Chapter 112: Suffered Quite a Lot
Ever since Ye Ran formally signed the contract with Chi Yuheng, he had completely become a hands-off boss.
Xin Yu would regularly report the progress to him. This Client Boss was pampered daily in the palms of the contractor’s hands; once he got smug, it was easy for him to get carried away.
From Monday to Friday, he appeared to be sitting in the classroom, but in reality, he didn’t listen seriously at all; sleeping became a common occurrence.
That was only secondary; at night, he was even clutching a phone, immersed in the world of games with Xu Huiyang and Chi Youchu in a team.
He wouldn’t get off the game to sleep until his gaming time was so long that he was banned.
On the weekends when there was plenty of time, the trio would directly go to Chi Youchu’s large flat with a sea view.
They would nest in Chi Youchu’s house, which looked like a slum, for an entire day.
Milk tea, snacks, and takeout were spread across the entire table.
The important thing was that the three of them had continued like this for half a month without being discovered by their respective older brothers at home.
The three of them chatted while playing games.
Ye Ran: “Second Chi, you play with us like this every day; isn’t your Brother Pei Si anxious that he can’t get an appointment with you?”
Chi Youchu was playing the Jungler. After Ye Ran finished speaking, he directly used a displacement skill to stick to the opponent’s Marksman’s face, and the Marksman was instantly killed.
The Mid-laner who came to save him didn’t brake in time and couldn’t escape either; he was hacked into a mess by Chi Youchu’s game character and finally lay innocently in the fountain.
Ye Ran was right beside him and didn’t even need to help. Hacking with the blade was all it took; it was a completely crazed way of playing.
Ye Ran looked at Chi Youchu’s series of operations and clicked his tongue twice. “I can see that your resentment is very high.”
While this person’s resentment was high, another person was just the opposite—a face full of excitement.
Even with low health, he didn’t go back; he just took his sliver of health and frantically provoked the opponent’s players in front of them.
The opponents didn’t dare to step forward directly. Seeing him entice them so blatantly, there had to be an ambush if they really rushed over.
In truth, Xu Huiyang didn’t have a single teammate behind him; it was purely because he himself had gone crazy and wanted to play like this.
After several provocations, the opponent’s Mid-laner couldn’t take it.
A text was sent out: [Opponent Mid-laner]: The Support on the other side is definitely a lunatic. Can we still play properly?
It was probably meant for the team, but he might have forgotten to change the settings, letting everyone see it.
Seeing that he had annoyed the person, Xu Huiyang provocatively sent a reply: [Hui]: If you have the guts, come over and kill me!
The opponent Mid-laner was about to rush up; he didn’t care about that much, he’d take the kill first.
Someone was coming, and Xu Huiyang turned around and ran in fright.
He only had a sliver of health left; if the opponent really came, he would definitely be gone in a second.
Coincidentally, while running back, he happened to bump into Chi Youchu who was passing by. Seeing someone deliver themselves to his door, Chi Youchu raised his blade and went for it.
Finally, the opponent Mid-laner was miserably waiting to respawn in the fountain.
He was also unlucky to run into one who was “manic” and one who was “crazy.”
After a round, their gaming strategy was: Xu Huiyang enticed, Chi Youchu did the job.
Xu Huiyang enticed again, Chi Youchu did the job again.
Perhaps having been tormented miserably, the opponents would also turn around and run whenever they coincidentally ran into Ye Ran.
The game ended, and Ye Ran leaned lazily against the sofa. “The feeling of winning is quite good, but… there’s no sense of participation.”
Xu Huiyang: “Isn’t winning while slacking off good?”
Ye Ran: “No, I want kills too. But speaking of which, why are you so excited? Did you win the lottery?”
Xu Huiyang showed his teeth. “Almost. My brother went on a business trip; I’m free!”
The shout hadn’t lasted two seconds when the doorbell rang.
Ye Ran paused, then looked toward the door. “Which of you two ordered takeout?”
Chi Youchu was in a brooding state today, and he glanced toward the door indifferently. “I didn’t.”
