The Cannon Fodder Omega’s Mental Power is Off the Charts [Transmigration] Chapter 31

Chapter 31: Tulip – It Smells Quite Nice.

Yu Xia squinted his eyes to look at the young instructor in the tree, then looked back at Qin Yizheng beside him. “Are you guys conducting some sort of sketchy transaction?”

Qin Yizheng couldn’t help but laugh. “What are you talking about? I was just signaling him. If everything goes smoothly, he’ll send me a copy of the video and audio he’s recording. He agreed, so you can relax now, right?”

Hearing this, Yu Xia looked at the young instructor in amazement. “He’s even recording a video?”

“Of course. Why else do you think he specifically hid up in the tree? He obviously wanted a good vantage point to capture both of their faces and record their conversation verbatim without being detected.” Qin Yizheng then pulled Yu Xia along, slipping away as silently as they came. “Alright, we should get going. As a fourth-year student, coming over for a quick peek without getting caught is good enough.”

Yu Xia followed behind him. Hearing Qin Yizheng say this made him tread extremely carefully. “If we were talking so casually just now, won’t they notice us?”

Qin Yizheng: …

“There’s no need to be that cautious. We were far enough away, and we could barely see them clearly anyway. As long as we weren’t staring at them for a prolonged period, they shouldn’t notice. Not everyone has mental power as high as yours, making them hyper-sensitive to their surroundings.”

For the vast majority of people, detecting someone staring at them in such a wide, open environment was practically impossible.

The two people whispering behind the tree hadn’t even noticed the instructor right above them, let alone the two of them watching from a considerable distance.

Ever since Yu Xia introduced himself to his classmates that day, his training routine had settled into a steady rhythm. He basically lived a routine of running one round in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one at night. After his three daily rounds, the previous day’s physical evaluation report would be handed over to Gao Zhou, who came to collect it.

In the first few days, he was still interested in the conversation between Yun Shaocheng and the Alliance agent, occasionally asking Qin Yizheng for updates. But the situation seemed more complicated than it appeared; a week went by without any news. Yu Xia eventually stopped wasting his energy on it.

He had to focus entirely on exercising. He simply didn’t have the time or energy to spare on other matters.

The turning point occurred about three weeks later.

That day, Qin Yizheng sent a message to Yu Xia early in the morning as usual. However, it was different from other days. Usually, while Qin Yizheng would pretend to be pitiful and act like he wanted to sleep in, when push came to shove, he would feel a sense of urgency, get up, open the door for him, eat the breakfast he brought, rest for a bit, and then begin the first training session of the day.

But that day, a long time passed after Qin Yizheng sent his message without any reply.

A bad feeling suddenly welled up in Qin Yizheng’s heart. His intuition told him that something might have happened to Yu Xia, and he rushed over immediately.

Fortunately, he also lived in the single dormitory area, quite close to Yu Xia’s building. He arrived in no time.

Qin Yizheng stepped up to Yu Xia’s dorm and pressed his hand against the palm scanner.

As Yu Xia’s military training supervisor, he had access privileges to Yu Xia’s dorm. It was a good thing he did, too, otherwise he would have had to go to the S-District administrator to get a master keycard, submit an application, and wait for the dorm management to approve it before he could finally get his hands on it. With a process like that, who knew how long he’d be waiting.

Upon entering Yu Xia’s dorm, he called out a few times, but there was no response for a long while. There were only faint rustling sounds coming from Yu Xia’s bedroom.

Qin Yizheng looked over.

The bedroom.

It was ultimately somewhat impolite, but…

Qin Yizheng held the doorknob for a good while, muttered an “Excuse me,” and finally walked in.

The scene inside the room made him breathe a sigh of relief. Yu Xia was lying perfectly fine on the bed, occasionally rubbing his flushed cheek against the pillow. He looked very much alive.

It was just that his sleeping posture wasn’t great, exposing a section of his calf that made it a bit hard to look away.

Feeling somewhat awkward, Qin Yizheng coughed lightly twice and stepped forward, trying to wake him up. “Yu Xia, wake up. The sun is already…”

Initially, he thought Yu Xia had simply overslept. Given how fiercely he had been training lately, it made sense that he would be exhausted. But the heat radiating from Yu Xia’s body instantly told him the situation wasn’t that simple.

Before he even touched Yu Xia, he could feel the radiating heat. This was absolutely not a normal body temperature.

At this point, Qin Yizheng couldn’t care less about the boundaries between an Alpha and an Omega. He directly scooped Yu Xia up from the bed. “Yu Xia, Yu Xia, are you conscious?”

Perhaps recognizing the familiar, urgent voice, Yu Xia finally struggled to open his eyes. “Qin-ge, why are you here? Did I oversleep? What’s going on… I feel so tired today…”

Qin Yizheng stopped Yu Xia from moving. He said directly, “Don’t move. You’re running a severe fever right now. I’m taking you to the school infirmary.”

