Chapter 149: Don’t Cry, Don’t Cry
Actually, Cheng Ge didn’t really want to wake up.
Because he felt his situation was not looking good…
Cheng Ge slowly opened his eyes. The first thing that entered his vision was the dimly lit ceiling.
His chin was resting on something fuzzy. Looking down, he saw the top of Wen Ling’s head.
Wen Ling was hugging his waist tightly, his head resting on his shoulder in a very intimate posture.
That was where the feeling of impending doom came from.
Cheng Ge tried to sit up, only to find that not only was Wen Ling holding him tightly, but he himself was holding Wen Ling in a firm embrace.
This action was so familiar, it felt as though he had done it a thousand times.
Cheng Ge stopped moving and looked down to closely examine Wen Ling.
Wen Ling’s slightly long, choppy hair was a mess, covering a part of his forehead and face, while the longer strands at the back of his head rested obediently on his collarbone.
Delicate eyebrows, long, curled, and thick eyelashes, a high nose bridge, and a small, elegant nose.
The shape of his lips was likely beautiful too, just lacking color.
Wen Ling’s skin was very pale—a pallor noticeable even in the dim environment. His brow was furrowed, making him look melancholic and haggard.
Wen Ling possessed a cold beauty, generally leaning toward an androgynous appearance. He was undeniably gorgeous.
But this didn’t seem to be his type.
Every day, 001 had been nagging Cheng Ge about having a wife here, going from non-con tropes to pure love, and how he had desperately completed tasks in instances just to return and be with Wen Ling.
But he didn’t remember any of it!
Cheng Ge just couldn’t understand how he got married at such a young age.
And non-con tropes? Tsk.
Cheng Ge truly never expected he could be so wild in the past. Could he really like someone to that extent?
It really shouldn’t be.
Lost in thought, Cheng Ge failed to notice a pair of eyes staring right at him.
By the time he snapped back to reality, Cheng Ge was already pinned beneath Wen Ling.
Wen Ling and Cheng Ge were very close, yet his voice carried a sense of distance: “Who are you?”
“You don’t know who I am?” Cheng Ge pressed his hands against Wen Ling’s chest to keep him from getting too close.
Then he frowned slightly, wondering if Wen Ling’s brain had also short-circuited?
“Cheng Ge?” This time, the voice carried a hint of softness.
Wen Ling stared intently at Cheng Ge, his burning breath fanning Cheng Ge’s face, making it tickle.
Cheng Ge gave a “Mhm,” unnaturally turning his face away, his gaze darting around.
This darting gaze led to a startling discovery: both of his hands were tied with thick white silk ribbons.
Recalling the needle Wen Ling had stuck into his neck earlier, Cheng Ge’s pupils dilated abruptly, realizing with a delayed reaction that he might have misunderstood something.
Cheng Ge: [001, 001!! When you said we engaged in non-con tropes before, you didn’t mean Wen Ling was the one forcing it, did you!?]
[001: Yes.]
[Otherwise, did you think you were the one forcing it?]
Cheng Ge, feeling it was only natural: [Who else!?]
[001: Heh.]
Cheng Ge: […]
Damn it… Cheng Ge couldn’t believe it. A dignified, full-grown man like him, how did he end up in such a state!?
“What are you distracted by?” Wen Ling kept a straight face, looking fierce, quite intimidating at first glance.
Cheng Ge was bewildered. “No, wait… you…”
“Who am I?” Wen Ling suddenly asked.
Cheng Ge: “?”
What on earth was this person up to?
Seeing Cheng Ge remain silent, Wen Ling asked again: “Who am I to you?”
Cheng Ge thought, If Wen Ling wants to talk, just talk, why get so close?
Their lips were practically touching.
With his heart tightening, Cheng Ge stammered, “M-my… my wife.”
After saying it, he felt mortified, truly wanting to slap himself.
No, he should slap that bastard 001. It was all 001’s fault for brainwashing him all day.
Wen Ling froze, blinking twice. “Then doesn’t that make Cheng Ge my husband?”
“Bullshit!” Cheng Ge’s face flushed bright red instantly, and his ears were so hot he couldn’t face anyone.
Wen Ling gazed quietly at Cheng Ge. After a moment, he rubbed his cheek against Cheng Ge’s a couple of times.
Immediately after, he bit the tip of Cheng Ge’s ear and kissed the side of his ear.
Cheng Ge’s mind went completely blank. A tingling sensation shot from his ear straight down to his tailbone, itchy and numbing.
“Hey! What are you doing!”
How could Cheng Ge withstand this? Telling him to stop biting didn’t work, and trying to push him away was useless.
Actually, Cheng Ge really wanted to shove Wen Ling away forcefully. But every time he wanted to act, a mess of thoughts flooded his brain.
He would feel pain.
He would get angry.
He would be sad.
He would cry.
As a result, the actual force Cheng Ge used to push Wen Ling was barely anything.
If he couldn’t fight him off, couldn’t he just hide?
Cheng Ge shimmied backward, wanting to get as far away from Wen Ling as possible, not letting Wen Ling touch him.
Cheng Ge’s avoidance instantly enraged Wen Ling.
Wen Ling stared dead at Cheng Ge, his eyes holding complex emotions that Cheng Ge couldn’t quite decipher yet.
“Is this the Cheng Ge I waited for?”
Wen Ling spoke every word clearly, pressing heavily on Cheng Ge’s chest until it felt suffocating.
