomy, terrifying aura radiating from him from far away today. Not a single one dared to approach.
“What’s wrong with the Boss today? He’s been staring at that piece of marshmallow for almost an hour, and hasn’t even touched his food.”
“Could he be thinking about that little female from yesterday?”
“No way, right? If the Boss wanted her, wouldn’t it be a matter of minutes? Does he really need to play this pure, unrequited love act?”
“Then why? I heard the stinky lizard say he saw a lot of blood in the cell today—the Boss was self-harming!”
“What?!”
“Stop guessing wildly. The Boss’s thoughts have always been impossible for anyone to decipher…”
“Mr. Esper.”
A clear, melodious voice suddenly rang out at point-blank range, piercing sharply through the noisy, chaotic crowd.
Tenleson slowly lifted his head, only to see the stunningly beautiful young girl sitting directly across from him at the dining table. His deep pupils involuntarily dilated.
“May I ask why you are unwilling to see me?”
Su Miantang inquired, but she didn’t receive an answer. Instead… he reached out a hand and pinched her cheek, then pinched it again.
“?”
What was he doing? Pinching her cheek? Was he acting like a hooligan?
It was warm, soft, tender, and smooth. The texture was as delicate as congealed fat. With just a gentle pinch, it blossomed with an enchanting, cherry-blossom pink hue, making one want to press harder, and harder, to see if water could be squeezed out.
He instinctively applied more force with his fingertips.
The young girl instantly cried out in pain, “Ow~”
This crisp cry, coupled with Alan instantly materializing into the air the next second, caused the man’s expression to freeze. He swiftly withdrew his hand, his vacant pupils rapidly clouded over with coldness and hostility.
“Why are you here?”
He had thought it was a hallucination, wanting to reach out and touch it. He hadn’t expected it to be her in the flesh.
“Using this, Void Essence, one can turn invisible.”
Su Miantang smiled, holding up the empty bottle in her hand. Before she could finish, she was coldly interrupted. “I’m asking, why did you come in? Did the guards not inform you that I couldn’t be bothered to see you?”
“Why? Didn’t we have an agreement yesterday?”
“An agreement?” He let out a light scoff, his sharp brows arching slightly. “An agreement for what? A date? Or to…”
Realizing what he was about to say, Su Miantang immediately interjected, “An agreement to extract blood here. You promised me.”
“Do I look like someone who keeps their promises?”
“…”
Hearing this, Su Miantang knew he was going back on his word again. Just as she was about to speak, Alan beat her to it. “Mr. Esper, your blood successfully woke up over twenty children yesterday. I believe that once they fully recover, they will surely come to thank you!”
“Thank me?” The corners of Tenleson’s lips curled up, a savage, perverse glint erupting from the depths of his dark eyes. “Are they coming to disgust me? Only when all the selfish, base citizens of the Central Planet drop dead will it be considered a true ‘thank you’ to me. It would be best if this entire planet were annihilated.”
“You…”
Alan gritted his teeth, his neck flushing red with rage.
Yesterday, he could tolerate him insulting him and the Group Leader, but now, insulting the planet he loved and all its citizens—it was simply unbearable!
“What right do the people of Planet X have to insult the Central Planet? For thousands of years, which war wasn’t instigated by Planet X? Burning, killing, looting, committing every imaginable evil…”
“Alan!”
Su Miantang noticed the bloodthirsty storm brewing on the man’s face and wanted to stop Alan, but it was already too late.
Bang— Before Tenleson could even react, a lackey from the gathered crowd threw a lunchbox straight at Alan’s head.
“What kind of thing are you?”
“A pretty boy, daring to mouth off to our Boss!”
“You’ve clearly eaten a bear’s heart and a leopard’s gall!”
“And what kind of things… are you people?!”
Alan, his pristine white coat stained with soup and looking incredibly wretched, was pushed to his absolute limit. He charged forward and immediately brawled with them.
“Oh? He actually dares to come at us?”
“Brothers, let’s go! Let’s teach him a good lesson!”
“Alan!”
Su Miantang immediately stood up.
Although he was an A-grade male and his combat power surpassed the vast majority, there was no guarantee there wasn’t an equal-grade fighter among these convicts…
Sure enough, a crocodile beastman knocked him to the ground with a single punch. As a law-abiding citizen, he simply couldn’t contend with these thugs and ruffians.
Without a second thought, she drove her Xinxisu.
“Ah!”
“Ah—”
In the next split second, agonizing screams echoed throughout the cafeteria. The bone-piercing, excruciating pain struck, causing the inmates, who couldn’t even stand steady, to look at her in terror, their bodies trembling violently as they continuously backed away.
They no longer harbored the covetous, lustful desires they had for her at the very beginning.
Who… who exactly was she? How could she possess such terrifying pheromones? This power felt thousands of times stronger than the S-grade females they had encountered before!
Even Alan was completely dumbfounded.
This was his very first time witnessing the Group Leader drive her pheromones.
Didn’t she declare to the Academy that she had no pheromones?!
Now, not only did she have them, but they were absurdly powerful!
While the crowd was drowning in shock and terror, they completely failed to notice that the savage storm in the eyes of the man across the dining table had long been overshadowed by a bone-chilling frost, exuding an absolute, domineering coldness.
“Alan, are you okay…”
Su Miantang was just about to run over when her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
With a slight pull, she crashed directly into a hard, solid embrace.
Before she could struggle, he coiled tightly around her from behind like a lethal venomous snake.
Tenleson!
The man’s muscle-bound, wheat-toned arm locked across her chest, pressing her full, soft curves out of shape. Hot, scalding breath spilled against the side of her cheek, harboring a nameless, wicked fire, as if he might sink his fangs into her neck at any moment and inject her with venom. “Little Marshmallow, you were bullied to such an extent yesterday and didn’t drive your Xinxisu, yet today, for this pretty boy, you couldn’t hold back?”
“Who is he to you? To make you so protective of him? Hmm?”
As he spoke, he actually opened his mouth, biting down on her slender, graceful neck. His sharp fangs pressed firmly against her snow-white skin and pulsing veins.
It felt as though if she said a single wrong word, he would instantly release his venom.