Ye Ran then turned to look at Xu Huiyang. Xu Huiyang tilted his chin. “We haven’t even finished this table full of stuff; why would I order takeout?”
None of the three had ordered takeout, so who was ringing the doorbell at this time?
It was already very late; it couldn’t be a ghost, could it?
The three chose to ignore it. Perhaps they had hallucinated after playing too many games.
If they hadn’t mentioned takeout, it would have been fine, but now that they did, all of them were hungry.
The game was paused, and they began to sweep through the delicacies.
Ye Ran and Xu Huiyang each took a handful of skewers. Chi Youchu’s gaze lingered on the skewers in their hands, finally choosing to drink milk tea.
The barbecue Ye Ran ordered tonight was particularly famous in the vicinity and exceptionally delicious. Ye Ran asked, “Are you sure you won’t eat?”
Chi Youchu: “Not hungry, don’t want to eat, no appetite.”
For a foodie like Chi Youchu to say “don’t want to eat” was completely to the point of the sun rising from the west.
Ye Ran wanted to continue asking, but Chi Youchu spoke before him. “Are you two sleeping here tonight, or are you going back?”
Xu Huiyang took another skewer of grilled shrimp. “I have to go back. Although Mr. Xu Zhaoli is on a business trip, the return flight is scheduled for tonight. Sob, freedom is always so short.”
Ye Ran: “Returning tonight? Then you’re still here, not going back?”
Xu Huiyang glanced at the time and ate the shrimp unhurriedly. “There should be more than an hour left. It’s raining today, so the flight might be delayed. So no rush, I’ll wait until I’ve had my fill before leaving.”
Ye Ran gave a friendly reminder, “The flight might not necessarily be delayed, right? Even if it rains, there might be some ‘sneaky’ flights that set off secretly.”
“Haven’t you seen the skits online? A two-hour flight arrives an hour early, catches the husband cheating upon arriving home, and perfect for a divorce.”
Xu Huiyang didn’t take it to heart at all. “Impossible, absolutely impossible.”
“Xu Zhaoli absolutely cannot return early. I sent him a message ten minutes ago and he didn’t reply; he must be on the plane right now.”
Xu Huiyang spoke with considerable confidence.
Since he said so, Ye Ran didn’t argue and just ate his own barbecue.
Ding-dong…
The doorbell rang again.
The three people’s gazes looked toward the door in unison.
And this time the bell rang more than once, as if the person outside had already lost patience.
This time it was absolutely impossible to be a hallucination. Ye Ran ran over and looked out through the peephole. After a few seconds, he turned back silently and gave Xu Huiyang a deep look.
His whole face was written with four words: Good luck to you.
Before Xu Huiyang could understand what he meant, Ye Ran opened the door. “Brother Zhaoli, the person is right there.”
Ye Ran pointed his finger at the sofa. Upon seeing Xu Zhaoli, Xu Huiyang sprang up from the sofa with a “whoosh.”
His mouth was stuttering, “B-b-b-b-brother… why… are you back so early?”
Xu Zhaoli’s face was dark. “The plane arrived early.”
Xu Huiyang: “…”
Confidently wrong.
So the reason Xu Zhaoli didn’t reply to his message wasn’t because he was on the plane, but because he was on the way to catch him.
“Xu Huiyang, if I hadn’t come back, you would have finished tearing down the house!”
Xu Huiyang had been addicted to “PUBG” for a while and got a toy gun to play with at home. As a result, his aim was poor, and he accidentally damaged several antique vases in the house.
Xu Huiyang braced himself to smile at his brother. “I’m not a Husky.”
No matter how much Xu Huiyang argued, Xu Zhaoli directly carried the person away.
Ye Ran came back and continued eating his barbecue, not forgetting to tease the brother who had been carried away. “Young Yang is going to suffer quite a lot when he gets back today.”
Chi Youchu sucked a large mouthful of pearls into his mouth and chewed. “I feel that if you don’t go back soon, you’re going to suffer quite a lot too.”