“On what grounds?” Wen Ling clutched the hem of Cheng Ge’s shirt. His eye rims turned red, and his reason was on the verge of collapsing.
“Every word Cheng Ge said, every look he gave me, every hug and kiss—I remember them all. I will remember them forever!”
“On what grounds do you get to forget me!?”
“Didn’t Cheng Ge say he liked me the most? Were you lying to me again?”
Before Cheng Ge could process Wen Ling’s barrage of words, Wen Ling suddenly started ripping at his clothes like a madman.
Wen Ling’s fingers were cold, their presence overwhelmingly strong.
Cheng Ge hurriedly stopped Wen Ling’s actions, pinning his hands down. “Hey! What are you doing? Men and women shouldn’t have physical contact, hey!”
“Calm down a bit, Wen Ling!”
Wen Ling couldn’t care less; he just couldn’t take it!
How was he supposed to accept the unfamiliar look in Cheng Ge’s eyes when he looked at him!?
How was he supposed to understand every time Cheng Ge avoided him!?
In the end, was he the only one who remembered everything!? What did “wait for me” even mean?
What did their love mean?
Wen Ling wouldn’t forgive him. No matter how much he liked Cheng Ge, he wouldn’t forgive him!
Lock him up.
Chain him.
Hugs, kisses. Love, day and night. He would make Cheng Ge belong to him and him alone.
The taut string of Wen Ling’s reason was about to snap.
Until Wen Ling pulled up Cheng Ge’s shirt.
He saw the mottled scars hidden beneath Cheng Ge’s clothes.
Old wounds hadn’t healed before new ones were added, a crisscross of red and purple.
Cheng Ge watched as the person who had completely lost all reason just a moment ago suddenly grew quiet—so quiet he wasn’t even breathing. Cheng Ge didn’t understand for a moment.
Being confused was one thing, but Cheng Ge didn’t hesitate in his actions. He quickly pulled his clothes back down, clutching them tightly to prevent them from being ripped off again.
Cheng Ge was just about to tell Wen Ling to calm down when he looked up and saw that the fiercely glaring person had already shed many tears.
Teardrops smashed onto Cheng Ge’s pants, seemingly smashing into Cheng Ge’s heart as well.
Tears flooded Wen Ling’s eyes, wetting his eyelashes. Helpless and lost, he knelt on the bed.
Wen Ling’s face was red from crying. Looking pitiful, he slightly opened his arms toward Cheng Ge.
The meaning was clear; he wanted to be held.
Wen Ling wanted Cheng Ge to hug him.
Cheng Ge kept a straight face, turned his head away, and tightly hugged himself with his arms.
Are you kidding me? This is not how you comfort someone!
Not to mention this person used to initiate non-con scenarios, drugged him, tied him up with ribbons, and just tried to strip off his clothes!
Don’t even think about it!
Before Cheng Ge could finish complaining in his head, he snapped back to reality to find his hands were already gently patting Wen Ling’s back…
Stupid hands!
With practiced ease, Cheng Ge wiped away Wen Ling’s tears. He lowered his head and almost kissed the corner of Wen Ling’s eye…
Thankfully, Cheng Ge turned his face away just in time.
Stupid mouth!
Cheng Ge seriously doubted his own existence!
Why did he subconsciously pull the person into his arms, patting and stroking them, even wiping away their tears with such care, terrified of hurting this guy’s eyes!?
“Cheng Ge…”
“Cheng Ge…”
Wen Ling kept sobbing, calling Cheng Ge’s name with a choked voice, but with no follow-up.
Cheng Ge grew annoyed listening and asked, “What do you want?”
“I just called you, and you, you didn’t even respond to me…”
Wen Ling sounded so incredibly wronged that it made Cheng Ge’s heart ache.
“Well, I responded to you, didn’t I? Stop crying.”
“If Cheng Ge hugs me, I won’t cry.”
Wen Ling’s voice was muffled. He buried his entire face in Cheng Ge’s embrace, his hands clutching Cheng Ge’s clothes tightly, wiping all his tears onto Cheng Ge’s shirt.
Cheng Ge silently sighed in his heart. He stroked Wen Ling’s long, smooth hair. “Don’t cry, don’t cry.”

[1. There’s a plotline you darlings might not have noticed? In Chapter 86, Cheng Ge asks the system if he is free, if he has the right to choose. Little Cheng was asking if he could stay. The system said there is a price, there are risks, which actually meant doing dangerous missions. Then around that time, he decided to do the missions in exchange for the chance to stay. So he had been preparing all along, including the videos, teaching cooking, etc., as well as the ‘other worlds’ and ‘instances’ mentioned in his chats with the system. Not being discovered referred to this matter. I’ll explain more when I’m less busy.]
[2. And now it’s the reunion, going back to the push-and-pull, bittersweet thrill from the first half of the book. The writing style leans toward healing and comedy. Little Cheng’s amnesia will be cured, and he won’t mistreat Little Wen because of it. It’s a bittersweet feeling, the romance line is fine, don’t worry. Little Cheng has just returned to his initial state of inner awkwardness, but his body is out of his control hahahaha, it won’t be angsty, no angst.]
[3. At this time, Little Cheng thinks Little Wen is a girl. It’s not a typo, it will be explained later hahahaha.]
[If you have any other questions, I will explain them in detail later. I’ve been way too busy lately. Darlings, I’ve seen your comments but haven’t read them closely. I’m afraid of my resolve wavering and being influenced, so I haven’t replied yet. Sumimasen, darlings.]
