Chapter 59: Public Appearance via Livestream part 1
Yun Yingzhi handed the two little cubs over to Yun Yinghui. He wanted some peace and quiet to think seriously about his future.
Yun Yinghui took the two cubs into his arms with gentle movements.
The two cubs were uncooperative, immediately lunging back toward Yun Yingzhi.
Yun Yingzhi narrowly caught them as they pounced, only to hand them back to Yun Yinghui. The cubs lunged again, and then again. After a cycle of repeatedly handing them over and having them lunge back, Yun Yinghui had no choice but to grab one in each hand, cutting off any further opportunities for them to jump.
The rabbit cub: “Da da?”
With a fragile, disbelieving little expression, the rabbit cub looked from Yun Yingzhi to Yun Yinghui, his entire body radiating a protest against the heartless behavior of the two adults.
Yun Yingzhi stroked the rabbit cub’s head and said, “Brother, I’m leaving the two cubs with you for now. I want to be alone to think things through.” Today, he especially wanted to be a “self-isolating bunny.”
Yun Yinghui replied, “Zhizhi, no matter what happens, Brother will always be by your side.”
Yun Yingzhi nodded and gave a soft “Okay.”
Yun Yinghui led the two cubs out of the room.
The two cubs were unwilling and struggled constantly until Yun Yinghui whispered the words “Little Battle Bunny” to them. The two previously flailing little things went silent for a moment.
But it was only a moment of silence.
Evidently, at this moment, even seeing the heroic spirit of the Little Battle Bunny wasn’t as important to the cubs as accompanying Yun Yingzhi.
Accompanying a crying Daddy was more important than watching a fighting Daddy!
The two cubs were worried sick about their father. They continued to struggle, trying to lunge back toward Yun Yingzhi once more.
Looking at these two well-behaved cubs, Yun Yingzhi felt a wave of warmth in his heart. He thought to himself that no matter what, he would never let Prince Elvis take the cubs away!
Both of them were his!
Speaking of Prince Elvis, Yun Yingzhi thought of the complete set of source weapons he had spent a fortune to manufacture. He had to contact Elvis to tell him that they weren’t a gift; they were only a temporary loan.
Yun Yinghui said to the two cubs, “Jiaojiao, Taotao, your daddy needs to rest. You can’t keep making a fuss. Eldest Uncle will take you out to play, okay?”
The rabbit cub kept shaking his little head in refusal, while the egg cub repeatedly tried to use his spatial ability to rush back inside.
Yun Yinghui frowned and used his trump card. He said, “Jiaojiao, Taotao, haven’t you always wanted to see the Yaoming Battle Arena? Eldest Uncle will take you there today.”
Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid gave a sharp twitch.
In this regard, the two cubs seemed to have naturally taken after Prince Elvis. As long as it was related to fighting, they were full of interest, acting like born “warrior-bear-cubs.”
Sure enough, the two cubs, who had been making a scene, significantly reduced the intensity of their struggling.
The rabbit cub looked toward Yun Yingzhi with expectant eyes: “Da da.”
Yun Yingzhi could clearly see the longing on that little rabbit face.
“Jiaojiao, your daddy is very tired today and needs rest. He can’t go to the arena with you. Besides, you are still too small; you can only go to watch the battle, not participate,” Yun Yinghui said, then looked at the egg cub. “Taotao, you’re the same.”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
So, did the two cubs mean they wanted to team up with him to fight?
Impossible!
The two cubs were still so small; how could they possibly go to an arena? And to be on the arena in the same frame as him, their father?
The two cubs were simply dreaming!
Yun Yinghui spoke to the cubs again: “Jiaojiao, Taotao, be good. Eldest Uncle will take you to watch, okay?”
The two cubs lunged toward Yun Yingzhi once more.
“Jiaojiao, Taotao, Zhizhi likes the Yaoming Battle Arena just as much as you do. Eldest Uncle will take you to watch today, and you can come back and tell Daddy all about it, alright?”