Yu Xia’s brain was inevitably sluggish at the moment. It took him a while to process what Qin Yizheng was saying. He raised a hand to rub his forehead. “Am I running a fever? I don’t feel it. I feel like my condition is okay right now, just really sleepy…”

Qin Yizheng simply didn’t know what to make of Yu Xia’s current state.

He was already incredibly sleepy, yet he still felt his condition was “okay.” He really didn’t know what to say to him.

He directly draped his own school uniform jacket over Yu Xia and scooped him up into his arms. “Don’t worry, I’m taking you to the infirmary right now. Our school infirmary is fully equipped. You’ll be fine in no time.”

As Qin Yizheng hurried out of Yu Xia’s dorm, he ran into Gao Zhou, who had specifically come to pick up the previous day’s physical evaluation report.

Seeing Qin Yizheng and Yu Xia in this state, Gao Zhou immediately realized something was wrong. “What’s going on? Did something happen to Yu Xia?”

Qin Yizheng nodded, making no move to let him inside. “He’s running a fever. I don’t have time to explain right now. Once Yu Xia’s condition stabilizes, I’ll personally go to Instructor Yi to deliver yesterday’s report and update him on today’s situation. For now, I’m getting Yu Xia to the infirmary.”

Gao Zhou had no objections and immediately stepped aside. “Alright, I’ll explain the situation to the instructor. Be careful…”

Before he could even finish his sentence, Qin Yizheng had already disappeared from sight.

Gao Zhou scratched the back of his head. “As expected of an SS-rank constitution. He can run that fast even while carrying Yu Xia.”

Unable to get the physical evaluation report, Gao Zhou had no choice but to return to the training ground empty-handed. Instructor Yi was already waiting for him. Seeing his empty hands, he asked, “Where’s the report? Why isn’t there one today?”

Gao Zhou spread his hands and briefly explained the situation from that morning. “I only saw Senior Qin rush out of the dorm carrying Yu Xia. Yu Xia looked like he was in a lot of discomfort. They’re heading to the infirmary now, so I don’t know the specifics.”

Instructor Yi pondered for a moment, recalling Yu Xia’s reports from the past three weeks, and gained a basic understanding of the situation. “It shouldn’t be a big problem. He’s probably undergoing a constitution upgrade. Going from D to C isn’t too difficult, and his constitution was already at D+. However, crossing a major rank takes a while for the body to adapt to, but it’s not a huge issue. His Mental Power Disorder should improve a bit.”

Although it would still be uncomfortable, any improvement was a good thing!

Instructor Yi waved his hand grandly. “Let’s begin today’s training!”

Meanwhile, at the school infirmary, things were a bit chaotic. The doctor on duty hadn’t expected such a tricky patient first thing in the morning and rushed to examine his condition.

Qin Yizheng stepped aside and called Professor Wen, explaining the situation directly. “Yu Xia has a fever.”

Consequently, the hovercar that had just parked beneath the professor’s office building immediately made a U-turn and sped toward the infirmary.

The doctor on duty performed a brief checkup and concluded: “It looks like his constitution is upgrading. This is a necessary reaction to a constitution upgrade. His body is gradually adapting to the new tier. He’ll likely be quite uncomfortable for a while, but his condition seems decent for now. I don’t recommend using medication.”

Hearing this, Qin Yizheng let out a sigh of relief.

The situation had arisen so suddenly that he had completely forgotten about this possibility, simply rushing to bring him here in a panic.

He looked at Yu Xia lying in the hospital bed and asked the doctor, “How is his condition now?”

The doctor continued with his tasks, pulling needed items from the medicine cabinet while answering, “No other issues, just that he’s been running a fever for a while and is a bit dehydrated. An IV drip with normal saline will do. But there are a few things you need to pay attention to.”

Qin Yizheng instantly grew tense. “What things?”

At this question, the doctor suddenly went quiet. He seemed unsure of how to phrase it. After struggling for a while, he asked, “Student Qin, may I ask, what is your relationship with this student?”

Qin Yizheng blinked, completely confused.

At that moment, Wen Lun walked in from outside. Hearing the doctor’s question, he gently pushed Qin Yizheng aside. “They don’t have any relationship right now. I am his attending physician. Has something unexpected come up?”

The doctor naturally recognized Professor Wen. He stepped aside to let Professor Wen examine Yu Xia. “This student seems to be undergoing a constitution upgrade. It’s nothing serious, but… he appears to have just come of age and hasn’t experienced his first heat yet. Professor Wen knows that a constitution upgrade impacts the body…”

As soon as the doctor said this, Professor Wen understood immediately. “I see. I will keep an eye on that.”

It wasn’t just Professor Wen who understood; Qin Yizheng, standing nearby, also grasped the implication.

He had been too anxious when rushing Yu Xia here earlier to notice, but now, with a light flare of his nostrils, he could detect a faint, delicate fragrance.

Qin Yizheng pondered for a long time before finally identifying the scent.

It was the scent of tulips. A tulip scent that Yu Xia had left on him.

It smells quite nice.

He thought.
