Zerg: Gloomy Major General, Stop Acting Obedient, My Head Hurts! Chapter 25

Chapter 25: Is Something Big About to Happen?

Fei abruptly released his grip on the other’s clothes; now, it wasn’t just his eyes that were red.

“Xiongzhu, please forgive me.” Fei glanced at the wet patch on the front of Jiang Xu’s shirt and the now-wrinkled clothes, and made to kneel down.

Jiang Xu didn’t really mind. At the time, he just saw the other crying so miserably and tried to coax him a bit.

Who knew it would be completely useless.

Seeing the other about to kneel again: “If you kneel, this conversation is over.”

Fei’s bending legs instantly froze, and he looked up straight at Jiang Xu.

“…” Jiang Xu lowered his eyes. That expression was a bit foul play.

He coughed lightly twice, stood up, and walked over to sit on the nearby sofa. “Speak. What did Admiral Lan want to tell you outside today?”

Actually, the other had already blurted out most of it while crying.

But Jiang Xu needed a complete understanding of the matter, just in case he had missed anything.

He watched Fei sit back down properly on the bed.

Although his state wasn’t great, his back remained perfectly straight.

This must be the proud backbone belonging to a Junci.

Fei recounted the matter to Jiang Xu all over again.

“In other words, they need you to go to the Western Battlefield to investigate this?” Jiang Xu rested his head on his hand, tilting slightly to look at the other, and began to ponder the matter.

“Mm.” Fei gave a light nod.

“Do you absolutely have to go?” Jiang Xu’s other hand, resting on his leg, began to tap unconsciously.

Since complete and perfect preparations had been made for the Western campaign before departure, yet it still ended in total annihilation, it could only mean that some bug or faction had interfered midway.

The whole affair only revealed one word—dangerous!

“Absolutely.” Fei answered very seriously.

“What if I don’t let you go?” The subtle tapping of Jiang Xu’s hand on his leg stopped. He looked straight at the other, waiting for his stance.

Fei bit his lower lip, a look of absolute determination gradually appearing in his eyes.

“Then go.” The other’s expression had already answered his question. “You need to promise me that you must return safely.”

Tonight’s matter made Jiang Xu understand why Fei and the original owner had married so hastily.

Zolan had done it to save his life.

And in the process, he had sacrificed the original owner.

Did it count as a sacrifice? In the Zerg race, taking multiple Cichong was seen by others as the most normal thing in the world.

It was just that for an anomaly like the Jiang family, it appeared abnormal.

He reasonably guessed that Fei must owe the Jiang family an enormous debt of gratitude, otherwise, given the Jiang family’s views on relationships, they couldn’t possibly have sacrificed the original owner.

“Really?” Fei looked at Jiang Xu in surprise, unable to believe the other had agreed so easily.

“If I didn’t agree, would you not go?”

After Jiang Xu asked, Fei remained silent.

He would go.

“Go wash your face, you look like a painted cat.” After Jiang Xu said this, he also stood up and walked toward the nearby wardrobe.

He found a clean set of pajamas and prepared to change.

He pulled his shirt up to his stomach, then suddenly paused.

He suddenly realized something: tonight, he and Fei would be sleeping together.

He wasn’t the only one who realized this. So did Fei, who had wanted to say something but immediately turned his head away the moment he saw Jiang Xu lift his shirt.

He gave himself some mental preparation, then asked Jiang Xu in a soft voice, “Xiongzhu, do you need me to serve you tonight?”

This was the second time he had been so bold with Jiang Xu.

However, his mood this time was entirely different from the last.

There was even a bit of anticipation.

If he really didn’t come back this time, it would at least be worth it.

“…” Jiang Xu had been hesitating, unable to let go of his shirt. Who knew the other would utter such a line? He released his grip on the hem. “No need.”

He found another set of pajamas and tossed them onto the bed. “You wear these.”

“Mm.” Fei picked up the clothes and silently recited the Cishi Regulations in his head: “Xiongzhu, would you like to wash together?”

“…” Jiang Xu.

He wanted to throw the clothes he had just tossed on the bed right over the guy’s head. Just because his orientation was right didn’t mean anyone would do.

“You sleep in this room tonight. I’ll go to another room.” Jiang Xu found himself a change of clothes and walked out the door carrying them.

Before he could close the door, a servant’s voice came from outside. “Young Master, this is the bedtime tea and snacks the Master asked me to bring for you and Young Master Fei.”

Jiang Xu looked at the two bowls of simmered sweet soup on the tray: “…”

Who drinks this late at night?

“You came at just the right time. Tell me, where is there an empty guest room?”

The servant had already thought it was a bit strange for Jiang Xu to be holding his clothes, and now he understood why. “There aren’t any.”

Because no one had mentioned that honored guests would be staying, naturally, no guest rooms had been prepared.

“Not even one guest room?” Jiang Xu looked at the servant in surprise. He remembered that for this kind of large banquet, they would always prepare a few rooms just in case.

“No. The Jiang family banquets never keep bugs overnight; it’s an unspoken rule.” The servant was a bit puzzled; the Young Master was acting a bit strange today.

“…” Jiang Xu.

“Fine, I got it.” Jiang Xu casually took the tray from the other’s hands. “You can go.”

Without waiting for a reaction, he kicked the door shut behind him.

Jiang Xu directly handed the sweet soup he was carrying to Fei: “Drink it slowly. Go take a shower when you’re done.”

Then he took his clothes into the bathroom.

Fei held it with both hands, feeling very strange. It was as if everything had suddenly happened all at once.

By the time both of them had freshened up and lay down in bed, it was already well past midnight.

The two bugs lying in the bed looked as if a massive chasm separated them.

They occupied opposite sides of the bed.

“Xiongzhu.”

Jiang Xu was staring blankly at the ceiling when he heard Fei’s call. He turned his head to look at him, puzzled. “What is it?”

“Were you initially unwilling to marry me too?”

Fei asked this out of the blue, though according to what Jiang Xu knew, that was indeed the case.

Thus, he gave a low “Mm” in response.

“Why?”

“Perhaps it’s the Jiang family legacy.” Jiang Xu just guessed a reason when he said this.

“Then, why is every bug saying that you have an entire wall of wings? Do you really have one?” Fei grew bolder with his questions, seemingly having already accepted that this trip would be a one-way journey.

“…Want to see?”

“No, I just…” Fei wanted to know why he was so different from the rumors.

“I don’t know about this rumor either. As for why it spread like this, I’m even more clueless. By the time I knew about it, it was already like this.” Jiang Xu was telling the truth; by the time he arrived, it was already this way.

“Have you never thought about explaining it to the outside world?” Fei asked curiously.

“Go to sleep.” Perhaps the original owner felt it didn’t matter. At least, that’s how it seemed to Jiang Xu.

With the two bugs no longer talking, the room fell silent again.

Jiang Xu was truly sleepy now. Thinking about the things he had to do tomorrow, he just wanted to fall asleep quickly.

“By the way, are you going home tomorrow or to the military department?” Jiang Xu opened his closed eyes again.

He turned his head to look at Fei beside him, but the other seemed to have already fallen asleep.

“That was fast.” Jiang Xu’s expression softened.

He turned back to stare at the ceiling. Western Battlefield, complete annihilation. Is something big about to happen to the Zerg race?