The rabbit cub fell into deep thought, and the egg cub stopped bouncing.
After a moment of contemplation, the two cubs suddenly stopped struggling.
The rabbit cub waved a little paw at Yun Yingzhi with several “Da das,” and the egg cub used his spatial ability to move a vase from the windowsill into Yun Yingzhi’s hands.
Finally, Yun Yinghui managed to lead the two clingy cubs out of the room, pulling the door shut behind him.
Yun Yingzhi placed the vase back on the windowsill.
Standing by the window, he still felt very dejected. The words he had seen on the Star Network kept drifting through his mind, as did what Yun Yinghui had told him.
Should he reveal that he was Participant A13167?
If he did, the secret of the two cubs would surely be impossible to keep. But then again, for the Imperial Family, what secrets truly existed?
Yet he also thought that hiding it for as long as possible was better than nothing.
His personal terminal gave a notification.
Yun Yingzhi frowned slightly and answered the call. On the other end was the management of the Star Glory Competition.
Just as Yun Yinghui had predicted, the complete set of source weapons he had manufactured had indeed become “regulated items.” Since they couldn’t enter the auction house, he was being asked to sell them to the Empire at a fair price.
Yun Yingzhi wasn’t opposed to this, much like the spatial-restriction source weapon he had made previously.
If the weapons he manufactured could be of help to the Empire, it was his honor as a citizen.
The person on the other end continued, “Respected Mr. A13167, you must have seen it today. The way Prince Elvis manipulated the source weapons you manufactured in the battle against the zerg—it was truly invincible.”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Yun Yingzhi thought to himself that his mental state had collapsed back then; he hadn’t watched the whole thing and had only been busy crying.
“In this year’s Star Glory Competition, from the preliminaries to the semi-finals, every source weapon you have manufactured has been a masterpiece. You have given us so many surprises.” The caller was generous with their praise for every one of Yun Yingzhi’s creations. “Specifically, the series of source weapons you made this time is, as Prince Elvis stated, truly epoch-making. You are destined to become a legendary figure of the Empire.”
Anyone else might have gotten goosebumps from such flattery, but Yun Yingzhi had loved being praised since he was a child. Even though his mood was poor, hearing such high praise still made him feel a bit happy. He replied, “Thank you.”
The person on the other end said, “I am only stating facts. You can check the Star Network; everyone believes you are destined to be the Empire’s strongest source weapon manufacturer!”
And also the most violent source weapon manufacturer.
According to the users on the Star Network, without a sufficiently violent mindset, one could never manufacture such consistently brutal source weapons.
Yun Yingzhi decided he would search for those keywords on the Star Network later.
“Respected Mr. A13167, the reason I am contacting you, besides informing you that your semi-final source weapons cannot be sold at auction, is mainly for another reason. Do you remember the source weapons you manufactured during the preliminaries?”
Yun Yingzhi immediately realized they were talking about the pile of weapons he had “fleeced” when he first joined the competition. He asked, “What about them?”
“The complete set you sent to Prince Elvis this time was too stunning. Many people have contacted us, hoping we could reach out to you. They are requesting that you livestream the skill effects of that initial batch of weapons.”
Yun Yingzhi: “I’m sorry.”
“Respected Mr. A13167, I hope you can reconsider. I am your fan; I’ve been watching you since the preliminaries. I look forward to every source weapon you create. I really…”
Yun Yingzhi interrupted, “I’m very grateful for your support.” After a pause, he added, “I have my reasons for refusing. However, I can promise you that in the near future, everyone will know.”
“Alright, I understand.”
Yun Yingzhi hung up the call.
He thought for a moment, feeling that there was something very important he should be doing.
But when he tried to think of it, he suddenly couldn’t remember what it was.
He stared out the window, his ears twitching. With his excellent hearing, he overheard a conversation between two maids cleaning the hallway outside.
